I wanted to change from iOS. I waited to purchase the Pixel 6 Pro until after the big updates. After updating to the Jan '22 security patch, with all supposed bugs fixed, I found there were still issues. My issues were: a flickering screen, spotty 5G/LTE signal connectivity, Wi-Fi calling connectivity issues - would not connect at all, sensitive/aggressive adaptive brightness issues - just constantly changing brightness, fingerprint reader is just the worst, and just could not get the always-on-display to work. I've read not all Pixels have these or other documented issues, but mine certainly did. I mean, it really is a nice phone, with a great display, great cameras, and an excellent build quality. The amount of issues are simply unacceptable from a company such as Google. Purchase at your own risk. What a shame!

Dropped calls. Person on the other end sometimes couldnt hear me talking. Phone felt like a hand warmer in my pocket. Turned on my cell data and the battery started to drain. 15%+ in a hour. Moto Edge 2021 to me is a better phone with a better display.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is an amazing phone to own. All I had to do is put in my SIM card from my old phone and power on my new Pixel 6 Pro. It instantly activated to Verizon and began the setup process. The first thing it asks to do is connect to Wi-Fi. I had no problem doing this even with a hidden signal. Then it asks if you want to copy from your old phone. I choose not to do this as I backup most of what I need to Google. Next you sign-in or create your account. Then you agree to some Google Terms of Service. It asks if you want to use Google One to back up your phone. It comes with 15GB for free and larger options up to 2TB for an additional price. Then you accept some more Verizon and Google terms. Then you setup your fingerprint unlock. Fingerprint unlock works great. Just make sure you capture at multiple angles. It will ask you to scan your finger multiple times but this didn’t take long. Now you teach Google Assistant to recognize your voice by saying “OK Google” and “Hey Google” a few times. Mine asked me to setup Google Pay with a card that was stored from a few years back so I skipped it. Then it asks you to setup Live translations. It asks if you want to get more tips and tricks. Then it shows you how to navigate the UI. Last it goes through a completing setup stage that took maybe 5 minutes. Now you are ready to use your phone. All of my backups were there almost immediately including all my Home devices like my Google Nest camera and my Chromecasts. To start with the best part for me was the better reception. I can tell because at my desk at work I could not do much of anything on my phone. Videos and apps would stall or spin and games wouldn't work. It's still not perfect with this phone but the reception is about 95% better. One of the other functions I am most excited about is Google Translate feature. It will translate in select chat apps like Snapchat, messages and videos automatically. You can use your camera to point at signs in other languages and show it to you in English in real time. You can also tell Google to “Be my interpreter” and it will translate what is being said. You can use Recorder to do this also. 12GB of RAM people and lowest storage option is 128GB up to 512GB. This phone comes in three colors: Cloudy White, Sorta Sunny and Stormy Black. All are a glossy shiny finish that just looks awesome. It feels really smooth too. So smooth, that I am actually scared to hold it because I am afraid I will drop it. I know most people will get one but I definitely recommend a phone case. It feels a little heavier than most phones that I've owned but it's not bad. It comes with a new Google custom-built processor called Tensor. I have to say so far it feels pretty fast. I downloaded over 30 app updates and installed them in under 5 minutes. Just watching one update was super-fast. The UI has some new customizations like Themed Icons which will show the same colors through many Google apps. It comes with four cameras. 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide, 48 MP telephoto, LDAF sensor and a 11.1MP front camera. You can press the power button twice to open camera and then hit the volume up button to take a picture. Pictures look great and take fast. There are too many options to list here about taking photos. A few key options to point out though are the search functions after taking a photo. You can have it translate languages, copy text and save it, recognize objects in the photo and show shopping matches, recognize places you are at and recognize food to see reviews and recipes. Magic Eraser is another cool option. It works and does a pretty good job of filling in what would be behind objects but it is still noticeable. Night shots really do look great compared to other phones. The light in my room is low and when I took a picture of the keyboard I'm typing on, I was amazed at the detail it captured by proving how dirty it was. It will also capture in 4K which creates large files so be aware. My Pixel only came with a cable and USB adapter. It has a 5003 mAh4 battery. It took around 3 hours to get a full charge from 6% with the charger that I own. It lasted about 2 days on a full charge for me. Pretty sweet. You can charge it wirelessly and charge other devices with Battery Share. It also has an Extreme Battery Saver option which lets you select the only apps you want to run if your battery gets low. The 6.7-inch QHD Smooth Display is made with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the toughest Gorilla Glass yet. This will probably be my first phone that I won't buy a screen protector. It has HDR and 120Hz refresh rate and I say it looks astonishing. Calling Assistance is pretty cool. It will tell you current wait times for the number you are calling. It can display the automated message in text on your screen that you can select and use. It will also even hold a call and notify you when someone is available to speak. Pixel comes with the best security features to protect your data due to its new processor. When a new message comes thru, Google will let you know if it is a security threat. Personal Safety is a new feature. Set your time when the phone checks for a response from you, say if you are alone in a new town, and if you don’t respond it will send your location to your emergency contacts. It will even dial 911 if you have been involved in a severe car crash. So what are you waiting for. Go buy your Pixel Pro 6 now.
