I’ve had an iOS phone for many many years. Haven’t had an android phone since then. I have to say there is a learning curve to get the os down. But it’s easy enough. And I miss how android is super customizable. And I love the look of android auto as well.
The pixel pro 7 is a great phone. The screen is super sharp, bright and smooth with the 120hz refresh rate. Very vivid and deep rich colors. From watching Netflix In bed to playing my old favorite android games. I even enjoy the camera cut out look as well. The slight curve screen looks cool but isn’t necessarily in my opinion. I prefer traditional flat screens as when watching YouTube, TikTok and the like,I sometimes press the play pause button. Which isn’t a hige deal but did bother me a bit. Just have to get used to it. I do have rather large hands tho so yea.
Button placement is perfect even for a large phone size. Buttons are very tactile as well. Not soft or mushy like other brands.
Battery last forever. Even while watching TikTok and browsing for the hours I do on the daily. The wireless charging works great too. I don’t know if it’s a larger area than my old phone but I can find the right spot on my charging pad very quickly . Charge time is super fast as well. But Google didn’t include a charger brick which is unfortunate for some. But I have plenty lying around.
Camera is amazing as most know. I’ve heard that googles pixel pro line was top notch and now I know why. Although I don’t use my camera on my phone as much as others(have dslr) I have to say that the sharpness and clarity is amazing. Way beyond my old phone. Zoom Is great too. Night shots are ridiculously detailed and clean. This camera allows so much light in with such a small sensor. Still amazes me how technology has advanced so fast. Google knows what they are doing with both the hardware and the software.
The processor from what I’ve seen works great too. Although I never had the previous versions so I can’t speak to how they have changed unfortunately. But I will say everything is snappy and very responsive. No issues whatsoever.
Design is beautiful. Unique but without trying too hard. Sleek yet trendy. Phone is super nice. I did have to put a case on it to protect it long term. Also since the glass is curved, you can’t put a tempered glass protector on it just the film. But I heard the glass is much more durable than years ago. So I should be ok. ( I hope lol)
Speakers are good. Not amazing. Yes loud and clear for sure. But they kinda lack the mid range depth that I am used too. And the sound is loud it does sound a bit tinny imo. Still good but not perfect for me.
If I have to say what I don’t like about the phone, it would be the face unlock. It works but not all the time. And while the fingerprint works great I prefer face unlock because it’s easy and quick. I’m sure Google will fix that this issue with a software update. And being that pixel phones get those updates first it shouldn’t be too long. Also with ios you can add a VIP and get special alerts with special ring tones. And unless I’m missing something you can’t easily add a vip to android phones. I need that feature and I hope the make it easier In the future. I need that for business stuff and I’m sure many others do to.
Other than that this phone is amazing especially at this price point. I know competitors charge way more for these top of the line specs. So you get a great phone for a very reasonable price.

Great phone. I had Pixel 6 before. And this one has a better display that are brighter under the sunlight. Also, battery has improved a lot. The front camera now takes better selfies and has a wider angle. It feels great in the hand.

Outstanding Pixel 7 Pro Phone

This is my first time ever owning a Google Pixel Phone and upon opening the box and checking out the phone for the first time, it feels like a premium quality smartphone with a nice aesthetic build to it.
Display- 1440p resolution is crisp and clear, though you must manually set it to 1440p in your display settings. The 120hz OLED display is bright and vibrant with rich colors and deep blacks. Watching hi res HDR videos is a treat on this device. Scrolling is luxuriously silky smooth and touch responsiveness and sensitivity is top notch. With 1500 nits peak brightness the display is super easy to see clearly outdoors even without maxing the brightness level.
Audio: Audio is clear, good soundstage for phone speakers and even has a bit of bass without distorting. Not at all like the shallow tinny sound you get from most phones.
Camera: The Pixel 7 Pro really shines here. Pictures are clear, sharp and vibrant, simply the best photos I have ever taken. Picture stabilization and zoom stabilization(for the telephoto zoom lens) are a great quality of life feature for someone without steady hands(by someone I mean me). The telephoto lens allows me to get clear closeup shots from quite some distance. Videos are also very vibrant and smooth. The video stabilization allows you to take steady video even while running. Night mode is particularly impressive as in the darkness it appears that you have a an actual light source. Great work by Google!
Performance: With the new Tensor G2 processor and 12GB of RAM this phone will handle anything you wanna throw at it. The phone is always quick and responsive and apps open instantly.
Battery Life: Amazing! I can get a full 24hrs out of it with moderate use. I would prefer more, but with a bright screen and fast(more power consuming) hardware it's a compromise I can live with.
Build quality: The phone has very nice buttons that are firm and clicky and the phone is easy to grip on the sides. The camera bar is aluminum and the body of the phone is surrounded in heavy duty Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which looks very premium and should withstand a lot of abuse, but is a fingerprint and smudge magnet and makes the phone a bit slippery causing it to often slide out of my pocket when sitting. I will definitely be getting a case for this phone.
Biometric Unlock: The Face ID is quick and convenient. The in-screen fingerprint sensor is a finicky at best, the Pixel 7's sensor is finnicky and often doesn't recognize my fingerprint. It seems to give up after 2 tries and forces my to unlock by PIN.
Software notes: Photo unblur is a great feature. You can unblur any pictures in the Google Photos app no matter how old or what camera took the pics, but the results can vary.
Overall, despite some imperfections, this is an outstanding, top notch device, especially if you take a lot of photos or videos.

My New Favorite Phone

Having used both iPhones and various Android-based phones over the past ~15 years, it is quite clear to me that I have found my favorite in the Pixel 7 Pro. Compared to other options out there, the price is competitive, and the performance is top-notch. Here are the things I liked most, along with some items to be mindful of.
Pros:
- First, the display is incredible. The 6.7” screen is much larger than any I have used before, but I welcome this larger size. As I advance in years and my vision isn’t as great as it once was, I found the extra real estate to be helpful, allowing me to increase font size a bit. The refresh rate peaks at 120Hz which allows for incredibly smooth performance. There is basically no bezel in the design of this screen and the curved glass edges make this phone a work of art.
- Phone calls I’ve taken over the past week sound great over both 5G and 4G network connections. Prior Android phones I have used had low speaker volume on calls and I would often be forced to use the speakerphone feature in order to hear people. The Pixel 7 Pro was noticeably louder.
- During phone set-up, I loved the walkthrough that the Google Pixel phone gives you to highlight some of its best features, including the ability to take high quality close-up photos, 10-bit HDR video, and the magic eraser tool to remove unwanted objects from pictures. This was a great way to introduce the Pixel to new users.
- Battery life has been great. With moderate usage, I run it down to 30-40% daily and charge it just once per day. With fast charging it only takes about 30-45 minutes to top it back off.
- Camera/video features are fantastic. My favorites were the 5x optical zoom, the on-screen leveling display to show you if your photos will end up crooked, and autofocus face detection. Low light capabilities were impressive too!
Cons:
- This phone is very slick and easy to drop without a case. Before the case I ordered was delivered, I dropped the phone a few times in my carpeted living room (1-2 foot drops, no damage). Being a larger phone, it is a little awkward to hold unless you have very large hands or have used large phones in the past. I highly suggest a textured case to improve your grip. The case I ordered (pictured) helped a lot and I have not had any issues since.
- A USB-C charging cable was included, but no wall plug. You’ll need to buy your own if you don’t already have one.
If you are looking to upgrade your current phone, the Pixel 7 Pro comes highly recommended from me. I’ve yet to see anything this impressive from top to bottom.

I recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 7 smartphone, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this device. As a loyal Pixel user for several years, this latest iteration continues to exceed my expectations.
Individual Experience:
My experience with the Google Pixel 7 has been exceptional. From the moment I powered it on, I could tell that Google had made significant improvements in terms of both hardware and software. The device feels snappier, smoother, and more responsive than its predecessors.
Performance:
One of the standout features of the Google Pixel 7 is its performance. Powered by the latest processor and ample RAM, this phone handles multitasking, gaming, and resource-intensive apps with ease. Apps launch quickly, and there's virtually no lag, even with numerous applications running simultaneously.
Camera:
The camera on the Pixel 7 continues to impress. Google's expertise in computational photography shines through with stunning photo quality. The improved low-light performance, along with the enhanced Night Sight mode, ensures that you can capture memorable moments in any lighting condition. The addition of new features like the Magic Eraser and Cinematic Pan adds a creative dimension to photography.
Battery Life:
Battery life has always been a strong suit of the Pixel series, and the Pixel 7 is no exception. I can easily get through a full day of heavy usage without worrying about running out of power. The adaptive battery management feature optimizes battery life over time, which is a welcome addition.
Display:
The Pixel 7 boasts a beautiful display with vibrant colors and deep blacks. The refresh rate makes scrolling and navigating through content incredibly smooth. Whether I'm watching videos, browsing the web, or playing games, the display never disappoints.
Software:
Google's clean and streamlined Android experience is one of the main reasons I've stuck with the Pixel series, and the Pixel 7 continues this tradition. The device ships with the latest Android version and will receive timely updates for years to come, ensuring it stays secure and up-to-date.
Design:
The Pixel 7's design is elegant and ergonomic. It feels comfortable to hold, and the choice of materials gives it a premium look and feel. The placement of the fingerprint sensor is intuitive and works flawlessly.
