I dont think I have ever seen a android phone be so fluid, the transitions and animations are buttery smooth. The battery life is excellent , I usually ended the day with at least 20% remaining and this was with heavy usage. The tensor 2 chip absolutely handles anything you can throw at it, games and all apps work without issue. I did not once notice a slow down no matter how many apps I used, google has optimized this phone to make sure it is one of if not the best android phones on the market. I think the thing that pushes the phone over the edge is the google integration, call screening is a game changer in helping me reduce robocalls. Now dont get me wrong when someone calls who isn't a spammer and I just dont have their number saved it is a issue but I think as call screening catches on other will understand what it is and they wont just hang up. Besides the call screening the google integration with recorder/photos/messages/assistant are close to perfect and the best thing about it is all these features just continue to get better with updates. The photo blur function correction feature helped me fix some old pictures that were a bit fuzzy from 3+ years ago (taken on non-pixel phone)which was more than I expected. Speaking of photos it does a really good job and google continues to work its magic with AI based adjustments. What I am more impressed with is the video recording it does the best job with stabilization which has been lacking in all android phones . Over the course of having this phone I want to say everyday I have received a little notification showing me "hey did you know you can do this" and its like opening a new toy to play with. I want to say the only issue I had was a issue with network connection/changing towers and I toggled the adaptive connectivity on/off and that fixed it, otherwise no complaints.

I am having a problem with the new Pixel 7 phone. It’s not that it's not a good phone but I find it sorta underwhelming. Part of the problem is I don’t use a camera all that much. And it's the camera that almost defines this phone. If you're a person that needs a great camera on your phone then you don’t need to look much further. For the price you can get this phone it would have to be on your list. To get a camera that completes with the Pixel line you will have to spend much more. But for me this phone just doesn’t bring anything new to the table. I used to look forward to Google phones because they set the standard for what an Android phone should be. A clean version of Android without the bloat that many other Android phones like Samsung for example are notorious for. But now I find Google's version of Android to be a bit boring. And with microSD cards and headphone jacks being a thing of the past there’s nothing new here for me to get excited about. It also used to be that only Google provided three years of upgrades but even that's not true anymore. I do think this is a nice upgrade from the earlier Pixel phones but even then not enough to upgrade if you are fine with the Pixel phone you might already have. At the mid price level this is a great phone for a lot of people. And it is now a fully mature phone that earlier Pixel phones really weren’t. This might not be a phone for me but it is a very good phone especially if you're a person who uses their camera a lot. Its technical specs are very good at this price and it feels great in the hand. I am a bit on the fence of how the back of the phone rises for the camera but that probably won't be an issue once I find a case for it. I can recommend this phone as the pluses do outweigh the few negatives I have and it is a very good overall value.

I've had every generation pixel since they have been released. The 7 is the best yet! The most noticeable improvement is the battery life. Definitely a huge improvement over previous generations. The addition of face unlock along with the fingerprint scanner is a plus for those that prefer face unlock. The optical fingerprint scanner seems more responsive than the Pixel 6 as well. The new camera updates keep impressing me every year. I rarely ever take a phot on my Pixel with anything other than automatic mode. The new Tensor G2 has fantastic AI features for editing/cleaning up pictures. Images are sharp and clear as usual, just better! Another huge perk of the 7 is the improvements to the video camera modes. The image stabilization is much improved, and video overall is much clearer than in previouls generations. The new screen is crisp with an even higher peak brightness, which is definitely noticeable in bright outdoor conditions. I can't recommend these new PIxel 7's enough. If you are on the fence, or on a bit of a budget, the Pixel 7 offers great battery life, and amazing camera, and awesome AI features at a great price.

Too many flaws for my taste so I returned it. Just an FYI: I MAILED the return versus taking it to the store. This is one of the worst mistakes I've ever made as I still have not received a refund even though it was received on Dec. 8th!

    How did they do it?

This is a bit of a combined review for the P7 and P7P. I just want to give props to google for listening to feedback on issues with the Pixel 6 line. They fixed the modem, the thermals, the fingerprint sensor, and all the little bugs that held that phone back. They improved the finishing, the camera, the haptics, the telephoto...and they kept the price the same even in the face of inflation. If you were able to snag one of these on trade-in and get the $200 GC, you hit the jackpot. Turns out, google has finally figured things out and I expect the P7 and P7P to be in contention for 2022 phone of the year.

Great upgrade to the Pixel line!

Like many other companies, Google tends to update the Pixel lineup of phones every year - and this is the latest (and greatest yet) version of that, the 7th version of the "main line" of Pixel phones (not including the "a" models) and my third edition, having had the Pixel 2 and Pixel 4a 5G before it. Upgrading from the 4a, the 7 brings a LOT of new features, but the biggest thing you notice out of the box is the impressive performance upgrade. In benchmarks, I'm seeing nearly 3x the graphical performance (from ~1700 to ~5200 in 3dmark Wild Life) and nearly double the single core CPU performance (from 569 to 985 in Geekbench). While the multi-core performance is less of an impressive improvement (a still respectable ~40% or thereabouts in Geekbench), you can really feel the difference in day to day use, with apps working more quickly and overall the phone feeling more responsive. The design is familiar though I'm not sure how I feel about the camera bulge on the back - my case will smooth that portion out but it's generally a matter of personal preference. Speaking of cameras, the post-processing here is impressive - including the night sight option and all the various settings, options and additional processing makes it easy to take great pictures and cinematic videos. As with all Pixel line phones, you get a clean build of Android which is great and you get updates to new versions (including major versions and security updates) much faster than custom builds you would find on other phones. Really, the only downside I can see is that they've moved from the physical fingerprint reader on the back of the phone to a reader integrated into the screen which does WORK, but it isn't as faster usable as the ones that are built into the back. The face recognition is usable, but I tend to keep it off since it is less secure than other options. All in all, if you don't mind a slight downgrade in the fingerprinter reader (very slightly), then this could be a just the update you've been waiting for!

Came from an iphone 14 Pro 1TB and Sony Xperia V and there's lots to love about this phone. Huge support for custom roms (if privacy is your thing), large screen, good battery life. The design feels super premium. Make sure to go for the open box items if you want to save a good chunk of cash. You wont be dissappointed.

Great flagship phone for the price

After using the Pixel 7 for a week, I have to say it's remarkably similar to the Pixel 6. I would go as far as to say that unless you're using some of the newer features of the Pixel 7 like Face Unlock or Clear Calling (which is suppose to come in an Android update) you'll be hard press to tell the phones apart. From the perspective of someone who owned a Pixel 6, I wouldn't recommend this upgrade as there aren't enough changes. The front camera has been improved from 8 MP to 10 MP. There's a photo unblur function with the new Tensor G2 chip. Bezel size has been cut down so you're saving 0.1 inch going from the Pixel 6's 6.4'' to the 7's 6.3''. Peak brightness is slightly better, which is good for outdoor use though I rarely ever have to go that high. The battery life doesn't feel any different and technically it has been decreased. However despite the battery's smaller size(4614 mAh vs the 7's 4335 mAh) and upgraded processor, you won't feel much of a difference. If you haven't own a flagship phone for awhile, the Pixel 7 may be worth upgrading to. However if you own any flagship phones from last year (and providing it's still in good condition), I would wait on upgrading. My review may sound negative as I have enjoyed my Pixel 7 a lot, but I'm writing from my own personal experience as someone who upgraded from the 6 to the 7.

Amazing phone. . . but I miss my Samsung

I loooove the operating system and the overall design of this phone. However, switching from samsung to google left me missing a few things (which made me switch back over to the S23 ultra). The pixel 7 pro doesn't have a speaker by the top of the phone when playing videos, which I never even thought about, but makes a huge difference in your viewing experience. I also just missed some of the small things about samsung, like their basic weather app being more simple and navigable, the alarm having the amount of time before the alarm goes off, etc. The little things, and a discount that made the S23 ultra about the same price, made me rethink switching, but if you don't have a strong familiarization to a specific phone brand, the Pixel is the way to go! PS I wish best buy sold colors besides black at their stores. The grey and gold looked amazing!
