Bought Open Box phone sold as being in EXCELLENT condition. Drove 80 miles each way to pick it up. It had two scratches on it. Manager looked at it, agreed not in excellent condition. Geeks looked at it, said it works perfectly. What did the store do about it? NOTHING. Told me to call the corporate number. I then discovered the phones battery is TWO YEARS OLD and has been charged over 220 times. SOMEONE USED THIS PHONE FOR TWO YEARS AND BEST BUY REFURBISHED IT AND SOLD IT AS OPEN BOX IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Corporate said I could return it.

Poor delivery and response. Requested BB to deliver by 07/19 instead UPS tried to deliver on 07/17. No one was available hence it was delivered to ups access point location which is more than 10miles. Horrible and got very poor response. Additionally the box got completely damaged and worrying about the quality of the product now.

    Didn't receive

Didn't receive due to address issue. Replacement was to be sent out, confirmed by two customer service reps. Got what looked like a refund receipt via email and looked as though a refund had been issued instead in my best buy account. Contacted best buy and after giving them all my account info was told they exhausted all their tools and couldn't see a refund had been issued and I would have to call my bank. I said I would like confirmation that if a refund is issued that I replacement isn't going to go out and my account be charged again (this has happened before with a different business) because I didn't want to go buy another phone case and then get charged for a replacement after. The only response was I needed to call my bank and I could call a customer service number if I needed to.

I don't have a problem with the phone, what I have a problem with is Best Buy's customer service. I purchased this phone for over $400 only to find out 15 days later that the Pixel 8a would be coming out in a week at the same price I paid for this one. I feel like I should have been informed of the upcoming release before being sold this one. I tried to return this phone, being that I a Best Buy club member and enjoy extended return times. Right? Nope. Not for cell phones. Cell phones are only exchangeable for 14 days. So their $50 a year membership is worthless, as well. Best Buy is all around lousy. I feel like they owe me about $500 and a new Pixel 8a, but I doubt they will ever pay up. What a ripoff. I do all my shopping elsewhere now.

    Highly disappointed with fingerprint sensor

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently purchased the Pixel A7, and my experience with its fingerprint sensor has been nothing short of disappointing. Despite the phone's overall sleek design and promising features, the fingerprint sensor is a glaring flaw that significantly impacts daily usability. Firstly, the sensor is extremely slow to respond. It often takes multiple attempts to unlock the phone, and even then, it sometimes fails to recognize my fingerprint altogether. This is incredibly frustrating, especially when I need quick access to my phone. Additionally, the accuracy of the fingerprint sensor is abysmal. I have tried re-registering my fingerprints multiple times, but the issue persists. It often misreads my fingerprint, forcing me to resort to using my PIN or pattern to unlock the device. This poor performance is particularly disappointing given the reputation of the Pixel series for delivering quality hardware. The unreliable fingerprint sensor on the Pixel A7 feels like a major step backward and a significant inconvenience in an otherwise decent phone. Overall, the Pixel A7's fingerprint sensor is a major letdown. I hope Google addresses this issue in future updates or models because, as it stands, it severely detracts from the overall user experience.

Battery drains so fast. I tried everything upgrading, uninstalling unused apps, Battery saver mode. I event upgraded to Android 14 when I read in forums that it helped some people. Overall, very bad experience so far with Pixel 7a. And if I try to return, BestBusy warns about some refund charge of $40. This is even worst. I will definetely rethink before buying from Best buy and Google Pixel phones.

DO NOT OPT FOR THE PHONE TRADE-IN!! The department is so poorly managed that they can lose the phone after it's confirmed arrival and then deny paying the trade-in value because they can't find the phone. I have delivery confirmation proof it was delivered but they say it isn't their fault they can't find it (porch pirates in the department, perhaps?) so they don't need to pay the trade-in. Horrible business practice and customer service.

This phone made me realize how good Galaxy phones are and that Google is a software company not a hardware company. This phone heats up a lot doing mundane things. The cellular signal is terrible and I get constant dropped calls. Id honestly would recommend instead a Galaxy or One plus phone hands down.

Bad modem. Contacted Google twice and AT&T 4 times about not getting notifications. Yesterday I was out and about which was the first time I used data outside of my personal Wi-Fi network, and had so many issues browsing the web. Did research on this phone and found out that Google is still using a subpar modem in their devices. I’ve had a Pixel 7a, a 7 and a 7 Pro and I’ve returned them all - this 7a is going back today. Never had an issue with my Pixel 6 as many have disclosed. Google can brag all about the camera, but without the basics of a smartphone, you’re left without a working device on cellular towers. Pixel 7 line is definitely worth bypassing.

Bug in texting is a deal breaker

This phone makes me miss my Pixel 3 so much... Setting up was fast, especially if you had a Pixel before. Transition was seamless. However, texting is a big problem. Occasionally this phone doesn't receive messages from some people in the contact. And it is hard to find out unless they send you a screenshot through another app. This flaw with texting has been causing me so much trouble in communication and interpersonal relationship I would return it for a refund if I could. Apart from this problem, this phone also doesn't have a headphone jack; it already starts to freeze when restarting (and it's only been 3 months); and the 'hey Google' command stopped working the next day after setting up. As a Pixel fan, I'm utterly disappointed.

I bought this phone about two or three months ago, so I can confidently give my opinion about it. This phone does not have anything you expect from a phone. The main camera technology is no different from the technology of ten years ago, maybe even worse, and the camera quality is lower than all the phones I have seen. The front camera has awful quality in low light that you can't even believe that this phone is for 2023, seeing its quality, you might think that this phone is for 2003. The battery charges very slowly and discharges very quickly. You have to charge the phone two or three times a day. The touch screen doesn't work sometimes, especially around the edges of the phone and you have to touch it at different angles or try with another finger. This phone is not even close to the mid-range phone. I gave one star, if I could, I would not give any stars and definitely return the phone, but unfortunately it is not possible now.

Avoid!!! I've had different Google Pixels for years now and this one is horrible. I'm on my second 7A, the first one being replaced by Google because it had so many issues, and the replacement is no better. Between both 7a's I've had issues with fingerprint, frozen screen, touchscreen, apps closing, apps disappearing, overheating battery, worst battery life I've ever experienced, fast battery drainage while not being used, random factory rests, worst talk to text I've experienced, and cell service is worse then my 6a. My daughter's 7a is also horrible. Three out of three 7a's are pieces of junk. This phone never should have been released.

I needed a new phone. I did a deep dive research on cell phones priced under $500.00. Anybody and everybody that had something to say or wrote a review - The Google Pixel 7a Phone was (is) NUMBER ONE on the list. To say some reviews are a tad over the top falls short. WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CELL PHONE I'VE EVER OWNED. In fact, I exchanged the first one. I am going to Best Buy to return the second cell phone. Call quality - WHATS THAT ? NEVER EVER WILL I BUY A PIXEL PHONE. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT GOOGLE SEARCH IS OFFICIALLY USELESS. AND THERE PIXEL 7a cell phone is 100% CRAP - PARDON MY LANGUAGE BUT, I CALL IT THE WAY I SEE IT.

Not impressed with staff's ability to highlight device weaknesses. Who knows, maybe they could have sold me up to something with less downside. Battery life poor. Google's optimization settings maze-worthy. Doubt Joe customer could prove he received a factory lemon battery. Using time w/AccuBattery diagnostic app time (and power) consuming.
