Customers are saying

Customers regard the Pixel 7a 5G 128GB (Unlocked) highly for its excellent camera quality, impressive battery life, and ease of use. Many appreciate the screen size and find it offers great value for the price. While some users miss the headphone jack and note occasional heating issues, the positive feedback on the camera and overall performance outweighs these concerns. The phone's design and smooth refresh rate are also frequently praised.

Last year’s Pixel 6A was a good all-round phone. For this year’s model, Google has even further refined it by adding an all-new 64mp sensor, 90hz refresh rate screen, wireless charging, and doubling the base storage to store all those pictures. Trust me pictures you will want to take if there’s one thing Pixel phones are known is their picture-taking capabilities. Not is all perfect like minor quirks with battery life just being decent and the display could be a tad bit higher for outdoor visibility. Starting off with build quality it’s very good. Even with a plastic back that actually feels and looks like glass the phone feels sturdier. Comparing it to the PIxel they both feel and look identical even with the PIxel 7 having a glass back. The only difference is the PIxel 7A is slightly smaller. Overall I like the design of the Pixel 7A. It’s a well-built phone that doesn’t feel cheap at all. In the back, you get a pair of cameras with the primary sensor coming in at 64mp and an ultra-wide 13mp camera. This would actually be the first time that Google has actually upgraded the camera systems for the Pixel A lineup. For years Google has been using the same camera sensor, that somehow still managed to outperform phones that came with new camera sensors. That’s how good the Google camera computational software has been, and with this year having a newer bigger sensor to work it, expect some amazing camera shots. For still photos, the only other phone that could beat this phone would be its siblings the Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 7 or flagship phones from Apple and Samsung that cost as twice as much as this phone. My favorite modes are the portrait shots and the x8 zoom that can actually take a usable picture. Over the weekend I took a couple of portrait photos and pretty much all the feedback was like whoa this looks very good. Picture quality from the Pixel 7A is top-notch even in low-light situations. The results you get at the end are crisp vibrant detailed pictures. The front 13mp camera does not disappoint either. Video recording is still not as good as Samsung or iPhone cameras. It’s not terrible at all but when you do compare them side by side you will notice. Hopefully, Google can somehow work its magic with video recording. If video recording is something that you will be doing a lot of, I would recommend going with either a Samsung or iPhone instead. Overall for still photos the Pixel phones continue to be at the top of the smartphone camera hill. Battery life is ok can be better. Even after a week's usage, I still struggle to get a full day. This could be related to the phone still learning my pattern usage to better optimized the battery for my usage. Also, it doesn’t help my previous phone was a 13 Pro Max. Now my wife does have a Pixel 7 and her battery life is much better after a week or two. During my usage, I did have the always-on display and 90hz refresh rate enabled (by default this is off). I do consider myself sort of a heavy user. If you’re a light user I’m sure you would get better life than me. I will suggest keeping the always-on display mode off. Having it on drain my battery by 10% overnight. If there are any drastic changes, I’ll make sure to provide an update. Performance wise no complaints from my end. After all, it’s using the same Tensor G2 chip found on their higher-end models like the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7. With 8 GB of ram, I did not experience any slowdowns. One thing for sure I’ve noticed is how much quicker it takes photos and processes them compare to previous Pixel A models. One thing for sure is if an actual phone deserves the smartphone title it would be the Pixel Phone. I just love using the call screening option for unknown numbers. Helps to maneuver through the sea of spam calls. It also has a hold feature so when you’re put on hold it will hold the call for you. I do like how the extra features are not just added for the sake of just adding stuff, they’re actual features that are useful in certain situations. There are so many features that I’ve not discovered, so I highly suggest searching on YouTube for a Pixel features video. Even though this year’s version comes in price slightly higher the PIxel 7A still offers a lot of bang for your buck. You still get the amazing AI-powered cameras but with this year's addition of a higher refresh rate screen, wireless charging, and IP67 protection from the elements. Google continues to refine its A-series phones and so far they have not disappointed. I highly recommend the Pixel 7A not only for the cameras but for the smart capabilities that it brings to the table.
