Pixies in my Pixel
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the phone but find the program frustrating. Simple things like getting back to previous screen and changing obnoxious default settings are difficult when they should be intuitive.

The worst battery life I've experienced since 2019
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dont kid yourself. The phone is great, but I've used Pixel 6A and now 7A and Tensor chips and the modems are horrible. The battery life is like my S9, which is a 2018/2019 phone. If you work at home all day and don't use your phone, then it's a good phone at the cost of your battery health for charges. But for most people you'll be sorely disappointed because the battery is so bad. I returned this phone and am temporarily using a scratched screen 6A. 6A, while subpar battery life, is better than the 7A. Sheesh what a bad run of phones from Google. I hate it this 6A too.

Paid for used- excellent condition, got used- good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a refurbished pixel 7a in used-excellent condition online. When I got to the store they gave me a used-good condition pixel 7a. There was a few scratches on the screen and a dent on the top of the phone. Fortunately it seems to work fine. Make sure you double check the quality of the phone before you leave the store. I didn't have time to return it or swap it out so I was stuck with it.

What a turnaround in 3.5 years
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In Oct 2019 I reviewed the Pixel 4. Its pricing and features were my main issues, and I ultimately gave it a “do not recommend”. Fast forward to this new Pixel 7a and what a difference 3.5 years makes. Google has evidently listened to the feedback as this 7a is excellent with the only real downside being you can only get it with 128GB storage. The phone is evenly matched with my much more expensive current phone - but once you consider pricing, direct Google Android updates, etc. - I would recommend the Pixel 7a - IF you can get by on 128GB of storage. Setting up the phone was straightforward. Open box, charge phone, turn on and follow instructions to migrate your old phones settings, etc. to this phone – using provided USB-C cable (a USB-A to USB-C adapter is also included). At the end of the process the 7a was an exact duplicate of the old android phone. I will say that the 7a got very warm during this process but since then we have had no issues when using daily. Removed sim out of old phone and put in new one and you are good to go. You may have to sign back into some apps but our saved wifi’s were carried over. The face recognition works well, and it is nice to just pick up the phone and have it unlocked. Fingerprint ID is now included. Setting it up was simple and you can add multiple prints. Having this feature is great as most apps now allow you to use fingerprints to sign-in thus avoiding ID & passwords. I am not a fan of using hand gestures so went into settings and put back the 3 row buttons. They worked as expected. As is the case with most phones these days there is no jack to allow wired headphone use. You can buy a USB-C to headphone jack adapter for relatively low cost. They did include USB 3.0 to USB-C adapter as well as USB-C cable – no charger. The phone is rated IP67 for water/dust protection and has scratch resistant screen using Gorilla Glass 3. The 6.1-inch screen has up to 90Hz response and looks great with very little bezel. Functions include Assistant Voice Typing (use voice to type, edit and send messages), Voice Message Transcript (read audio messages), Quick Phrases (hands free pre-defined phrases), Clear Calling, etc. The Live Translate worked well for the few English to French phrases I tried. It is quick and accurate and would be a huge asset when traveling. Camera (64 meg rear and 13 meg front) comes with a litany of options. You get Googles Night Sight, Magic Eraser, Super Res Zoom, Long Exposure and Photo unblur and Real Tone - to help fix those not so perfect pics. The phone is 5G wireless network compatible as well as 802.11e for wifi and can use wi-fi calling. Also, incudes VPN by Google that you can turn on/off. Now has wireless charging! As far as overall size/weight - it is not too large nor is it too small – it’s just right, I think. 1-year warranty This is referred to as Pixels entry level phone but really it is mid-range. It is a huge leap forward in functionality/features and pricing. The only real drawback is 128GB storage, but you could take money saved and purchase additional Cloud Storage. I definitely recommend.

Please do not buy this phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone about two or three months ago, so I can confidently give my opinion about it. This phone does not have anything you expect from a phone. The main camera technology is no different from the technology of ten years ago, maybe even worse, and the camera quality is lower than all the phones I have seen. The front camera has awful quality in low light that you can't even believe that this phone is for 2023, seeing its quality, you might think that this phone is for 2003. The battery charges very slowly and discharges very quickly. You have to charge the phone two or three times a day. The touch screen doesn't work sometimes, especially around the edges of the phone and you have to touch it at different angles or try with another finger. This phone is not even close to the mid-range phone. I gave one star, if I could, I would not give any stars and definitely return the phone, but unfortunately it is not possible now.

Best Buy Stole My Money!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't have a problem with the phone, what I have a problem with is Best Buy's customer service. I purchased this phone for over $400 only to find out 15 days later that the Pixel 8a would be coming out in a week at the same price I paid for this one. I feel like I should have been informed of the upcoming release before being sold this one. I tried to return this phone, being that I a Best Buy club member and enjoy extended return times. Right? Nope. Not for cell phones. Cell phones are only exchangeable for 14 days. So their $50 a year membership is worthless, as well. Best Buy is all around lousy. I feel like they owe me about $500 and a new Pixel 8a, but I doubt they will ever pay up. What a ripoff. I do all my shopping elsewhere now.

Heats up, terrible cellular signal
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone made me realize how good Galaxy phones are and that Google is a software company not a hardware company. This phone heats up a lot doing mundane things. The cellular signal is terrible and I get constant dropped calls. Id honestly would recommend instead a Galaxy or One plus phone hands down.

Better in some ways, worse in others.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thoroughly enjoyed this phone, although taking photos of moving kids felt worse than with the 4a I previously had. The photos that did come clear were amazing. After about 11 months, I started getting battery quality issues. I am disappointed at the quality of the phone.

Very Disappointed!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phone got hot. I had NO signal in my home even though I have an individual cell booster there. The only place there was a signal was in the T-Mobile store! I had to pay a restocking fee to Best Buy even though the phone was defective. My daughter in law had the same phone with the same problem. I purchased a OnePlus from OnePlus and am very pleased with it.

Didn't receive
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't receive due to address issue. Replacement was to be sent out, confirmed by two customer service reps. Got what looked like a refund receipt via email and looked as though a refund had been issued instead in my best buy account. Contacted best buy and after giving them all my account info was told they exhausted all their tools and couldn't see a refund had been issued and I would have to call my bank. I said I would like confirmation that if a refund is issued that I replacement isn't going to go out and my account be charged again (this has happened before with a different business) because I didn't want to go buy another phone case and then get charged for a replacement after. The only response was I needed to call my bank and I could call a customer service number if I needed to.

Hard pass on 7a!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Avoid!!! I've had different Google Pixels for years now and this one is horrible. I'm on my second 7A, the first one being replaced by Google because it had so many issues, and the replacement is no better. Between both 7a's I've had issues with fingerprint, frozen screen, touchscreen, apps closing, apps disappearing, overheating battery, worst battery life I've ever experienced, fast battery drainage while not being used, random factory rests, worst talk to text I've experienced, and cell service is worse then my 6a. My daughter's 7a is also horrible. Three out of three 7a's are pieces of junk. This phone never should have been released.
