recently purchased a google 7a at Best Buy and I have to say it was an excellent experience. Matt was a great source of information and guidance and we were in and out in no time considering my wife bought the same phone at the Verizon store a week before and had a disastrous time that took hours and was very frustrating.

Google Pixel good, Samsung Galaxy better

I decided to try a Pixel phone after owning Samsung phones for the last several years. There were a few things that I was beginning to dislike about Samsung phones a figured that it was time for a change. I liked the Google Pixel 7a but ended up returning it for a Samsung Galaxy a54. The Pixel 7a was less customizable than the Samsung phones that I was used to. I was flabbergasted that you couldn't set group ringtones on the 7a. I own/co-own 3 businesses and like to have an idea as to who's calling me when my phone rings. The battery life was not very good either. Considering that I'm someone who is not a gamer or social media person, I thought that the battery would do better. It barely got me through the day. The phone did boot up much quicker than any Samsung that I've ever owned and I did like the display. I made the right choice in switching back to the Samsung. They addressed some of the things that were irritating me so in the long run I'm good.

Love everything besides the fingerprint scanner. I've owned a pixel 3a, 6, and now a 7a. The 3 had by far the most reliable fingerprint reader. Face ID works well but only for unlocking phone not for any biometric locks.

    Really Mediocre Phone Experience

I had to get this phone becuase my Pixel 6 refused to charge the battery jept overheating but since I had the phone for two years it didn't have any sort of warranty anymore. And I got the Pixel 7a becuase I need a phone for work, T-Mobile had it in stock, and I already had the pixel buds pro and thought why not stay with the Pixel lineup. But the Pixel 7a has worse battery life and slower charging than the Pixel 6 and Google does it on purpose to make you nuy their flagship phones. It's criminal how slow this thing charges if you don't buy Google's special charger, and the nattery is not an all day nattery either. I start my day at 6:30 if I do not at all stream anything from a streaming service or even music for more than an hour then yeah it'll last all day long till 6 with like 13 percent battery. It's snappy but mine lags sometimes, battery doesn't overheat but the system ui likes to just stop working when using picture in picture mode and another app. And now lately it's been doing this cute thing where it just disconnects from data and the data has to be turned on and off again or it'll fix itself automatically after 2-4 minutes. Don't bother with the Pixel A series phones unless you hardly use your phone, with all the sales it's more worth it to buy the regular mid flagship or full flagship pixel phones because they have larger batteries and faster charging but that pales in comparison to Samsung phones and Iphones. Pixel phones try to compete and their security is awesome but they have too many bugs and battery life is too awful to dismiss the bugs.

going from the 6 pro the the 7a is technically a slight downgrade, however I prefer how this phone is smaller and everything else the pixel brings is still pretty great. do wish my camera was as good as before but alas.

    Downgrade from the 4a

This is my third generation of a pixel phone coming from a pixel 4a, previously on a Motorola X4. This is the first time that I've upgraded my phone to a new generation where it actually felt like a downgrade. There's no AUX port, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work most of the time so one handed use isn't an option. On top of the fingerprint scanner not working the phone will double/triple register each tap when typing in the code. The home screen crashes from time to time. Granted that could be an issue related to using Nova Launcher but all in all this phone really softens my B.

Heating up way to fast and seem like any use of the phone makes it heat up. Battery drains pretty fast. 2 day life spans on battery works if you are not using the phone.

This is a great affordable phone does everything you want it to with speed and the frame rate is consistent even when gaming! Only bad thing so far is that overheating is an issue, other than that would highly recommend.
