    Software trumps Hardware

The standard Pixel 8 is probably the best "Small" android phone one can buy currently. The software is phenomenal and Google is promising 8 years of parts availability and software updates to top it all off. The upgraded camera sensors on top of Google's excellent camera software make this potentially the best Smartphone Camera for regular pictures on the market. The photo app is easy to use and makes light editing on the go easy. Then there's the awesome Pixel Exclusive perks, like call screening where you can have the Google assistant answer unknown calls for you and ask who it is or whatever else you ask it to say then show whatever the caller responds with as text for you to read on the screen in real time. The phone can also wait on hold for you and automatically switch you back to the call when you're taken off of hold. On top of many other Quality of Life things that can be found only on pixel phones. Battery life out of the box is okay, but give it a few days and once the phone learns how you use the phone battery life will improve to what I consider "good".

Incredible phone! I've been waiting for Google to get serious for a while now and finally this phone really proves it! It's also got a lot of smarts in it too. For me it's always been the little things that made the difference. If you're thinking about switching from iPhone or Samsung and you're not stuck in their ecosystems, and you have some wiggle room, then this is really a great phone to have! Who knows, you might even want to experience Google's ecosystem! The watch, the earbuds, and even Chromebooks are all closely integrated between Android and Chrome OS now. Send Cellular text messages from your laptop or tablet? Yep it's there! Take photos of your phone and automatically see it on your Chromebook? Yes that's there too! Pick up where you left off viewing a web page on any Android Device or Chromebook? Yep that's always been there! Get notifications on your Chromebook from your smartphone? Yes again! Google Assistant everywhere between the two and beyond with all of the Google home products as well! Everything is voice activated now and you can talk to almost every device with just your voice! And it's only getting better!

This phone is the perfect size that feels great in the hand with the rounded corners and edge. It provides the best value for any premium phone. The screen is bright and smooth. Photos are the best of any phone in its category. 7 years of updates is unheard of for any phone. I will be able to keep this phone for a long time.

Great phone, good size. I already had a Pixel 8 Pro but wanted to have a backup phone, and the size of the Pixel 8 is much more manageable. I love my Pixel 8 Pro but have actually switched to the Pixel 8 as my daily driver because it is a better size and does everything need. I figure if I'm going somewhere or doing something where the telescopic lens on the Pixel 8 Pro would be handy then I'll swap to it, but for daily use the Pixel 8 has been perfect.

This phone is truly amazing, nice design, great camera, in low light the 0.5 lens in video could get a bit blurry, but regular pictures and videos are fire, could take some pretty cool photos at night...

ehhh. So after two years, this phone is starting to struggle--I'd expect more from a "higher" end phone (based on cost) from a major manufacturer. The phone itself has a great camera, is a nice size, is well made. but... after two years touch response is poor, battery life is diminishing faster (and I'm a pretty low-end user; usually don't need to charge but every 3 days). All in all, unless there is another amazing deal, this is probably my last google phone.

I love my new Pixel 8. The battery life is incredible. I could barely go a few hours before my old phone would die on me. The photo quality and edit features are great. I'm still getting use to the swipe feature, it's frustrating trying to look through pictures but I'm sure I'll eventually get use to it.

Probably the best phone you can get for everyday use. Not for gaming though, Get a OnePlus or a Samsung if you want to game. But for maps, music, everyday things its perfect, the battery life is amazing, and the camera is one of the best I've seen as well as the camera app.

The pixel is great. The camera is really good, the user interface takes some getting used to after being on a Samsung Galaxy for so long, but so far I like it. The battery life is excellent. It'll go the whole day of constant usage before needing to be charged.

Excellent build quality. I really love the matt finish. The camera is also excellent. The main magic happens after processing the image. Google really does magic!! I love this size as it is easier to use in one hand. Overall its an amazing upgrade for me who is coming from an iPhone XR.

The Pixel 8 has been an excellent upgrade from my old Pixel 5. The battery has lasted all day, every day. The phone does not become overheated. Transition from the old phone to the new was very smooth, and has all the capability I expected from the new version of Android.

This phone is a nice step up from my Pixel 6a. One of my favorite things about it is its size--it's a little smaller than my 6a, and I prefer phones to be a little smaller than it seems like most flagship phones are these days. My other favorite thing is the price--BestBuy had it in stock and on sale for $399. I got it the same day I cracked my screen on my 6a and realized how much it would cost to fix my old phone.

Left the Android platform many years ago. Decided to return after much research. This phone has been great. Easy to set up, use and AI available features are spot on, and not just for photos. Love the Virtual Phone services, file handling and the Play Store.
