Coming from Pixel 7 Pro, this one feels like a better fit for me, size-wise. Still has all the good things I loved about P7P. Was worried that I'd be downgrading on camera capabilities but the camera on Pixel 8 is amazing.

Switched from an iPhone 13, so this is my first pixel device! I'm impressed! Processor could use some work but the camera speaks for itself.

Got this open box, and 3 months in I've had no problems with it. I do miss the back button from my old pixel 4a, especially as I find it a bit uncomfortably large. But I have a general preference for smaller phones, and those are harder to come by these days

Overall, there's nothing "wrong" with the phone. Coming from a 2 year old iPhone, the largest downside of the pixel is the CPU performance. I don't see how the tensor g3 is considered a flagship CPU, the performance is either even or worse than my old iPhone. Pixel also has VERY limited customization compared to other android phones out of the box, which means that to really customize you will have to leave the pixel launcher (which is a main selling point) and use a different launcher. My experience is that other launchers hinder performance slightly. The camera is good, I haven't done enough testing to reach a conclusive opinion but so far I haven't been blown away. Apps run much worse than iPhone generally. If you use snapchat regularly I wouldn't get this phone. Runs worse than my even older iPhone 11!! For the sale price of 550 I think this phone is a good option but nothing I've experienced leads me to believe that google made a flagship device. Overall I probably would get a different phone if I could go back but there's nothing too terrible with this one. Bio metrics are good when they work, the lighting requirements for reliable face unlock mean that you will have to get used to using the fingerprint sensor (which should have been an ultrasonic sensor) whenever there is less than direct lighting on your face. I'm just glad I didn't spend more money and get the same tensor g3 in the more expensive pro phone.

First off the price is insane. This was a gift for my poopsie for his birthday and honestly it seems more like a cheap throw away phone sadly enough Samsung devices are better, I should've went with a upgraded version of that. But....I wanted to get him the GREAT GOOGLE phone that in itself is a laugh.. You can believe I was really mad especially when I did my research of this device thinking it was fully loaded and amazing an my poopsie will love it.. He only loves it do to it coming from me other then that the phone works and I can't return it believe me I asked him if he wanted a upgraded Samsung instead of a Google phone. He said no he didn't want to hurt my feeling I said nuts to that if you don't like it then lets take it back. I should've just returned it and got a Samsung.. ugh!!! There not many features for the price and being its a google phone you would think it would have way more. When they did this phone it was easier to put everything in the camera's however the night time colorful shots really are lacking even with the enhancement is a joke we took a picture of the beautiful Christmas Tree downtown at night for the beautiful glow of the lights. My poopsie took a few pictures with his phone in different settings yes even the night and it was absolute crap. He then took a picture with my Samsung A71 5G device an it came out like you were looking at the lights with your eyes like you were standing there. So honest opinion don't buy this phone...

Excellent customer service. My phone broke and the customer service went above and beyond to get me store credit so I could purchase a new one so I wouldn't be out of a phone. They didnt have to do that they could have made me do a mail replacement, but the store in VA Beach again went above and beyond. It's this difference in customer service of why I make the trip to buy at Best Buy and talk to real people.

Good build quality, great camera, average battery. I put it side by side with my Pixel 7, leave them idle for few days and and it seems to have even worse battery life than Pixel 7.

The Google Pixel line has always been a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, the Pixel 8 has some short comings that cannot be excused for a phone that's $699. The phone unfortunately stutters when doing simple tasks such as taking pictures or changing apps. The device will also drain battery quickly doing every day web browsing and light gaming for a few minutes. I unfortunately think this is due to software and the November Security patch has not helped matters. This has been a pain point on many Pixel devices (I have consistently had a Pixel since the Pixel 1). Coming from my Pixel 7 I can safely say Google still has work to do.

It's a pretty decent phone. I like that it's pink, and easier to reach across the screen with my snap hands.
