Nice long battery life that gets me over a day with moderate use. Camera is magnificent. I switched over from a Samsung Galaxy and my one qualm with this phone is that the apps cannot be organized in the full app list to hide some of the not regularly used apps.

The Google Pixel 8 in Obsidian is a photography powerhouse, boasting an impressive camera system that truly stands out. The primary 50MP wide-angle lens captures stunning detail and vibrant colors, providing a fantastic overall image quality. Google's renowned computational photography techniques enhance the shooting experience, ensuring sharpness and clarity even in challenging lighting conditions. The inclusion of Night Sight and Astrophotography modes further solidify its low-light capabilities, allowing users to capture breathtaking shots in various settings. In addition to its primary lens, the Pixel 8 features a 12MP ultra-wide lens that expands the creative possibilities. This lens excels in capturing expansive landscapes or fitting more subjects into the frame, making it an ideal choice for group shots or architectural photography. The ultra-wide lens maintains excellent color accuracy and detail, delivering a consistent and cohesive visual experience across different shooting scenarios. For selfie enthusiasts, the Pixel 8's 12MP front-facing camera is a standout feature. Equipped with advanced facial recognition and portrait mode capabilities, it ensures that your self-portraits are not only sharp but also beautifully composed. The front camera's ability to create natural bokeh effects adds a professional touch to selfies, making the Pixel 8 a top contender for those who prioritize high-quality front-facing camera performance. Overall, the Google Pixel 8's camera system is a comprehensive package, delivering exceptional versatility and image quality for both amateur and professional photographers alike.

Google Pixel 8: Exceeded my expectations! I'm absolutely thrilled with my Google Pixel 8 and can't recommend it enough! It's exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Here's why I'm giving it a perfect 5-star rating: Amazing camera: The Pixel 8 camera is simply outstanding. It takes incredible photos and videos in any lighting condition, thanks to the upgraded sensors and advanced image processing. I'm particularly impressed with the Night Sight feature, which captures clear and detailed photos even in low-light situations. Long-lasting battery: The battery life on this phone is phenomenal. I easily get through a full day of heavy use without needing to recharge. And when I do need to top up, the fast charging feature is a lifesaver. Sleek design and build quality: The Pixel 8 has a beautiful and sleek design that feels comfortable to hold. The phone also feels very well-built and sturdy. Clean and smooth software: The Pixel 8 runs on stock Android 13, which is a breath of fresh air. It's free from bloatware and offers a smooth and lag-free user experience. Plus, you're guaranteed timely software updates directly from Google. Additional features: I love the other features like the in-display fingerprint sensor, water resistance, and integration with Google Assistant. Overall: The Google Pixel 8 is an exceptional phone that delivers top-notch performance in all aspects. It's the perfect combination of a fantastic camera, long-lasting battery, clean software, and a beautiful design. If you're looking for a powerful and reliable smartphone that won't disappoint, the Pixel 8 is definitely worth considering.

I had a Google pixel 7 and I fell in love with the pixel family of products! Unfortunately my old phone has been stolen so I decided to upgrade to the pixel 8 and I couldn't be happier . The camera is improved with amazing features like magic eraser and improved night vision. Longer battery and increased protection against spam calls which I love! Plus it has the ability to customized like an iPhone with widgets, a color theme and unique clock displays

This phone is the perfect size and has a great camera BUT it runs hot. It disconnects from Android Auto every minute or two. The battery life sucks and it gets hot when you charge it. My $300 Motorola G Power 5G 2024 never gets too hot and never disconnects from Android Auto when I am working. This is the third Pixel phone that has given me similar issues (Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 also did that). I will stick with phones with Mediatek and Exynos chips as even my Motorola Stylus 5G 2024 with Snapdragon 6 gen 1 was often disconnecting from Android Auto. Even though the Stylus 2023 4G with Mediatek Helio chip did not. Tensor and mid range Snapdragon keep having this problem. I work for Amazon and I depend on Android Auto 6 hours a day so I know what I am talking about.

Been using it for over a week and absolutely love it. Had two pro phones before this, pixel 7 pro and iPhone 14 pro and used to keep dropping both of them. Realised I don't really do much with the "pro" models so decided to pick up the pixel 8 and it is the perfect size and does everything I need from my phone. Plus with best buy's ongoing offers, got over a $1000 worth of stuff for around $225 do that was a no brainer.

I have been using this phone for two weeks now and so far have been quite satisfied with it. The camera is amazing compared to my previous phone (iphone 13 mini). The phone runs smoothly and the battery life is decent. It would be great if a smaller size modal is available.

Love this phone. I previously had a Pixel 5 and loved the size and shape. When I upgraded to the 7 it was good but too big and heavy and the fingerprint sensor sucked. Now on the 8 the fingerprint sensor and face unlock are superior to the 7 for me. The 120hz and super bright display is awesome. The size and weight is very comparable to the Pixel 5 but now with the tensor G3 instead of the budget processor of the 5. Overall very happy with the purchase and pre-order/trade in experience with Best buy.

    Best Android To Date

Of all Androids I've tested, including a recent Galaxy and all of the recent years of Pixels, this is my favorite because of native Google apps, Pixel UI > Samsung's UI (which is better than any of the other Android manufacturer UIs), and other features and functionality exclusive to Pixel models. And the Pixel 8 has some features that are actually a little different than previous Pixels, even though I estimate Pixels that still are in active update cycle will get them. But without going into item by item detail, the hardware and software are super. I believe Pixels are underrated because of being a little late in the game with other higher end Androids, especially Samsung of course. I will make a note that battery life is especially important to me, and this one certainly lasts a full day without getting into critical level with moderate to medium-heavy use and updating and file syncing. Google has done great with battery life the last few years. And just another note, it's nice to see the continued screen adjustment of coloring and shading when in ultra-bright sunlight, ever since the Pixel 5 series, where it seemed to borrow technology from the old Windows Phones that had this...where the screen doesn't wash out and the coloring adjusts for a very seeable screen. A feature Apple and others have tried with other tech but not as successful if at all (except it seems 2022-23 iPhones have a deeper brightness that does do better in bright sunlight, finally). For Android seekers as well as devotees, I highly recommend this if you are in the market for a new phone.

My only pick for a phone is Pixel, and I was concerned that my previous phone wouldn't be matched by a new one. How wrong I was. The Pixel 8 is an incredible model with an incredibly affordable price. Pics are, as with my last Pixel, so clear. Battery lasts so long that sometimes I forget that I need to charge. Review of the Pixel 8: Google's Latest Flagship Smartphone The Pixel 8 is the latest flagship smartphone from Google, and it's a worthy successor to the Pixel 7. It features a sleek new design, a more powerful processor, an improved camera system, and longer battery life. Design The Pixel 8 has a unibody glass and metal design that is both stylish and durable. It's available in three colors: black, white, and green. The phone is also IP68 water and dust resistant, so you can take it with you wherever you go without worry. The Pixel 8 is slightly larger than its predecessor, but it's still comfortable to hold and use. The back of the phone is curved, which makes it easier to grip. The power button and volume rocker are located on the right side of the phone, and the fingerprint sensor is located on the back. Display The Pixel 8 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display is bright and colorful, and it's perfect for watching videos or playing games. The Pixel 8 also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and animations look smooth. Camera The Pixel 8 has a triple-lens rear camera system that consists of a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor. The camera system is excellent, and it takes stunning photos and videos. The Pixel 8 also has a 12MP front-facing camera that's perfect for selfies. The main sensor on the Pixel 8 is one of the best in the business. It takes sharp and detailed photos, even in low light. The ultrawide sensor is also very good, and it's great for taking landscape photos or group shots. The telephoto sensor has a 5x optical zoom, which is perfect for getting close-up shots of distant objects. The Pixel 8 also has a number of camera features that make it easy to take great photos. These features include Night Sight, which helps you take clear photos in low light; Portrait Mode, which blurs the background of your photos to make your subject stand out; and Super Res Zoom, which lets you zoom in on your photos without losing detail. Performance The Pixel 8 is powered by the Google Tensor G2 processor, which is one of the most powerful mobile processors on the market. The phone is incredibly fast and responsive, and it can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease. The Pixel 8 also has 8GB of RAM, which is more than enough for most users. Battery life The Pixel 8 has a 4,500mAh battery that provides excellent battery life. The phone can easily last for a full day on a single charge, even with heavy use. The Pixel 8 also supports fast charging, so you can quickly power it up when you're running low on battery. Overall The Pixel 8 is a fantastic smartphone that offers a great combination of style, performance, and camera quality. It's one of the best smartphones on the market, and it's sure to please even the most demanding users.

Everyone said it was a good phone. The only good thing I can say is that it looks pretty (the glass back and color are very nice). Everything else is not worth at the original price point. It started to heat up and having mic issues within a week of purchase. Sent it to google to have it fixed, they fixed the mic thing but phone still heats up with regular browsing with all flashes like animations/drawers etc turned off. It's a powerful piece of hardware but it's not well optimized like Samsung and not worth the price. IMO old gen pixels had better camera quality too. I have had this pixel for a year and would not buy again if given the chance (unless under 300). I would opt for Samsung flagship instead or regular galaxy series at the original phone purchase cost.

I've been on an annual Pixel upgrade since they introduced wireless charging into the Nexus/Pixel lineup. I upgraded to the Pixel 8 from the Pixel 7 and am extremelly happy. Everything works perfect for me and it is a pleasant upgrade. I am not a power user so I get plenty of battery life, the underscreen fingerprint sensor works great for me, and the improved facial ID is great. Not to mention, the size is perfect! I dont like big phones, so the non-pro Pixels are my go-to.

Since the Pixel 6, Google has truly been refining their lineup in a way they hadn't done up to that point. The 8 now stands as overall the best iteration yet. Pretty much all the features you would want from a flagship are here, and couple with Google's excellent software features makes this a compelling package. The screen is outstanding, the cameras as good as ever, and Android 14 tops it off with an overall pleasant experience.
