Great example of current smartphone tech

What can one say regarding the smartphones of 2020s? So much technology in a compact package. Levels of circuit integration unthinkable just a few years ago. As an engineer, I am beyond impressed; in awe. The Pixel 8 Pro looks like a million other smartphones out there, a smidgen better in display, a bit faster response time. I loaded a new OS, Grapheneos; it slows the startup time a few seconds but doesn't seem to hinder operation at all. I put in the T-mobile SIM card from my Pixel 7 Pro; a few seconds later, I was connected voice and data. The camera takes beautiful snapshots--I only use a dedicated camera these days for supertelephoto work. Google promises 5 years of updates. Probably this will be a relic of ancient technology by then.

Percefect size for everyday phone. I tried our a few phones within the last couple of months and noticed the Google Pixel 8 is very easy to use and responsive. Great screen and size. Picute quality is awesome.

Honestly, the Pixel 8 Pro is probably the best phone I've ever owned. I've owned a lot of different flagships, the most recent one was a Samsung S20 Note Ultra and none of them compare in my opinion. It has an amazing camera. The AI features for editing are amazing. The pro settings are just nuts, the fact that I can actually use the camera the way I want. The battery life is excellent and the screen can get as bright as you would ever want, honestly brighter. And call screening is amazing. I no longer have to deal with annoying spam calls. They don't wake me up anymore. The phone answers with Google Assistant and deals with them. Don't think I'll ever go back to Samsung.

Connected with spectrum mobile. It performs really well. Did have to change settings to really use up the 50 MP camera. Every now and then i do get small glitches with frozen home screen for a split couple seconds but nothing major. speakers are a little low at full volume. Phone calls are clear; apps install smoothly i do feel this phone is less cluttered than a samsung. Everyone is excited for snap dragon cpu but i believe the Google Tensor G3 chip will just get better with updates I have been able to play a lot of Emulators and cloud games flawlessly.

Love it! I personally have always purchased pixels at the standard level, my last was a 6, but the trade in deal on this 8 pro was too good to turn down. The camera is excellent, definitely feels like it keeps pace with the newest Samsung's. No issues with the software or hardware. I highly recommend purchasing a screen protector asap. I got a tiny scratch on mine in the four days I was waiting for my protector to come in the mail which sucked but it's not the end of the world.

A good upgrade to the Pixel Pro 7

Upgraded from the Pixel Pro 7, which was already a great phone. I technically didn't "need to" get the 8 Pro, but I'm pleased with it in the first few weeks of use. It does everything the 7 Pro did...but better and faster. The cameras and picture-taking (and editing) experience is much improved, and I'm learning to embrace the built-in AI features to allows the phone to better anticipate my needs. These little "extras" add up and make daily tasks easier and more convenient, and at the end of the day, that's what you want your phone to do for you. I was sad that they raised the price of the base model by $100...it would have more palatable if they also raised the base storage to 256gb, but alas it's still stuck at 128gb.

Pixel 8 Pro : a solid performer and a great phone

This has been a great phone so far. It runs smoothly and I've had no glitches or freezeups so far. Based on reviews of other recent Pixel phones, I was expecting the battery life to be average at best. So far, the battery life has been good to excellent......I can go 5 or 6 hours of screen on time, and still have 40 percent battery left at the end of the day. And I've been impressed with the quality of the photos so far also. All around, coming from an iphone 14 that had become so glitchy as to be unusable, the Pixel 8 Pro has been a refreshing change. It's not a flashy phone, like some of the Samsung phones, but a solid performer that I'm very happy with !!

First things first, let's talk looks. Google didn't reinvent the wheel here, but they did give it a nice matte paint job. I'm digging the smooth, grippy back – way better than the fingerprint magnet of the 7 Pro. Plus, the slightly rounded edges feel comfy in my hand, even after hours of YouTube binging. Performance-wise, the Tensor G3 chip is a beast. Apps fly open, games run like butter, and the whole thing feels as smooth as a jazz cat's solo. Battery life? Eh, it's decent. Not mind-blowing, but gets me through a day without major anxiety. And hey, that fast charging is a lifesaver when I forget to plug it in before bed.

Overall love the phone. First couple weeks battery life was excellent, but then I noticed the modem started chomping down on the battery and I'm not exactly sure what changed. The functionality of the phone is great. I think there are some bugs where apps will freeze on the screen once in a while, but for the most part it works the way I expect it to. If it were completely flawless I would give it a higher rating, but until I figure out what's going on with the battery I'll keep it at four stars but I have no regrets. Camera is great. Functionality is great. It's a nice upgrade over the seven. I took advantage of the pre-order rebates that were offered. If you have the seven pronoun and need to pay full price I wouldn't upgrade but for the price I got it was absolutely worth it.

Camera is great, feels super snappy, haven't had issues with calls, and battery life has been pretty strong. Glad the brightness finally is better. Did seem like it's a little buggy in some things, but it's not that noticeable.

Purchased for my wife, who loves to take pictures, and the 50 meg camera is perfect for her to capture all the creative highlights of each day and get togethers with family and friends. The image editing adds more freedom to make each picture special. The 10 X zoom feature is very nice. The phone display is large and clear and easy to work with (we are in 60-70 age range. She is happy, and if she is happy, then I am happy!

Switched to the Pixel 8 Pro from the S24 series. Really like the Pixel software experience over One UI. Phone is super smooth and fluid. I know Tensor G3 isn't the latest and greatest but it performs very well for what I use the device for. I really like the camera on this device as well, much better in my opinion compared to Samsung. Definitely would recommend this device if you are looking for a clean android experience.

Loving this phone so far apart from a few things. Pros: Display is amazing no problems there Battery is great easily lasts me a whole day of moderate use. Super smooth software so far. Camera is amazing no complaints there. Speakers are loud and clear. Cons Modem on the phone is spotty for WiFi and data. Hopefully this gets fixed via a software update. Sometimes you notice some hitches when scrolling but could get fixed via a software update.

    Improvement from pixel 6 pro

Came from a pixel 6 pro and delighted with some of the changes. The brighter screen is a huge plus especially outside in direct sunlight. I miss the curved edges but I'll admit that the flat edges make screen protectors better. The metal frame with the blue color looks incredible, and feels a lot better in your hands. The camera seems very similar to the pixel 6 pro, with some improvements to quality and the software, however I feel like it requires a bit more adjustments when trying to get the perfect shot. Battery life is pretty good, it takes some time to adjust with the adaptive battery turned on. With occasional usage during the day I lose about 30-40%.
