I like blue phone. The blue phone is very nice. I am glad there is a random thermometer that cant be used on humans. Very cool.

Best Buy has the worst customer service. When my daughter’s Christmas gift was delivered on 12/21 the package was empty. She had nothing to open Christmas morning. It is now Jan 1st and I have nothing and she doesn’t have a present yet thanks to Best Buy. They promised I would have a replacement by 12/24 and it never showed up. Every time I call to check the status I get nothing but lies and hung up on. Have a feeling I am going to have to get a lawyer involved to get my $700 back. The company has gone downhill. I WILL NEVER BUT ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN or any of my family!

It's great when it works, but that's very rare. Most of the features are spotty, the screen always has this yellow dotted/pixelated thing that happens and then you constantly have to restart the phone. Google will mute some notifications or sounds or will do the opposite and play sounds and notifications even if they are unwanted. It's difficult to use the screen because the touch sensitivity is all over the place. I've switched from the galaxy series and I would recommend to stick with Samsung.

I switched from iphone 13 pro max. I'm known for switching phones alot because I like technology. I'm also a professional photographer. That being said I've had plenty of Samsung and Apple phones in recent times. Basically skipping back and forth between the 2. First Google phone - been eyeing them a while. I've always used Gmail, chrome etc anyway. This phone has made switching to Android the easiest yet from an iphone. It copied all my apps, contacts etc. Even all my texts so I didn't have to lose any important stuff. I've customized it because I can't see small without reading glasses. I've made the text bigger, the keyboard taller, websites zoomed. Which I guess you can do most of that on any phone. But it's worth mentioning. This phone has a lot of AI. Which I appreciate. It's not perfect in photo editing but let me tell you - neither is Photoshop! It's about the same. If you don't like result, backup and try again. Some features you can do with this pro model are magic eraser, erasing objects in photos. Magic editor you can select objects and move them, make them bigger or smaller. There's magic audio in video editing where you can select sounds and make them loud or quieter. But I love the assistant. I have never really used siri or Bixby much but I love the call screening exclusive to Google phones. If a caller in not in your contact list it can screen them (if this feature is turned on). You can have your assistant talk to them, whatever they say is showing on your screen and you can reply and have it talk to them. You can then choose to answer or hang up. This does work with contacts to an extent as well. It will show you can answer, hangup or ask if urgent. When you ask if urgent it talks to them and you can have your assistant say what you need to them! It's so fun. What's going on apple - why are you so behind? Not only this - if you cal 1800 numbers you can have it show you a full list of prompts for which you'll get to choose instead of listening they're on your screen for selection. It also shows you how busy they are and how busy they usually are at that time you're calling. I called best buy the other day it said it's about 15 minute wait but it was much less than that, so not sure how accurate that is. Cameras - yes they're amazing for a phone. It does use software of course. If you take a pic in a dark room you might see the grain for a quick second and then it edits it. Granted my iphone was doing something similar here, however when text or clarity of the image is concerned, it was no good on my iphone. You could clearly read text, zoomed in, across a dark room with this phone. It was a blur with my iphone 13 pro max. The Google pixel watch 2 was a nice bonus with this phone. I have to wear a watch or feel naked. Granted I really wanted snoopy like apple watch has, I've been using fitbit sense prior to this and it's got new Fitbit sensors inside and more updated with better screen. Bezels stink on it but it's a nice companion!!! Overall I'm happy with the pair of these together. Oh lastly, I also got the pixel buds pro. Granted somehow the clarity of all levels of sound aren't AS good as my airpods pro 2s, they're good. Bass is real good. I have smaller ears and they feel heavier than the airpods but somehow stay in better. I get a little ear fatigue but I twist then a little and I'm good for a long time again. They also don't get as loud as my airpods but I'm okay with that I really shouldn't listen to songs that dang loud anyway. Battery life the first couple days seemed to be draining a little heavy. It showed a big percentage going to system that's grayed out you can't stop it or anything. But I've heard it can do that when you use a new phone for a week or so.

Well, this is hands down THE best Pixel Google has ever made. The overall feel of the hardware is premium.. the back matte finish is not only aesthetically pleasing to the eye but has a great feel to it. Aluminum body frame to provide a little more sturdiness as well. The flat screen is a much much welcomed return. And for those who think the 8 Pro could be too big for them, take it from me, someone with small hands, this phone feels perfect and feels smaller to hold than advertised. Oh and.. keeping on topic of the screen.. HOLY BRIGHTNESS! This has to be one of if not THE best phone for visibility in sunlight. Fantastic job here Google. Now, onto the features, some things we have come to know and love with the Pixel line.. the camera.. the Google assistant.. the call screening..etc.. But the upgrade to the camera, the zoom clarity and quality, the video recording, Google really stepped things up in an area that they already were leading the game on. Add in the enhancements to AI to make this experience even better? Best camera on the market. To add regarding video recording and AI.. Audio eraser on videos to get rid of unwanted noise to bring a better focus on what you're recording is truly magical. You can really see just how much the AI helps in so many instances in a lot of these features. The new tensor chip is really pushing with some magic across the board. The option for 50mp in pro mode to allow you to capture more detail and giving the user more control over their shot is very nice. Those with kids will be happy to see the Best Take feature. We know how kids can be impatient and not time the best facial expression for picturues. That's where best take comes in to play. If you take multiple photos, you have the ability to edit the photo and it will pull in the faces from all the photos you took so you can try and have one photo of everyone smiling. Battery life, at least for me, your results may vary, has been pretty impressive. This is definitely a positive from last years pixels. The phone is still learning from my usage but my very first day of use I took a screenshot and at the time I was at 4 hours and 11 minutes of screen on use with it off the charger at 7:30am and the screen shot at 2:53pm with 51 percent life to go. You can definitely get through a day with this and more with battery saver mode. Love the new customization options too. AI wallpaper is real fun to use. I really hope Google builds on this and provides more options/freedoms to come up with ideas for wallpapers. I'm honestly not sure there is enough room for me to write more on this review. I could go on and on about how great this phone is and how Google absolutely nailed it this year. If you were a pixel fan in the past and found yourself stray away.. its time to come back.. Pixel 8 Pro is the pixel we have all been waiting for. Looking forward to what the future brings with feature drops on a phone that already is packed with so many features.

This Google Pixel 8 Pro in Obsidian and 128 GB is an exceptional Android based smartphone full of features, which are software based. The design of the physical phone follows previous models. This is a top-of-the-line smartphone with AI, and so far, I am very impressed with it. The most impressive features of the Google Pixel 8 Pro are the camera and photo software editing, the AI features in the photo editor and in the audio. This phone has all the features of the 7 Pro, except better. It also has features exclusively for the 8 Pro. The camera lenses are awesome. I’ll start with the 48MP Telephoto lense with 5x optical zoom and 56% more light sensitivity. When I used this lense the photos were great. Next is the Main Wide 50MP lense. It’s 2K optical quality and has dual exposure. The Ultra-Wide lense is 48MP with improved Macro focus. 105% more light sensitive. The Macro Focus is really cool. Getting up close and personal with things like bugs, raindrops, flowers, your own hands, and so many other things, is amazing. You can see things in the photos that you can’t even see with your naked eyes. The photos I have taken I have edit extensively with all the cool software editing tools. I could talk about the camera and software all day, but I’ll break it down in simple terms. You can do almost anything with this camera and software. You can remove objects, move objects, blur the background, remove the blur, crop it, and you can even pick several photos that are similar, and put them together, per say, and pick out the best face for each person. It took me a little while to get used to that one, but it turned out great eventually. That feature is called Best Take. The Magic Editor is pretty good too. Again, it is another great software tool. The other software tool is Night Sight. When taking a photo at night, a lot of times you get a dark photo without much detail on the subjects. With Night Sight, it shows the subjects in the photo that you intended to capture. If you are shooting photos of the sky, moon, stars, etc., try to use Astrophotography. You can only use this tool with Ultra Wide and Wide lenses. Now for the other features of this phone. The personalization of your new Pixel 8 Pro can be customized to your liking. I used the AI Wallpaper tool to get an AI-generated wallpaper. You can customize the Lock Screen and so much more. The clocks and everything are customizable. The phone itself is filled with features too. You can screen your calls with Call Screen. The AI models, downloaded when your phone is charging and connected to WiFi, will have a conversation with the caller to screen your calls. Google Assistant has gotten smarter. It will summarize your web pages if you ask it to do so. It will allow you to do voice typing over different languages. I was able to dictate a message to my phone in English and it was translated to French so my cousin could read it in his native language. The live translate is so useful for those of us who need translation often. A lot of the apps are really helpful. Security tools are essential for your phone now with all the hackers and malware out there. This has built-in security with a VPN by Google One, anti-malware protection. Then there are safety features for you too. Emergency SOS, location services, safety checks, car crash detection, and crisis alerts. There are also health tools for you to use. An object temperature sensor allows you to get the temperature of objects, including food, and beverages. The Fitbit app is pre-installed for you to use with your Fitbit device. You can also use it to track with your Pixel Watch or track with your phone. This smartphone is so powerful and filled with so much that it’s almost like a macro computer. This is the best android smartphone out there.

Google should’ve gone with ultrasonic. The Pixel 8 Pro is one good-looking phone. Not only does the phone look premium, it feels so nice in-hand as well. I usually don’t get impressed from phones that is not Samsung or Apple but Google really did a wonderful job with the build materials, design, and fit-and-finish. The volume and power buttons are clickity and responsive and don’t require too much strength. The camera hump in the back looks elegant and tasteful, and the flat LPTO OLED display is bright and crisp, and the auto-brightness algorithm sets the brightness to the appropriate level most of the time. The adaptive 120Hz refresh rate leads to less eye strain and a buttery-smooth scrolling experience. It’s a shame that Google continues to omit an audio jack and a microSD card slot, but I don’t think anyone realistically expects Google to reverse course and start including them now. Google, like Samsung, is just a follower of Apple in this regard, and that’s a shame. It shows the company just isn’t bold enough nor caring enough toward individuals. It’s typical septic and impersonal corporate American behavior and philosophy, and the Pixel 8 Pro is the predictable child of such mentality. With that said, the phone still impresses despite all that. With Google’s in-house Tensor SOC, the latest version of Android, and quality design and materials, the Pixel 8 Pro is still one of the best Android phones you can get on the market. The camera and video quality are excellent, dependable, and reliable, and the speakers sound nice and loud and even offer some semblance of a wide soundstage. The Pixel-exclusive AI features such as Call Screening, Hold Me, Audio Magic Eraser, Magic Editor, Video Boost, Zoom Enhance, and Best Take have been fun to discover and use. AI is definitely going to play a much larger role in our lives, and it’s cool to experience what AI can do for us right now via the Pixel 8 Pro. The only glaring aspect of the Pixel 8 Pro that I really dislike is that unreliable and finicky optical fingerprint sensor. Training my fingerprint for the first time was an exercise in frustration and anger management. Using the fingerprint afterward also required great patience to hold back expletives from coming out of my mouth due to its unreliability. Google really should switch over to ultrasonic technology if they insist on having the fingerprint sensor underneath the front display panel. *** Livability and Performance *** Thanks to the updated and faster Google Tensor G3 SOC and 12GB of RAM, the Pixel 8 Pro has been a frustration-free and pleasant phone to live with. The phone feels very responsive and snappy, and it’s quite capable of running 3D games smoothly and with high framerates. I’m using the Pixel 8 Pro on the T-Mobile network, and my 5G and LTE connectivity and speed have been excellent. My messages always get delivered right away, and my phone calls are reliable and sound very clear for both parties. The battery life is good, and even after 8 hours of streaming music, I still had ~75% battery left. Android 14 is clean, functional, and easy to navigate inside. Google’s Android lacks some bells and whistles that phones from Samsung and others have, but thanks to Google catching up on many features, it no longer feels like a penalty when switching from a feature-rich Samsung phone to a Pixel. I can definitely daily-drive the Pixel 8 Pro, and it’s too easy to recommend it to friends and family thanks to its intuitive UI, excellent notification system, seven years of OS maintenance updates, and that reliable camera. Speaking of the camera, it’s so good. You just point and tap, and the phone will take care of the rest. Get those AI features involved, and you’ll be impressed by how your photos and videos can be manipulated and improved upon. *** Is it worth the coin? *** Absolutely. There is no other Android phone that comes with seven years of OS updates, a reliable and excellent camera bolstered with truly useful AI features, and a neat and clean operating system environment. Is the Pixel 8 Pro the perfect Android phone? No, not yet, due to that horrible optical fingerprint sensor, and lack of useful ports like an audio jack and a microSD card slot. But it’s still a great phone overall, and something I would recommend to friends and family. I rate the Pixel 8 Pro 4 Stars.

Having previously been a Pixel user I can say the Pixel 8 Pro is the pinnacle of form and function that Google has to offer. The 8 Pro has tremendous utility that is perfectly up to the task for all work or social situations. The first thing that stands out is the camera. It's plethora of settings combined with the AI features makes this the most impressive phone camera I have ever used. As before, you can have the Pixel auto edit out swaths of people from the background if you so want, with pretty good results. Manual mode lets me take control of settings I need to in order to get the exact photo I want. F2.8 lets me get as much bokeh as I want in camera. But Portrait mode can blend the background even further if so needed. I found amazing results from every magnification. Everything from Telephoto to Macro mode produces shots that I was very happy with. I do prefer Google's suite of applications. Having used them for years for work I can seamlessly go from desk to on the go without too much sacrifice. For work I am part office and part community based, meaning that I am out and about daily. Everything from the AI powered speech-to-text to Google maps finding and bringing accurate public transportation routes or driving directions are super helpful. From Google Meet to One's one-click VPN, everything works great and is accessible with just a few presses without having to dive into a lot of submenus. As far as ergonomics and battery life the 8 Pro does a good job. I was able to consistently go from 8am to 9:30pm with about 18-20% battery life remaining. This is with many settings turned on throughout the day, such as location, Bluetooth, and screen brightness tuned for outside use. Add to that a good dose of YouTube and real time driving directions, I can say the battery performed well with my heavy to moderate daily usage. The Pro 8 feels good in the hand and the buttons are in a good place so as not to feel like I had to move my fingers in any unnatural way to access them. Due to all the camera hardware being at the top of the phone, it does sit a bit top heavy in the hand. People with smaller hand will probably need to be mindful of that. Haptics and vibration seem stronger than previous models. I definitely will not be missing any notifications when the phone is in pocket. All in all, color me thoroughly impressed with the Pro 8 and all its utility. And being a photography hobbyist, the camera far and away is the standout on this device.

The majority of all the smart devices in my home are made by or integrated with Google. Lights, speakers, tablets, etc. This is my first dive into a correlating smartphone. So far, I'm impressed. Pixel Pro 8 is a great size. I can easily operate and handle with one hand if need be. Materials feel solid and the phone is sleek and aesthetically pleasing. Turning on and setting up was the easiest experience to date, and I have had many. Even the ESN portion was automated. Being that my information is tied to my Google account, loading a customized backup from my previous phone was seamless. The start-up process has been refined to minimal user assistance, and I love it. Whenever I get a new phone, it instantly goes in a case, and tempered glass screen protectors are added. I have often had issues with the in-screen fingerprint reader working with screen protectors to the point where it was best not to use it. No issue with the PP8. The screen operates, recognizes, and scrolls with ease with or without the protector. Speaking of the screen. It's stunning. The consistent 120hz scrolling combined with the bright, vibrant colors make everything pop to my eyes. Videos and pictures look amazing and the HDR on-screen makes a difference vs having to view externally to see how it looks. In all Android phones, the skeleton operating system is typically the same, but with caveats per manufacturer. There are a few camera modes that are specific to Samsung that I will miss, but it is made up in Google's usage of tools in the Photo app. The camera itself takes absolutely amazing pictures and videos, but once you tinker with them in photos, it crazy what is possible. Unblur(been waiting for this for sometime), object removal, object depth, etc. It's truly impressive. Once again, the camera itself has been taking simply wondrous pictures, some of the best I've seen in a phone, but tie it to the app, and wow. Going back to my starting sentence, integration in my home devices has been next level. Combining this with a Pixel tablet and a windows computer has made fun and productivity migration simple when transferring from device to device. I can do and connect wherever, whenever. I have been adjusting to the AI features as we go, watching them improve. While I appreciate them thus far, I feel there is still some work to go on using them more consistently. That is not referring to the photo AI, but the searching and BARD. The predictive text is getting better with every keystroke and the on-the-spot translation is top notch. There are a few mishaps here and there, but nothing that hasn't been improving with usage. For instance, the Google search bar is positioned on the main screen at the bottom. I prefer it on the top, but there is noway to modify that...for now. Irritating minuscule detail, but one that may be fixed with enough "complaining." I am a dual phone user/owner. I typically carried two Samsung Phones. I am more than happy to let the Pixel 8 Pro take the lead for a bit and will probably keep up with the line in the future. Bravo to Google.

I bought the Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB back in October 2023, and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. The design is sleek and modern, and the build quality is top-notch. The performance is outstanding, with smooth and fast operation thanks to the powerful processor and ample RAM. The camera is phenomenal, capturing stunning photos and videos in various lighting conditions. The high-resolution display is vibrant and perfect for media consumption and daily use. Battery life is impressive, easily lasting a full day, and the fast charging is very convenient. The pure Android experience is a joy, with timely updates and a clean interface. Overall, the Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB combines excellent design, performance, and camera quality, making it a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Setting up this phone is a process. You can do it yourself or go to your cell provider’s store. The Pixel has a virtual SIM card that allows you to transfer data, apps, etc… from your existing phone. It is not an entirely perfect process. For example, app icons may transfer and you will still have to install them. Plus update the apps. I tried using the virtual SIM and my data transferred BUT Verizon doesn’t seem to be able to handle the virtual SIM. After over 2 hours on the phone with them, several transfers (including to a 3rd party) and no activation – they disconnected me. And disconnected my old phone in the process so I had no communication for a day. Our local Verizon store couldn’t activate the SIM either and had to install a SIM card. They were so nice and didn’t charge me after the issues I had with activation. The Tensor G3 processor and Android 14 make this phone fast on both my Wi-Fi and the Verizon 5G network. It also connects much better for phone calls in my house and garage than my previous Pixel 6. Gaming is very good and the phone doesn’t become too hot. But I think that throttling is what slows down the gaming speed. Dynamic refresh rate, which increases when you are doing something that needs a faster refresh; i.e. gaming, was very good. A temperature sensor is located on the rear of the phone. It specifically states that it is not for body temperature. That would be a great reason to use it but it isn’t very accurate. I tested food temps, water temp and yes, my hand temp. It differed on temperatures from 4-12 degrees. It was actually best on my hand temp. AI Wallpaper creator sounds cool but you are so limited in what it can create. You cannot type in a sentence (for example – create a Mardi Gras float passing by a bead tree); you only change a few words. Bicycle can become a boat and the colors can change. This would have been a cool feature if it had more AI capability. But how much AI control do you want your phone to have? The Google Pixel 8 Pro has 3 cameras on the back. Best Take requires you to have several images (6 or more) so that it can take the best face photos and blend them into one image. Most people don’t take the same phot 6 times. Burst mode takes several pictures so you can pick the best image. You can change a photo to Black & White or Color Pop (color image and B&W background) for different effects. There are a lot of easy to use settings and the Magic Eraser can remove images from the photo easily. Audio Magic Eraser can separate the audio into different tracks so you can remove unwanted background noises. One of my complaints about most cell phones is volume and phone connection. A cell phone should first be an actual phone. Connection with this phone has been excellent. Call volume and the speaker phone volume are both excellent. Even pairing with a headset has been excellent. This phone is very functional and fast with excellent phone quality, great cameras, fairly easy photo editing and a nice screen size. The temperature sensor needs improvement (will you really use it?) and I don’t like the AI wallpaper. A solid phone choice. Google committed to 7 years of software and security updates which will help if you decide to hold onto this phone for many years.

I do like the look and power of the new pixel 8 pro with tensor 3 chip, however I miss the curved display. The curve just made the phone look more high end in my opinion vs the flat display. I found as always switching over my Google account and details from my Samsung phone to the pixel 8 pro wirelessly was fast and simple without any issues. I'm shocked Google is still using a optical fingerprint reader vs the ultrasonic reader, but somehow managed to use facial recognition with the front facing selfie camera. The facial recognition works well except nighttime. All the cameras take great looking photos as most all pixel phones have done over time. Night time shots look best and most natural to me vs iPhone or Samsung phones. Battery life is really good on the pro for all-day use, charging is pretty fast whether using wired or wireless charging for me. Even though the pixel 8 pro has reverse wireless charging, inever useit or have the need to. I used bothe the pixel watch 2 and galaxy watch 6 classic with the pixel 8 pro, I prefer the watch 6 classic for it larger size and better functionality for my needs over the pixel watch 2. I really like how well google assistant and Google home integration with the pixel 8 pro work within the Google ecosystem. From the pull down menu screens, to just simply saying "Hey Google"! 5G coverage for me on the T-Mobile network is pretty good for me with 8 pro. I usually get around 350-600gbps depending on my location. My experience with this phone has been really positive, I find all its features to be useful and easy to use. One thing that I really like about the new pixel 8 pro was it's haptics, especially for phone calls. The new haptic motor is close to the iPhone that I've ever experienced with a Android phone. I've not heard one reviewer mention it yet, but it's definitely the best in any smartphone I've ever used. When I got my first phone call on the pixel 8pro, I was like " wow this phone really has some impressive haptics to it"!
