Overall great upgrade if you're looking for better battery life and cooler temperatures. Camera is great but not a massive change from the Pixel 7 Pro. Big AI features so it that's you're thinking this phone upgrade is for you. Love the flat screen and super bright. Love the matte finish on the back just wish they would've gone with brushes metal on the pro too.

If you're trying to decide between the pro and "regular" I think that depends on what you're looking for. I went with the pro for a slightly bigger screen and a little bit better camera. I'm sure there are some other specs that are different but most of those didn't matter to me too much. Is it worth the price jump? I think so, but I can understand how it won't be to some people.
As far as the phone it's been great so far. If you're in the Google/Pixel system it's pretty much the same. There isn't a lot of "noticeable " changes from my 6. As a regular consumer I think they are pretty much the same. Yes there are some improvements, but everyday things are running pretty much the same. This Pixel has run smoothly and screen looks great. Everything is working as it should.
If you are trying to decide to upgrade from another Pixel earlier than the 6 you will probably notice an upgrade. 6 or 7 eh. If you're coming from another Android at this point I think it's personal preference, but you won't be disappointed.
Last thing I got the Bay color and it's a little more baby blue than I thought. Not bad, just not the color I thought it was going to be. Check them out in person if possible.

As someone who has always been an Android enthusiast and has exclusively used flagship both iOS and Android devices, I wanted to share my honest thoughts as Pixel user of the Google Pixel brand. Don't worry, I'm not a "pixel fanboy," so you can expect an unbiased.
The device's display is truly impressive. Whether I was using it in broad daylight or complete darkness, I encountered no visibility issues (though, let's be honest, it better be visible in the dark!). The adaptive brightness feature was particularly intuitive and responsive. The software experience on the Pixel was equally exceptional. It felt incredibly optimized, with no lags or hiccups to be found. Everything ran seamlessly and smoothly. Best camera on smartphone right now!!!

Love it! I personally have always purchased pixels at the standard level, my last was a 6, but the trade in deal on this 8 pro was too good to turn down. The camera is excellent, definitely feels like it keeps pace with the newest Samsung's. No issues with the software or hardware. I highly recommend purchasing a screen protector asap. I got a tiny scratch on mine in the four days I was waiting for my protector to come in the mail which sucked but it's not the end of the world.

I purchase this when I traded in my Pixel 7 Pro. I had no complaints for the Pixel 7 Pro, but I wanted the many software improvements and performance upgrade. I've had the phone a few weeks and have not come across any problems. Would definitely purchase again.

Excellent purchasing experience. Phone is great so far. Probably the most complete pixel package since the 4 XL. While the iPhone 15 pro definitely closed the distance in low light photography, the pixel has definitely improved its video capabilities. If you strictly care about having the best performance and camera (photos and video), the 15 pro is what you should look at. But if you're bored with the mundane feel of flagships these days, definitely pick this baby up.
Google's software magic more than makes up for any deficiency. It's unique and comes with so many useful features you just won't get enough of and will instantly miss if you switch from pixel.

I have been an owner of the Pixel 2 XL the pixel 5 the pixel 6 pro the pixel 7 pro and now the pixel 8 pro along with the pixel watch 2. I must say this is probably my favorite pixel so far. Where the seven improved many of the issues of the six the eight has streamlined any issues the seven may have had. It charges fast. My battery last forever. It was a great price and I have yet to have a single issue. I paired it with the magbak case. Hey magnetic, case similar to the magsafe with apple. So now I can mount it anywhere or wirelessly charge it. And can you use MagSafe devices. Pair that with the pixel watch 2 which is basically an extension of the phone and does almost everything it can, but it also can track your fitness habits and your heart rate or sleep patterns. It's really interesting information and they all seem to pair and work flawlessly together.

Very good performance and battery life. Good customization options for the interface.
Phone can get a bit too hot if running a lot of apps at the same time, especially during data transfer from old phone. Finding case options can be a bit difficult but not too hard.

Upgraded from the Pixel Pro 7, which was already a great phone. I technically didn't "need to" get the 8 Pro, but I'm pleased with it in the first few weeks of use. It does everything the 7 Pro did...but better and faster. The cameras and picture-taking (and editing) experience is much improved, and I'm learning to embrace the built-in AI features to allows the phone to better anticipate my needs. These little "extras" add up and make daily tasks easier and more convenient, and at the end of the day, that's what you want your phone to do for you. I was sad that they raised the price of the base model by $100...it would have more palatable if they also raised the base storage to 256gb, but alas it's still stuck at 128gb.

First things first, let's talk looks. Google didn't reinvent the wheel here, but they did give it a nice matte paint job. I'm digging the smooth, grippy back – way better than the fingerprint magnet of the 7 Pro. Plus, the slightly rounded edges feel comfy in my hand, even after hours of YouTube binging.
Performance-wise, the Tensor G3 chip is a beast. Apps fly open, games run like butter, and the whole thing feels as smooth as a jazz cat's solo. Battery life? Eh, it's decent. Not mind-blowing, but gets me through a day without major anxiety. And hey, that fast charging is a lifesaver when I forget to plug it in before bed.

I bought the Google 7 solely because I required a camera phone I could use at art gallery events and opening nights to do portraits and photos of the art work and send instantly without having to get into the apartment and edit and send. The quick and done kind of photo. Went from the Samsun S21 to the Pixel 7. Wasn't into upgrading, not wanting to spend the extra but the next features of the camera, software, I went for the Pro8. It is an excellent camera, software is still a little lackluster in comparison to what Google will tell you when it comes to the magic erase but the level of detail in photographs (I'm a professional portrait and fine art photographer) is astounding. The zoom feature, excellent. Low light, excellent. Portrait, excellent. I am at a show and now people ask me to photograph them using my phone and send it. I can deliver instantly. It's rather cool. Obviously this isn't a Canon R5 but for what it is, it's astonishing. Phone side it's perfect in the hand, screen is clear, bright, everything except the update to Android 14 (which has stopped me being able to send text photos and gifs, could be me and settings) is superb and even with all it can do it retains a very basic feel. I don't like tech I have to study and learn about I like tech I can use straight off and then find surprises later. I got to write again, the feel of the phone in the hand is really good better than any other phone I've used.
