Don't buy and expect it to work with Google Fi.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Avoid buying this phone and trying to use it on Google Fi. They have been troubleshooting my issue for 11 days and no resolution. SIM card works on my old phone but Pixel 8 Pro can't pick up the network and no one can figure out why. Tried all the troubleshooting with multiple representatives, but just ended up wasting 4 hrs of my life.

Love it!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a recent purchaser of the Pixel 8 Pro from Best Buy, I am thoroughly impressed by this technological gem. The Pixel 8 Pro is a testament to the advancements in smartphone technology, blending sleek design with powerhouse performance. Firstly, the design aesthetics are remarkable. The phone sports an elegant and modern look, which is both pleasing to the eye and comfortable in hand. The build quality is exceptional, exuding a premium feel that you would expect from a high-end device. The display is another area where the Pixel 8 Pro shines. The screen is bright, crisp, and vibrant, making everything from browsing the web to watching videos a delightful experience. The colors are rich and true to life, and the high resolution ensures that everything looks sharp and detailed. Performance-wise, the Pixel 8 Pro is a beast. It handles multitasking with ease, and I have yet to encounter any lag or slowdown, even with multiple apps running simultaneously. The latest processor and ample RAM make it a perfect choice for both work and play. The camera system on the Pixel 8 Pro is arguably one of the best on the market. Photos come out stunningly clear, with excellent detail and color accuracy. The night mode is particularly impressive, capturing low-light scenes with remarkable clarity. It's a photographer's dream phone. Battery life has also been a pleasant surprise. It easily lasts a full day of heavy usage, and the fast charging capabilities mean I'm never left waiting long for a recharge. Lastly, the software experience is fluid and user-friendly. The interface is intuitive, and Google's commitment to regular updates keeps the phone feeling fresh and secure. In conclusion, the Pixel 8 Pro, purchased from Best Buy, has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It is a well-rounded device that delivers an exceptional user experience. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just looking for a reliable and high-performing smartphone, the Pixel 8 Pro is an excellent choice.

Best Google Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love the Pixel series! By far one of the best Android phones. May not be the topped spec phone. But will you really notice it? Probably not. The Tensor G3 chip is not beating the A17 or Snapdragon chip. Phone does not run hot like last years Pixel 7. The Tensor G3 is no slouch. You won't notice it in basic day to day operations. Software: I love that it has basic Google OS. Its smooth and snappy. Battery: Battery life is ok. I get about a day with light to moderate use. I like that you can wireless charge the device. Display: This is one of the best displays they have made. Love that it does have a high refresh rate. Colors are nice and vibrant. You can watch whatever content you want and it is beautiful. Camera: This is why I stick with Pixel phones. The software that it uses along with the camera are amazing! My wife has an iphone 14 pro. She aways prefers using the Pixel phone for photos. Especially now with the pro you have a few more options. I myself am not a professional. But I do love the natural colors of the photos. Love magic eraser and best shot.

Impressive Performance Google Pixel 8 Pro 256GB
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got my hands on the Google Pixel 8 Pro 256GB in Obsidian, and it has surpassed all my expectations. Design and Handling: First off, the design is sleek and stylish. The obsidian finish gives it a premium look, and the smooth, textured body feels great in the hand. It's ergonomically designed, so it's comfortable to hold and use, even for long periods. Touch Screen Experience: The touch screen is excellent. It's highly responsive, making every swipe and tap feel effortless. There's even an option to increase touch sensitivity when using a screen protector, which is a thoughtful touch that ensures the screen remains as responsive as ever. Camera Performance: The camera on the Pixel 8 Pro is absolutely outstanding. The zoom feature, in particular, blew me away. I took some pictures to test it out, focusing on distant features, and the zoom was clear and detailed. It’s perfect for capturing those far-away shots without losing quality. Editing Features: The Magic Editor is a game-changer. The unblur option is super handy for fixing any unwanted blur in your photos, making sure your shots always look sharp and professional. Battery Life: The battery life is pretty good. It easily lasts me through a full day of heavy use, which includes streaming videos, browsing the web, and using various apps. Overall Experience: Overall, the Google Pixel 8 Pro 256GB in Obsidian is a stellar smartphone. It looks great, feels great, and performs even better. Whether you’re into photography or just want a smooth, stylish phone with good battery life, this one’s definitely worth considering. I’m absolutely thrilled with my purchase!

Pixel 8 About 2 Weeks Later
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Edit: I did attempt to upload some photos for this review however apparently Best Buy's website won't let me upload my "Pro" size 50 megapixel photos and I'm not going to compress the images to meet their requirements because it wouldn't represent the quality of the photos I took. Sorry to those of you who wanted to see the image quality! I've had this phone since release and overall I really love this phone. Coming from a Pixel 5 this is an upgrade (even after I replaced the battery in my Pixel 5 with a new one) because it definitely feels like a flagship phone that gets as much or more battery life that my mid-range Pixel 5. I took this phone with me to Orlando for a week, which was week 2 for me having this phone and it did amazing. I added a few shots below from the trip but overall the camera was incredible in almost all lighting situations. Video was good, almost great even but there was some artifacts in low light (which I assume is what Video Boost coming later this year will fix). My wife carried her iPhone 12 with 87% battery health and while hers was at between 10-15% remaining my Pixel 8 Pro was at 40-45% after being off the charger since 8am and going until 12am or 2am some nights. Incredibly impressive battery life. I also love the AI features. The keyboard is also probably too smart. I love the "Fix it" button that examines your text and offers suggestions on how to fix it. I have used the AI wallpaper generator for all my phone backgrounds and while you are limited to adjectives and nouns that the apps wants you to use it still turns out some amazing backgrounds. I wish it had a little more flexibility but I guess I can keep using the real AI image generators for that. Adaptive icons are very cool but it doesn't work for all apps (Deezer doesn't work for some reason despite being a major music streaming service). The "Best Take" feature actually does work and I did use it on even some old photos but there is a trick to it. The photos have to be downloaded to your device and it needs several examples to work with so take a few shots when you initially shoot your photo and it will work with those. Some looked eerily good and others blew out some features like making my nose larger due to the perspective of the photo it borrowed from. Not perfect but wow does it ever work and will probably only get better! I also did use Magic Eraser for some old shots and new shots in my Google Photos library and it worked perfectly so it is very likely that "Best Take" will ultimately get better over time also. Voice dictation is unbelievable. I'm going to write the last half of this review with voice dictation and I am absolutely not going to edit it in any way. So if the punctuation is off that is because it messed up in some way. I will say one of the things that i really really enjoy about this phone is the sound quality during my calls. Once I turned on clear calling in the settings it absolutely made a night and day difference between my previous phone call quality and the new even talking to people on different types of phones. I also really like the size of the phone. I am coming from a much smaller device like the pixel 5 and I don't really think I would go back to a phone. That's small. Now that I've had a screen this size it does take a little extra effort to hold the phone for pictures and stuff. But the screen is unbelievable for just seeing a whole bunch of stuff at one time. Another big thing is that the screen actually is incredibly bright. I used it in Orlando and I had no problem seeing it out in the theme park middle of the sun. During the high peak of the day there was no issues of screen brightness. Never missed a shot. It was incredible. Another really cool thing is the fact that it can read web pages for you and summarize the topics inside of those web pages. I wanted to know what the gist of a PC gamer article was and I was able to go to that website and have it summarize the article for me and read it out to me by the Google Assistant, which was incredibly cool. The one caveat here is that you absolutely have to use the Chrome browser. It won't work with any of your third party browsers because you know first party is Google. I love the feature. It's one of those things that I will absolutely use and I will say that in my experience with Android Auto on the pixel 5 and on this device, it's improved drastically. The split screen is unbelievable. I really really like being able to see the additional information of the music that I'm listening to along with seeing the map so I hope they never change that. For those of you that are wondering fingerprint unlock at the moment is good and not great. One of the things that I've noticed is that I can get it to read my fingerprint but it will be like a day or two later and it will reject my fingerprint no. How no matter how many times I swipe it. I find that it is directly related to the phone software though because if I reboot my phone it will accept my fingerprint and I hope Google is planning to fix that issue very soon. I haven't used face unlock at all. I don't know that I trust it mostly because it's not using any third party mapping and because it's attached to my banking apps, I'm just afraid to really put it to the test so I have held off on using face unlock. I can't speak to that, but from all the reviews that I've looked at it appears to be incredibly fast. So in review, absolutely incredible battery life for a flagship the AI features are unparalleled on any phone. I absolutely love the screen brightness. The call quality the messaging that now works with the reactions to Apple. We tested that with an iPhone 12 to verify that it worked. It takes incredible pictures which we validated on our vacation. I'll attach a few of those below and I can say that this was definitely an upgrade and a very impressive one over my pixel 5 that I had before this. I don't know what you would be looking for in a phone, but this is actually an incredibly smart and probably going to get smarter device as time goes on until obviously the Pixel 9 comes out and then blows it out of the water. I would absolutely recommend this phone to anyone I know, and I think that I am very impressed despite the grammatical mistakes of the end of this review for the voice dictation I can definitely tell that it doesn't know when I'm listing things, but that is pretty minor. I hope this helps someone find a device that they can enjoy and I hope that those who are looking to upgrade from previous pixels or change from an iPhone device that this kind of helps you answer some questions you might have had about the phone. Thanks!
