Okay, TLDR: Pixel 8 Pro is a great improvement but its still stuck behind other brands, mainly battery. I feel like the Pixel series of phones are for people who need a device that doesn't break their bank (ironic since they increased prices this year) compared to Samsung and Apple while stile managing to bring a powerful punch. Which is a good thing, but honestly for a Pro model, it should have some more to it. My negatives is that the finger print sensor is still optical which is horrible during the night cause it just blasts your eye balls with white light. And if your hands are dry or wet, it can't read it. Then there's the face unlock. It's great that it's now able to unlock bank accounts and other stuff outside the lock screen, but it's completely useless once you're in a low lit environment. It cannot scan in low light and you have to use either ur password or finger print. Still a good improvement from pixel 7 pro. Battery life is still iffy. Even after a week so the phone can "recognize" my usage. I find it funny that people still say that. But in my experience, it only gives me like extra 20 minutes. Which is nice but still, P6P, P7P, and P8P, they just don't have good battery life and Google needs to address it. And yes I did turn off 5G and everything else I don't use. WHY THE IS PHOTO SPHERE GONE?! Literally the most interesting and useful camera modes on this phone and it's gone?! Excuse me, but why? I don't go out very often and when I do go places, I use it to capture the best area so I can look back. Some positives are that they FINALLY GOT RID of curved screens and the glossy back. Literally a non issue after using a case, but still, curved screens, you need an expensive screen protector cause it's difficult to find other brands that will protect it properly. Battery life has also been improved slightly, but as mentioned before, still kinda mediocre. I believe the LTPO screen is to credit since it can go down to 1hz to 120hz. I used developer mode to check and it proves itself. Camera is AMAZING. Like wow, their new HDR photo thing is super cool. Video quality, I say is about the same-ish. Nothing new was added :) Over all, such a great phone if you're looking to upgrade or switch to Android. Camera is cool, reverting back to flat displays, slightly better battery I get around 4hrs40mins-6hrs of SOT, and just good. However the downsides are that Google still insists to use old parts and outdated tech (finger print & Tensor based on Exynos) yet still chooses to increase price. Bad move.

In general there are 3 things a phone has to get right, 1. Display 2. Battery 3. Camera In my opinion the pixel 8 pro got all 3 right The display is smooth, gets bright while being accurate outdoors doesn't drain the battery as much as it should for the features it has. The battery is just over 5,000mha, I typically start my day at 7 and am at 40% by the time I put it on the charger at the end of the day, (thats with it at full res, 120hz, always on display, and not charging before bed) And the cameras, face unlock for authentication needs work in low light, pictures look just as good as the iPhone and video a minor step below iPhone if you don't know how to frame the shot. Pro controls, night mode and the editors more than make up for this in my opinion and with the proper framing and lights it looks as good if not better than the iPhone For other features is has touch ID, customization that is on par with a jailbroken iPhone (without jailbreaking), Google assistant (way better than Siri), and it has basically an auto Shazam on the lock screen Overall I'd rate this phone a 9/10 great with room for growth.

I upgraded to the pixel 8 pro 256gb in bay and I've had the phone for about 3 weeks now. I am coming from an iPhone 12 pro that I've had for just about 3 years now. I chose the iPhone back then because at the time there was not an android phone that I really felt was worth the price and had the right "hand feel" I wanted. I did not want a curved screen and iPhones just feel like they are worth the money spent when held in the hand. Now that pixels have gotten rid of the curved screen, I was ready to jump back in and I have not been disappointed. Screen: The best and most noticable upgrade has to be the screen. The combo of having a high refresh rate screen and the huge upgrade in brightness makes even the most mundane task a joy now. It really makes me want to use my phone more. Reception/signal: I don't know why but my iPhone 12 pro could barely get calls or even a signal from my house and would consistently only bring in about 10mbp/s on Ookla but my pixel 8 pro is pulling in over 200 from the same areas. This might have more to do with how 5g has evolved in my area but my experience has been great. I no longer have issues with cell service speeds in some areas where I used to like my work office building, inside my local grocery store or a buddy of mines home out in a more rural area. I'd heard reports of pixels having bad modems but coming from a 3 year old iPhone, it's been an upgrade. Camera: I'm in the group of people who just want to be able to take a nice picture when it occasionally comes up. I don't post to social media but I like to hold onto memories. For me the camera has been great. It's not a huge upgrade like phones used to be but the 8 pro has the uncanny ability to just take the right shot when I need it without much fuss. The camera app can be slow if you are trying to take multiple shots in a row so be mindful of that but otherwise it just works. I don't use the extra ai features as I don't really take that many pictures. I just like having a capable device I have confidence in to take a picture when I need it Battery: For my use, it has been great! I've been able to pull about 2 days of usage between charges since I've had the phone. I do a lot of video streaming through YouTube and twitch and do some emulators for older gba games so the phone gets decent usage. I've tried keeping an eye out to see if the phone got hot during intense use but have not noticed anything too bad. My iPhone 12pro would heat up a lot more just using the best buy app than the pixel does streaming twitch and browsing though chrome. Cons: Non really but I have to mention the temperature sensor. It's such a gimmick that I have not even opened the app. It may be possible for it to get some use later but without even being able to measure human temperatures, I see it as a waste of space. It's not a huge con as with android, I can just remove the app and be done with it. Overall I've been quite pleased with the device. I think some of the issues I've seen are from people with a wider perspective than I on smartphones as a whole. In my own use though, I've had nothing to complain about. I try to go a good amount of time between phones when I can so every phone upgrade FEELS like I've upgraded. If you are using a phone that is older than a year or two like I was, I think you will be pleasantly surprised

Purchased two Pixel 8 Pro phones. Had a Pixel 6 Pro already. Powerful, fast, super camera with great resolution and zoom. They were exactly what I was looking for myself and my wife. You do want the 256 Gig memory so you can store lots of pictures with the great 50 megapixel camera. Swapping from old to new phone was easy and all the old programs transferred to the new phone with no problem. Did get a screen protector. This phone can also use an E-Sim so you don't really have to put a SIM card in it, which is nice. Using a SIM car, the E-SIM means that you can have the option of a second separate phone line, if you want to pay for a second line, This can be handy if you want to segregate your work phone number from your personal line, but not carry two phones.

Brilliant device. The camera is probably one of the best available in the market. Phone never lags even with multiple apps running and a good 1 day battery even when overloaded with multiple different applications. Pricing is definitely at higher end but getting it on black friday offset some of that.

Coming back to Android from my iPhone 14 pro max this is a great start. The phone itself is snappy and the tensor G3 works great in and out of games. The AI editing on videos and photos couples with the amazing camera quality was a big selling point to me and even better in person. I would highly recommend going into your local beat buy to mess with the camera and AI editing in person as it's pretty crazy what you can do in the palm of your hand now. Battery life has been good outside of the first few days where I couldn't stop playing with the phone. The display is nice and crisp, not to mention SUPER bright even outside. Make sure to changed the resolution when you first get it as it defaults to 1080P to save on battery.

A surprisingly significant upgrade over the Pixel 7 Pro and by far the best phone Google has made. The camera is top tier, but there have been significant improvements to the overall design, haptics, battery, thermals, and processing. Highly recommend!

I recently had the opportunity to use the Google Pixel 8 Pro, and overall, it's a solid phone with some noteworthy features. **What I Liked:** The standout feature for me is the display. The battery life, while not exceptional, is acceptable, and I appreciate some of the useful widgets that enhance the user experience. The integration of Google features like the voice assistant, Google Maps, and phone functions adds to the phone's appeal. **Areas for Improvement:** On the downside, the battery life could be better, and the speakers don't quite match the standard I expected. One notable drawback is the inconsistency in widget design. Unlike iOS, where widgets are uniform, the Pixel's widgets vary in size and can occupy more space than necessary. Google could enhance the user interface by ensuring widgets take up the entire designated space, providing a more polished look. Another point of concern is the Google Messenger app, which I find lacking. It would be great if Google considered acquiring a more modern messaging app, like Telegram or Signal, to improve the overall messaging experience.While the still phone are some of the best if not the best out there and video departments still need work , it’s time for the videos to be the same if not better than the iPhone Moreover, the phone's storage options could be more generous. Starting at 256GB would be more in line with current user needs, especially considering the increasing demand for storage space. **Conclusion:** In summary, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is a good phone but falls short of greatness. With improvements in battery life, speaker quality, widget uniformity, messaging app, and storage options, it has the potential to be a top-tier device. I look forward to seeing how Google addresses these aspects in future iterations.

Very happy with this phone so far. Solid battery life and performance. The screen is excellent. So glad they switched to flat screen for the pro model and the camera is top notch. The fingerprint sensor works 99% of the time for me.

Google has done an amazing job at building their vision of a phone OS. The Pixel 8 Pro has a great balance of performance and features. Comparing this to an iphone 15 pro max there are features the Pixel has that are simply amazing. The camera and ai functions in the photos app are mind blowing. To be able to fix bad photos and clean them up all on your phone screen is an amazing feature. The google assistant that answers all of your spam calls and can wait on hold for you is revolutionary. There are a few bugs that need to be worked out still but all phone operating systems have them. If you are in the android ecosystem this is a top notch phone full of amazing features that you will love. The battery life was pretty good for me over all as well.

After owning the Pixel 7 Pro and thinking to myself that this phone has potential but could be so much more. The gaps it had to my prior Samsung S21 Ultra was noticeable and I wanted it back. Until I thought to give the Pixel 8 Pro a try before ditching the Pixel phones to go back to Samsung. I'm glad I gave this Pixel 8 Pro a chance, This phone finally checks all the boxes I was looking for. I am beyond pleased with this phone. Android 14 compliments this phone so much! Google pixel 8pro is really good with amazing camera and battery backup. From the day of product pickup I haven't faced any problem...and thanks to the best buy associate for making me aware with the amazing deal...I got the latest pixel watch for free...and it's so cool...

Upgrading from the Pixel 4XL, I am not at all disappointed. The camera is top-tier as far as phones go. The AI features are neat, and it has a sleek build. Software interaction/performance is smooth, responsive , and the display is gorgeous. The battery life is of course dependent on individual use and can definitely be stretched out dramatically, but even with high use I get well over 24 hours as far as I've noticed. Overall a fantastic flagship phone.

I've had all the recent flagship phones, this one truely is quality of life improvements. Call screen is fantastic and the camera is super easy to get great shots screen super bright and sure enough processor is smooth and quick. Fun flagship with the flat screen instead of all the curve nonsense. The pixel 6 pro and 7 pro or not nearly as nice as this nor as quick. I could never go back to those phones after using this one, won't go back to my iphone either. Still have my iPad though.

Coming from a Pixel 7 (non-pro), this is more of a marginal upgrade. The elevated trade in value, and free Pixel Watch 2 made it a pretty sweet deal. All things considered, this is a solid phone. It may not be the most powerful in raw performance, but it does everything I need it to and then some, while showing no signs of being underpowered. I don't play games on my phone, but I'm a fairly heavy user for most everything else. Battery life is a step up, but it still falls short of the class leaders. That said, it gets me through the day without fail, and I never have to top it up. The screen is the best I've seen. It's crazy bright, crisp, and has great colors. The LTPO ranges from a buttery smooth 120fps during regular use, down to 1fps with always on display to save battery. The camera system is once again the best on a smartphone, and the video is massively improved, though still not quite on the level of an iPhone. The software is perfect. Simple, clean, but it has all the features you want. Fast updates from Google, and relatively bug-free. The build quality is definitely upgraded from last year, and the matte glass was a long time coming. In my opinion, this is the best Android smartphone on the market if you're not a heavy gamer looking for every last ounce of performance and battery life. A good buy, but not much has changed since the Pixel 7. The price increase is unfortunate, but understandable. Not the bargain it used to be, but still a great buy.

This phone is great! The new enhanced AI features are robust and intricate. I also like that the Tensor G3 is now powerful enough to keep up with other current gen chipsets. 12gbs of ram and a nice Oled display mean that everything runs smooth and looks good. Battery life has also seen some improvement and overall its a step up from last years Pixel. I would recommend this phone just for the AI features alone!
