For the last four years I've used the Beats fit pro. They recently broke and I've struggled to find a good replacement. I tried models from Beats, Nothing, and Sony. However, all of them had significant downsides.
I finally landed on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 as my replacement and I couldn't be more happy.
Pros:
Comfort - I can work all day with my earbuds in and never have any fatigue or pain.
Transparency Mode - I know many people care more about ANC, but for me I need to be able to hear my surroundings. The transparency mode is fantastic. There is no pressure or white noise.
Battery - Lasts my whole work day.
Case Size - Far smaller than other brands I've tried.
ANC - Does it's job well when I need it.
Connectivity. I can have my phone sitting on the main floor and the earbuds stay connected when I run down to the basement.
Cons:
Honestly, my only con is the color. It feels like Google went to two opposite ends of the spectrum: two boring colors in black/white and two wild colors in neon blue and pink. I would have loved a forest green or navy blue.

Battery life is amazing. I think it might last a bit over 8h with ANC (after just over 4h with constant usage and ANC, they were at 55%). Also, this might be pixel phone exclusive, but it actually shows the exact percentage, not just the 90%, 80%, 70%, so on. There's no voice for these saying "connected" or "low battery", it's just cute little chimes (that I believe you can turn off, at least the one for when they're charging). Conversation recognition is pretty good, takes a second to recognise sometimes but that might just be my accent or me talking too fast. Also works for Spanish! Turns on only when *you* speak, not when others do. And you can turn it on and off. It does sometimes activate when I'm laughing while watching a video but it's only happened like once or twice. The little nub everyone complains about isn't actually all that bad in my ear. Even my mum didn't complain and she hates earbuds, or anything in her ear. The noise cancellation works really well for sounds around you, minus voices. It sounds more muted (at least when they're right next to you), which is fine for me. Not as loud as my soundcore p30i, but maybe that's better for my ears. In settings (for Google Pixel phones at least), it shows you if you're volume is too loud, and even tells you what your daily/weekly exposure to that level of noise should be (and has some examples like music festival and normal conversation). But you can turn off the volume level notification as well. It can also connect to two devices (as advertised) and truly does switch between devices depending on who's playing audio. But remember to turn on the setting (Dual connection and Audio Switch). Also, to see what % the case is at, take one earbud out, and keep the other one inside. Then it will tell you the % of all three. The wireless charging is a huge bonus, and with Battery Share on my pixel, I can charge my headphones with my phone. It's a type C, same as the phone.
TL;DR
Worth it for me. It will obviously work better with a pixel phone, and probably works best with the 9 series, so take my review with a grain of salt knowing those conditions. The headphones themselves feel nice, don't fall out, and sound pretty good (maybe not 200$ good but the other features make up for it imo). If you have the money and you're looking into them, I'd say go for it!

Right away I noticed the sound signature is definitely different than the original pros. TBH I'm not a fan initially but hey maybe it's Google shooting for a more neutral sound curve which is throwing my perception off. With eq tweaks it sounds pretty good. Definitely not bass heavy by default like it's predecessor. Bass can be cranked up if desired but be aware it gets a little boomy and muddy. Transparency nailed! Noise canceling nailed! Fit is way better and doesn't feel like you don't know which way to seat it in your cartilage. Just twist until the wing rests on your cartilage. Overall I'm impressed with the improvements and it's nice the case design didn't change enough that my Spigen armor case fits perfectly! I highly recommend playing around with different tip sizes and styles as even the large tips didn't seal well for me. This will drastically improve bass and noise canceling. I Had some old wired powerbeats tips laying around and they fit and allow the lid to close with just the right clearance.

The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are simply fantastic! I love how comfortable they are – even during long listening sessions, they never bother my ears. The sound quality is crystal clear, and the active noise cancellation works perfectly to block out distractions.
One of the best parts is that they stay securely in place, even during intense workouts. I never have to worry about them falling out. Plus, the new locate feature gives me peace of mind – no more stressing when I misplace them.
If you’re looking for wireless earbuds that deliver top-notch sound, comfort, and convenience, these are a must-have!

I had the originals and loved them, but they are getting old and have become my work earbuds. Getting these my hope was they'd stay put in my ear better for working out and every day use.
They stay put very well, they feel loose but it's because they are so light weight that you just don't feel them in your ear. Which is awesome!
Sound quality is very flat unless you're at max volume. The bass is crisp but there's no excitement to the music.
There were multiple times I pulled them out and they wouldn't connect so had to put them away and try again.
Talking on the phone they sounded great.

I bought these right before traveling because I'd never owned noise cancelling headphones before. My God they were a life saver! And ear savers! I loved wearing them on the plane and they're very comfortable for my ears and stay in pretty good. I think they sound good too once you tweak the eq. I noticed that they do a good job of drowning out low humming sounds but sharp sounds like voices still come through, which I didn't mind cuz I could hold a conversation with my wife on the plane without hearing the droning of the engines. Side note, the case does get dirty easily. But overall Great purchase!

Much better than the First Generation Pixel Buds Pro. The audio quality is great and especially crisp. The wings on the buds themselves aren't too invasive, especially with the XS earpiece option. I especially enjoy the speaker on the case itself since if the case is lost, you're able to make it ring to find it.

I got these Pixel Buds Pro 2 to go with my new Pixel 10 Pro XL, and they are the perfect match. The "Hazel" color is very sleek and looks great.
Sound Quality & ANC: The sound quality is fantastic—clear highs, rich mids, and deep, satisfying bass that isn't overpowering. The Active Noise Cancellation is also top-notch. It does an amazing job of blocking out background noise like gym music or the hum of an air conditioner. The transparency mode sounds very natural when I need to hear my surroundings.
Connectivity & Features: This is where these truly shine for a Pixel owner. They paired with my phone the instant I opened the case. The connection is rock-solid, and features like Multipoint audio, which lets them stay connected to my phone and laptop simultaneously, are a game-changer. Having Google Assistant in your ear for reading notifications or sending texts is incredibly useful.
Fit & Battery: They are very comfortable to wear for hours at a time, and they come with multiple ear tip sizes to ensure a secure fit. The battery life is also solid, easily getting me through a full day of use with the charging case.
If you own a Pixel phone, these are without a doubt the earbuds to get. The seamless integration and smart features make them an essential accessory.

These are the best earbuds I ever bought and first ever owning Google Pixel ear buds the sounds is amazing and quality is awesome. Battery life last a long time

Improved from the original. Smaller and fits in your ears better. It's easier to get in and out of the case. Noise cancelling is improved. I find my Sony earbuds noise cancelling a bit better but these aren't bad. Earbuds charge very fast as does the case.

I've been using the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 for while now, and they are a great pair of earbuds. The audio quality is excellent, with rich, well-balanced sound. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is fantastic and makes my commute much more peaceful. They're comfortable for long listening sessions, and the battery life is impressive, lasting a full day.
My only minor complaint is that the transparency mode could be more natural. Still, this is a small issue. Overall, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a solid choice for anyone in the Google ecosystem looking for great sound and superb noise cancellation.

I was hesitant to try this on, because of the shape and overall fit, I'm used to the airpods and have been my daily drivers for a couple of years, so naturally the bar was set high. After 2 months of usage I'm greatly impressed by the overall quality, fit, sound profile. Noise cancellation isn't as good as the apple counterpart, but it's good enough for my day to day use. Battery life is just average. There's many features and perks to explore, specially if you also have a Pixel phone, but honestly I wouldn't base a review on those, since I consider that excelling in the basics is what truly sets apart a product in their category.

Great earbuds that stay in my ears

The last two pair of buds I had were Jabras. On one set I dropped the case and it no longer closed properly. I could still use them, but it sounded like a newer version would stay in your ears better. They were worse, and on that set one stopped working after a couple of years. I decided to try the Google Pixel Pro 2 buds. Finally, something that stays in my ears. They stay in my ears. I still have to adjust one from time to time so it is a tight fit as far as noise cancellation (my own ear issue), but they don't fall out. They are smaller than my old ones, and the noise cancellation is better.

Great audio quality. Amazing bass. They pair great with my pixel 9 pro XL. The noise, cancellation mode and transparency modes are both really great. Definitely the way to go if you were in the pixel ecosystem.

Buds 2: Good Listening, Weak for outdoor recording

The Google Pixel Buds 2 offer seamless pairing and a comfortable fit for everyday listening. Sound quality for music and calls indoors is generally good.
However, using them for Bluetooth audio recording outdoors is a letdown. My voice consistently comes out muffled and can get drowned out by background noise. It seems the noise cancellation struggles to differentiate between ambient sounds and my voice in outdoor settings during recording.
Verdict: Solid for listening, but if you need clear audio recording, especially outdoors, the Pixel Buds 2 aren't the best choice due to the muffled voice issue in those environments.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Pixel Buds Pro 2, CorneliusH. While we’re glad you’re enjoying the perfect fit and the sound quality, we hear you on having issues with mic quality. Resetting the ear buds should resolve this issue — here’s how:
1. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and forget Google Pixel Buds. 2. Plug the charging case into a power source using a USB-C cable. 3. Make sure the Pixel Buds are seated within the charging case and leave the charging case open. 4. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case for 30 seconds. 5. When the earbuds status light stops bouncing, let go of the pairing button. 6. Check the earbuds status lights.

I was excited to try the Pixel Buds Pro 2, and the sound quality is definitely impressive—clear, balanced, and with decent bass. ANC works well, and they’re comfortable enough for long listening sessions. That said, the experience is marred by some frustrating issues. The software feels unfinished, and I’ve run into repeated problems with charging and connectivity. Sometimes the earbuds won’t charge properly in the case, and they can lose connection or stay “active” even when not in use, which drains the battery. They’re good if you really want Google integration and don’t mind troubleshooting, but for the price, I expected a more polished experience overall.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Pixel Buds Pro 2, Matt. While we’re glad you’re enjoying the sound quality and noise cancellation, we hear your concerns regarding connectivity. We’d be happy to look into this further with you and get your earbuds working smoothly. I've had these for a few days and I have to say, compared to my Bose QC II's, the audio in these is not great. Not to say that the audio is bad, it's just not nearly as good as the QC II's. The ANC is okay, but still not as good as the Bose adjustable ANC.
I am also not a fan of the fitment of the PB's. They always felt like they were about to fall out.
These do have a few redeeming factors: The battery life is incredible, the mic works very well, and the overall quality of the buds and the case is great!
If you want a good all around bud, these are a great option. They do everything good, but nothing great. I personally prefer the higher quality audio over the extra battery life, so I will likely switch back to my Bose.
