Should've been bigger for battery life!

I love the watch and Fitbit integration but it's small! To the point of almost girl/child like. If your a man with large wrist or woman than it's small. A larger size would've allowed a bigger battery. A up to date precessor would've had better battery! My complaints are size and battery! If they would've brought it out with a newer processor and a slightly larger size i think it would've been the best watch ever! But no it's Google typical. Bring out something cheap and charge a fortune to test waters. Then slowly make things better and cheaper. If it doesn't stick than scrap it! I love Google products but for some reason that's there motto and it's getting old. I might return it, not sure yet. I love everything about it except for battery life. So i might deal with it too see where it goes. Typically though it'll be scrapped and we'll be back to Samsung or ticwatch. I do recommend ticwatch except for looks.

The best Android Smartwatch

I've found that a lot of reviews of the Pixel Watch are overly harsh or seem to have barely used this watch. I've had it since day one and I love it. The premium build is fantastic and its incredibly comfortable to wear. I love the haptics and the digital crown. This is by far the closest any watch on Android comes to matching the Apple Watch in terms of fit and finish and overall fluidity of the OS. Most things run very smoothly with nice subtle animations and transitions. The band is great as well. I also really enjoy the fitness tracking. I have full sleeves on both arms and ive always had issues with smartwatch heart rate accuracy, both from Samsung and Apple. But the Pixel Watch has been awesome so far in this regard, which that alone makes it a keeper for me. But of course this is a gen 1 product and there are some minor areas that need polish in Wear OS, but most things can be fixed with a simple update. The bigger issue has been battery life, which started out very worrysome, but thankfully has gotten better the more I've used it. A full hour workout barely uses anything, which is great if you work out regularly. That being said, this needs to charged every day for sure. But it charges quick and I've found good spots in my daily routine to pop it on the charger for a bit. So it's not a big deal to me. I love this watch and I think its a fantastic start for Google. For anyone looking for an Apple Watch for Android, this is it.

Hi Robklacy, we appreciate your feedback on the new Google Pixel Watch. We're always open to the feedback we get with our Google Nest products since this helps us improve our products and services further. However, it delights us to hear that you have loved your Pixel Watch since day one. We do apologize for the minor bugs and battery life issues you are experiencing.
Use of certain features for your Pixel Watch will definitely decrease the battery life. A full battery for Google Pixel Watch goes all day with a charge that lasts up to 24 hours to support sleep tracking and other features. Google Pixel Watch comes equipped with settings to care for and help extend battery life. The 24 hour battery life is based on the following usage: - 240 notifications. - 280 time checks. - A 5 min LTE phone call. - 45 min LTE and GPS workout with downloaded YouTube music playback. - 50 minutes of navigation (Google Maps) while connected to a phone via Bluetooth®️ - The watch is configured with the default settings, including the Always-on display set to off.
You may check the features that you use most and compare them with the numbers above and see how well your Pixel Watch battery lasts. If you still have any concerns with battery life, or would like us to assist you with any support needs you may have with Pixel Watch, please feel free to contact us here: https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/gethelp

I think, overall, this watch is very meh. Compared to its competitors (Apple and Samsung) at this price range, it's very underwhelming. However, I think Google's heading the right direction and I will gladly pay to support that.
With that said, there are several things Google didn't do right.
1. Size - only 41mm option. I don't have a huge hand, but my previous Samsung Galaxy 44mm size looked great on my wrist. This is very small.
2. Bezel - in addition to the size being small, the bezels are huge. I thought we were past large bezels in current tech?
3. Battery - okay... so, the watch is very small. It makes sense it won't be GREAT battery life, if you consider the small battery that has to go into this. Still... Samsung manages to get great battery life with their small (40-42mm) Galaxy Watch line-up. Google advertises 24 hours, but I really question under what condition. I'm active, but I never tracked my 'fitness' on any of my smart watches because I think it's pointless. All 'fitness' features are turned off, no AOD, limited notifications, auto-brightness, etc... w/e to get longer battery life. My ONLY reason for a smart watch is just to get message notifications, so that I can determine if it's something I need to respond to right away or not. I had my watch fully charged yesterday evening, about 3 hours before bed (11PM). It's about 11AM, the next day, and my battery is at 60%. My Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm), in comparison, would normally be around 90%.
4. Charging Cable - Pixel watch uses a familiar charging puck. It's a puck to USB-C cable. I'm all for USB-C, but....... I don't have a bunch of USB-C low watt power adapter laying around. I have a couple USB-C power adapters from my old Pixels and iPad, but I don't want to use 25W+ adapter to charge a tiny battery. They should've just kept it a USB-A, I have plenty of old Samsung 15W adapters I could've used. OR, just include one on your first Pixel watch, so we can continue to use it for our future Pixel watches.
5. Limited App - in order to use the pixel watch properly, you need 2 apps: Pixel Watch app and Fitbit App. Both apps have their functions, meaning you have to remember/know what type of settings are in which app. If you're making me play 'find Waldo' within an app, that's just bad user design. If you're making me play 'find Waldo' between two different apps, you're just doing something wrong. How long has it been since Google acquired Fitbit... hurry up and merge it so we can have one fluid app for everything. Not to mention, it's not as intuitive or expansive as Samsung and Apple watch apps.
Those were the major things they need to improve by the next generation. Let's be real, Apple Watch is the best smart watch in most ways. This is coming from an Android user. With that said, I hate how ugly the Apple watches are and I prefer to use my Pixel 7 Pro over my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Where Google lacks in hardware, Samsung makes up for that in competing with Apple. For that reason, I've always used Samsung watches because it was the only real competitor to the Apple Watch. While Samsung's new watchOS, in collaboration with Google on its latest Galaxy watches, was a huge improvement over their previous watchOS... it still didn't feel like WearOS that I expected. I love Samsung Galaxy phones, but I wanted a Pixel watch for the same reason I choose the Pixel phones over Galaxy phones. That's pure android experience.
All things aside, the user experience has been pretty great (interacting with just the watch, not its apps).
1. I get my notifications like I want (though, it's super small space to read much)
2. swiping between widgets/faces are super smooth
3. controlling Google Smart Home stuff from the watch is SUPER convenient
4. rotating wheel on the side feels great to use
5. buttons are tactile
6. screen quality is a beauty
7. band is comfortable and easy to put on
I'm really hoping they continue the "Pixel" line-up of devices. Their most recent Pixel Buds Pro is finally catching up to the likes of Apple Airpods Pro. I do kind of worry about scratching or cracking the screen. It's just out there in the open, the whole watch face. I'm waiting on Spigen to release a watch case for this (assuming they will). I traded in my Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm), and despite my complains I still don't regret switching. Google just needs a Pixel watch generation release that ends up being like Google's Nexus 6P. That will put Pixel watch on the map with the likes of Samsung and Apple watches.

Hi there LeeIB, we appreciate your detailed insight on the Google Pixel Watch. We're glad to hear that you liked some of the features and that the user experience for you has been great so far. We do apologize if the watch in general seems to have been underwhelming.
We optimized the design of the Google Pixel Watch to work for a wide range of users with different wrist sizes. With the easy to use band attach and wide range of accessories, users can easily personalize the look of the device.
Battery life will depend on how you use the Google Pixel Watch. The maximum battery life is approximate and is based on testing using pre-production hardware and software. Use of certain features will decrease battery life. Battery life depends on features enabled, usage, environment and many other factors. Actual battery life may be lower. Also, charging speed will depend upon many factors including usage during charging, battery age, and ambient temperature. Ideal charging speeds are listed below:
About 30 minutes to 50% About 55 minutes to 80% About 80 minutes to 100%
If your charging speed is lower than these estimates please ensure you are charging in a cool place, removed from direct sunlight. Ensure that the watch is sitting or connected to the charger completely. Please also ensure you are using a USB-C USB-Power Delivery compliant power adapter.
We'll make sure to look into the other details of your feedback and see how we can further improve our product features and offerings. You may reach out to our support team for any other support needs you may be having by simply visiting us here: https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/gethelp

My favorite smartwatch since the Moto360

Ive had smart watches about as long as they have been around. Ive had the moto360, several models of samsung watches, apple watches, the tic watch, and zenwatch. The pixel watch has been my favorite smart watch Ive used to date. On launch the battery life could be sketch but even over the course of the last two weeks that has improved. I tend to get about a day and a half out of it without using the bedtime mode. Aesthetically its eye catching and functionality has been exactly what I wanted. Google Wear OS continues to prove open-source is the way to go for watches. More than happy being an early adopter on this one.

A lot of people have reservations over a few things about this watch.
1) Bezels and display size... First off, resolution is much more important than size. They could make the display bigger, but if it were the same amount of pixels, you still wouldn't be able to display any more information. The resolution of this display is great, and the bezels are much nicer looking in person than they look if try to get a feeling for it online. Overall, I think the display is great, responsive, and a nice size that suits most people. I do wish they would have had multiple sizes, but I'm not surprised being a first gen watch.
2) Battery life. If you are someone that will charge this watch while you sleep, then it's not an issue at all. I found that I am right at the cusp of 24 hours. I do wish that it had just 1 or 2 hours more of life to make it through the day and sleep. On the flip side, this watch charges really fast. It's easy for me to just put it on the charger while I do my nightly routine and then I have more than plenty to get through a sleep cycle.
I like everything else about the watch as well. Nice design. Comfortable bands, and a solidly built look. If you're a FitBit user already, and wish they had a full smartwatch option, this definitely fits the bill. The one thing I was hoping for was that I could keep my old Fitbit to wear to bed while the Pixel charged overnight, but unfortunately Fitbit will only allow one watch on your account at a time.

My Take on the Google Pixel Watch - Is It Worth Yo

Alright, so I've been rocking the Google Pixel Watch for a bit now, and let me tell you, it's been quite a ride. Here's my breakdown:
Looks and Feels: First off, this thing looks slick. It's got a classy, round face that's pretty eye-catching. Doesn't feel cheap at all - the body is solid, and the straps? Super comfy. It's like the little black dress of smartwatches - works with gym shorts or a suit.
Using the Thing: The interface? Smooth as butter. Google's Wear OS is easy to get the hang of, and swiping through notifications and apps feels natural. And, yes, being able to ask Google Assistant stuff right from my wrist is as cool as it sounds. Plus, I can glance at my wrist for directions without looking like a lost tourist, so that's a win.
Fitness Stuff: Now, I'm not exactly training for a marathon, but I do like to keep an eye on my steps and heart rate. This watch has been great for that. It's got Fitbit smarts built-in, so it's giving me all these insights and nudges to move more. Pretty neat for staying on top of my health game.
Battery Life – Yay or Nay? Ok, so the battery life isn't mind-blowing. I get through most of the day, but if I'm using it a lot, I might need a quick charge in the evening. Not a dealbreaker for me, but something to think about.
Bang for Your Buck: Price-wise, it's not the cheapest watch on the block, but I feel like you get a lot for what you pay. It's a solid mix of style, smarts, and functionality.
Final Verdict: All in all, I'm pretty stoked about the Pixel Watch. It's a great companion for both daily use and fitness tracking. If you're in the market for a smartwatch that looks good and keeps up with your techy needs, this one's definitely worth considering!

In general, I like this watch. I upgraded from a Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle watch, and it easily outperforms it. The screen resolution is crisp, and the screen animations are both snappy and smooth. I also get about 1 1/2 to 2 days of battery life using the settings out of the box. The smaller size compared to my previous watch has also grown on me, and its comfort on my wrist is a definite plus.
My gripes:
1) In order to keep up the battery life, I have to turn off the "always on" screen option.
2) I'm not certain about how I feel about eventually paying for fitness tracking features via Fitbit. I believe you can still use Google Fit with this, but, honestly, I haven't tried to yet because I still in the 6-month free Fitbit trial.
3) Though the "bezel-less" design is very nice, I'm deathly afraid of smacking this against the edge of something really hard and scratching, chipping, and/or breaking this. I've played hell trying to find after market screen protectors and bezels to protect the screen.
4) I think this is overpriced at $350. I felt marginally better about buying this when it was on sale over the holidays for about $300. I would suggest to anyone else interested in this watch to wait for sales also.
Otherwise, this fits my needs which are basically timekeeping, fitness tracking, Google Nest compatibility and accessing other occasional Google features that I would find on my phone.

Hi ThomasM, we’re glad to hear that you like the Pixel Watch in general, and that it fits your needs. We appreciate you for pointing out your concerns about some of its features.
The new Google Pixel Watch is a fully featured smartwatch with LTE capabilities, a bright display and robust haptics. These features require additional power over what is needed for other devices, but also provides helpfulness and health insights even when you don’t have your phone on you (LTE only). Maximum battery life is approximate and is based on testing using pre-production hardware and software, and use of certain features will decrease battery life. Battery life depends on features enabled, usage, environment and many other factors. You can turn on Battery Saver when your Google Pixel Watch battery gets low. Please note while Battery Saver is on, the ""Always-on screen"" and ""Tilt-to-wake"" feature will be set to Off. People give most of the negative reviews regarding a pixel Watch sighting poor battery usage. If you take the time to set up your watch by turning off features not needed/wanted such as dim the screen brightness (which on the lowest level can still be seen just fine in the sun, especially with adaptive screen brightness turned on), and turn off alerts for apps that are not inportant, etc., you'll get better battery life than the Apple Watch 7 like I am experiencing. When compared to Samsung Galaxy watch, you could argue that Samsung wins, but again, the issue is that if you compare the Galaxy Watch that is comparable in size, the battery life is much closer than stated. The reviewers are comparing the Galaxy Watch of a larger size which of course contains a bigger battery. The only negative I would ding google for other than the price being slightly higher than I would like to see is that to get the in-depth analysis of activity and sleep tracking, you have to pay for a Fitbit subscription. It is not required and still gives descent reports, but Samsung is free (you do get more in Fitbit Premium in comparison though). Lastly, I've read reviews knocking Pixel Watch for not auto-tracking workouts. This is false as well. Pixel Watch will record activities that you do not initiate through the Fitbit app. Best thing about Pixel Watch is that it is probably the most elegant design I've owned in a fitness watch.

I had the Pixel Watch for a week and as a daily smartwatch and general fitness watch it was great. Android Pay worked very well and Fit Bit connection and integration was also really good. Very comfortable and stunningly gorgeous. Yes, I got many compliments. Now for the not so good. Screen is kinda on the small side making things hard to read and despite having a bright screen by what I heard I did not find it very bright making it more difficult to read in bright SoCal sun. Unfortunately I run almost daily and found it too hard to read during my runs. Also there was little to no customization to the run data screens. Basically the workout menu system needs a lot of work. So for just general smartwatch for Pixel watch this is perfection, but if your even slgihtly into sports especially running it is a hard pace from me. Google needs to make a Pixel Watch "Ultra" version. LOL!

As a Pixel fan, I think the Pixel watch is a decent start as a first gen device. I've previously used Fitbit devices, and i'm enjoying the extra "smart" capabilities that the Pixel Watch offers over something like the Versa, especially in terms of functionality and 3rd party applications while maintaining all the Fitbit data i've been accustomed to.
The OS runs incredibly smooth, and I absolutely love the look of the watch overall and I think it's one of the prettiest looking smartwatches on the market. The big draw back is the battery life, which many professional reviewers touch on. I think most can expect 18-24 hours of battery life depending on how much you're using the watch, especially with any GPS enabled workouts or a large amount of notifications and activity.
Probably not worth it for anyone used to Apple Watches or Galaxy Watches, but good for Google fans that have been waiting for a watch. Might be better to wait for the 2nd gen though.

The watch is light doesn't get cumbersome throughout the day barely notice you have it on. The haptic feedback is apple watch like enough to get your attention. The fitbit intergration is solid. The watch is beautiful to look at and will turn heads as it has no peer right now esthetically excellent watch face selection as well That's the good. The bad the watch is small it is expensive and the screen while bright feels cramped the bezel is too big and the watch band feels very cheap. I expected a power house longer lasting battery for this price and with all data out there alluding to the fact that battery life is important feature but they could not pull it off in this first iteration. Maybe the second one will be better. Overall it works well with other android phones and its obviously best suited with pixel phone. Hope some of this helps.

I really like the watch. I'm upgrading from a Fossil Sport. It's comfortable and and responsive. I've had no issues with the watch since I've had it. My main complaints about the watch is that you have to play with the settings to get the best battery life and that there's a Fitbit subscription that you get a trial of. You would think Google could give you the full benefits of their watch by buying it, and they also own Fitbit, but you don't. I'm not a fan of the all-glass face either, but you can buy a guard for the face. I would recommend the watch on sale but not at full price at this time.

Hi ZeroX, thanks for giving us feedback on Pixel Watch and we're sorry to hear that your experience is less than ideal.
The new Google Pixel Watch is a fully featured smartwatch with LTE capabilities, a bright display and robust haptics. These features require additional power over what is needed for other devices, but also provides helpfulness and health insights even when you don’t have your phone on you (LTE only). Maximum battery life is approximate and is based on testing using pre-production hardware and software. Use of certain features will decrease battery life. Battery life depends on features enabled, usage, environment and many other factors. You can turn on Battery Saver when your Google Pixel Watch battery gets low. Please note while Battery Saver is on, the ""Always-on screen"" and ""Tilt-to-wake"" feature will be set to Off. We’re focused on delivering quality products to our customers. That means obsessing over the details and ensuring products last a long time. This is am amazing watch that works with pixel phone seamlessly. Great gadget to keep track of your physical fitness journey and stay healthy. It has great applications from google.
However, it does your calculate calories even when you are not wearing the watch. I think this is done based on your BMI, but I can not get the watch to stop counting these calories, because I am only interested in understanding how much I burn when I am wearing that watch. Maybe there should be an option for this.

I'm super forgetful about schedules, important messages, and where my actual phone is.
You can add whatever apps you have on your phone via the app which helps tremendously with work life and personal life.
It does have a gesture option to view your phone without touching it. The assistant is a plus as well.
My advice when purchasing:
Make sure you clean the sensor regularly.
Charge it during the slow time of the day. It can hold a charge for about 24 hours if it's used more.
Get a case
The only things that could use some improvement are:
The Fitbit option is handy when monitoring heart rate but the steps are inaccurate. It counts driving too.
But overall it's an awesome product.
