For reference, this review is written by someone coming from a Galaxy Watch 5 44mm. Having followed the rumors about this watch, I was led to believe this watch was going to be the worst watch ever, given the small battery, big bezels, old processor, bla-bla. However, it has pretty quickly become my favorite watch. Software fixes most of the issues the hardware has. First, the design and display are stunning. The dome-like display looks beautifully modern, to say the least. Without an app highlighting them, the bezels are invisible. The display is sharp and colorful, but it is a little small coming from a 44mm watch. I found it really easy to get used to, however. One of the issues with the design and display are the big bezels. I truly thought they were going to ruin the experience, but the UI is designed to hide the bezels. Google did a good job at this. However their efforts are undermined by third party apps. For example, the Chevron app(picture #2) and its all white background actively highlights the big bezels. As of now, it is the only app I have that does so, so I won't let it affect my rating, but do keep in mind that not all third party apps look pretty on this watch. Performance is another thing many people were quick to bash this watch over once rumors showed an old chip, but Google clearly went through a lot of effort to optimize this watch. The system UI and first party apps are insanely smooth, with no lag or stuttering. My old Galaxy Watch 5 with a far newer chip would always lag and stutter when scrolling tiles or using the digital bezels to scroll the UI. One place the Galaxy Watch was a little faster, was loading third party apps, however. Opening my 2FA app or App In The Air, for example, takes a second or two longer on the Pixel Watch. Fitness features have been taken over by FitBit, and I've been loving it so far. Tracking seems to be accurate, and GPS locks on fast. One thing I might note is that Google has not activated the SP02 feature yet. I can only wonder why, but hopefully we'll see that soon. With everything else good, it's time to touch up on the not-so pretty part of this watch, the battery. Google claims 24hrs, and that has been accurate for me, but I have also disabled the Always on Display and the Hey Google activation. With these off, Tilt-to-wake on, hundreds of notifications a day, about 1hr of GPS exercise a day, and sleep tracking, I am left with around 15% before I need to recharge an hour before bed time. Including sleep tracking time, I use my watch from 00:30-23:00 usually. Now, it lasted a full day, sure, but missing out on the Always On Display is a little disappointing. I don't NEED it, but I do like it on during formal events, as it makes the watch look a little nicer. Also, with AOD, tilt-to-wake, and Hey Google on my Galaxy Watch 5, I'm left with around 50% during the same time period. I could go an extra day, or if I turned off some features, maybe 3 or 4 days. I hope Google improves the battery with the next one, but, as is it's ok. The battery is why this watch isn't 5 stars however. Charging doesn't exactly do much to remedy the battery issues. The watch uses a 5W charger, and it's taken about 1hr 15min each charge for me. If the watch had a 10W charger like the Galaxy Watch 5, combined with the puny battery the Pixel Watch has, charging times would have been far better. Overall, unless you need multi-day battery life or a larger screen, this is probably the best Wear OS 3 watch to get taking the design out of consideration. As for the design, style is different for everyone, so that part is up to you.

Hi there SeaboundAvian, thanks for taking the time to share a detailed review of your Google Pixel Watch. We're glad to hear that you liked the performance and design.

Battery experience depends on how you use the Google Pixel Watch. Keep in mind that the maximum battery life is approximate, and is based on testing using pre-production hardware and software. Use of certain features will decrease battery life. Battery life depends on features enabled, usage, environment and many other factors. Actual battery life may be lower. Also, charging speed will depend upon many factors including usage during charging, battery age, and ambient temperature. Ideal charging speeds are listed below:

      About 30 minutes to 50%
      About 55 minutes to 80%
      About 80 minutes to 100%

If your charging speed is lower than these estimates please ensure you are charging in a cool place, removed from direct sunlight. Ensure that the watch is sitting or connected to the charger completely. Please also ensure you are using a USB-C USB-Power Delivery compliant power adapter.

SpO2 will be available on Google Pixel Watch at a later date, and we're hoping you will keep an eye on our future updates. We'll certainly take your feedback into consideration and see how we can further improve the design and features for the Pixel Watch. Great smartwatch. If you want to just charge it once a day: You have to make some modifications to save battery. For it to last longer. Take into consideration I use my pixel waatch mainly to receive notifications from apps such as whatsapp, messenger, text messages, and other in cellphone apps notifications (uber etc..) and I track my workouts for 30 minutes and i track my sleep. Usually it charges fully if you let it charge for 30-45 minutes. It could last longer, but you would have to choose a very minimalistic face (each face affects the battery life differently). The original bands are very comfortable to wear all day. i do not take it into the shower with me since I usually get extra juice for my battery when I am showering. It works perfectly with fitbit and pixel pro 7. I attached a picture of the face i use.

It has a older processor and it's somewhat minimal in what you can do on it compared to the apple watch but it's not bad. It's efficient and surprisingly stylish but I can't trust a watch without sapphire glass seeing I personally bump into things waist level being tall. But for the price it really shouldn't be this behind with it's compactors aka the Samsung watches which are cheaper and higher spec.

Great smart watch for those who do not have a Samsung or iPhone. I bought this after my Fitbit sense stopped working and it integrates many of the features that I liked from the Fitbit but also has much better compatibility for normal phone activities, texting, calling, maps, etc. Main drawback is the battery life. I have to charge it daily for over an hour.

Bought to replace a Fitbit Charge 3 that broke. I've had the last few generations of Google Pixel phones, so I thought I'd give the watch a try. I've had it for 3 weeks and have had zero issues. Easy start up and easy to learn. Battery could be better. I'm charging the watch every 1.5-2 days

I really like this watch! This is my first smartwatch, coming from a Fitbit Charge 5 which bricked on me. This watch has all the Fitbit features plus a lot more. I love how on Spotify you can download podcasts and music right on the watch and don't have to carry around my phone. Even my Pixel Buds connect directly to the watch! My only complaint is I wish there were more apps available on WearOS. Even Google's own Podcasts app is not available. I also wish Audible was available, but I doubt that will ever happen considering it's Amazon. The screen on the phone is clearly an OLED with perfect blacks, but bright colors still really pop and is pretty easy to read outdoors even when it's sunny. This thing has some really cool watch faces available for it. I think this watch is a really good value for the money. I was worried it was going to be slow and janky but it's very quick and smooth to operate. The band system is also very intuitive and you can wear the watch on either hand. The software also allows you to invert the watch image so you can have the dial on whichever side you prefer. Oh! One other feature I love is that you can use the watch as a remote control for your phone. When I go to bed, I have my phone in a dock on my headboard and usually listen to rain or white noise to fall asleep. If it gets too loud, I can just turn down the volume with the knob on the watch without having to fumble around in the dark. Awesome! Battery life says "up to" 24 hours but it easily lasts longer than that, even after a run and listening to podcasts. I usually get around a day and a half out of it. It charges very quickly as well. If you wear this watch to track your sleep, you'll be happy to know that as long as you have around 10% battery left when you go to bed, that's more than enough to last the whole night. Another useful feature is you can make and receive calls and texts on the watch. You can also use the watch to find your phone and the phone to find your watch.

This watch being it's the first one from Google is rather good. Google gets beat up pretty hard on lots of their devices, however being this is their first it's pretty good. The battery life I'm getting at least 24 hours. When you first set it up of course the battery life is not going to be as good, and that's always the worst time to give a battery review, which a lot of people tend to do. Let things settle for a week or two and get everything set up and then see what the battery life is. Overall the syncing with the Google pixel 7 Pro phone has been very good. This watch has all of the data that you need to get through the day. The notifications are excellent. Even apps that are not installed on the watch can still give you notifications such as storm alerts. One interesting thing about the apps is that there is no native Gmail app on this watch which is rather surprising being it's a Google product. It's more odd because even Outlooks app is on here where you can go into your inbox for your email, where you can't with Gmail. Hopefully a future update will include Gmail. You are able to get your Gmail notifications though, which is good. There are many watch faces to choose from which is very nice. I only think this experience is only going to get better with each update. For a first device like this for Google this is rather good. I've been using it for over a week now which is still on the early side but so far it's been a solid experience. The Fitbit integration is great as well if you are coming from a Fitbit device you'll be very familiar with all of the metrics. No problem syncing with Fitbit. There is one other thing about the SPO2 sensor, at the time of writing this it is not active yet but it is available on the watch. I would imagine this is coming soon. It's another nice metric to have especially if you're used to it coming from a Fitbit product. The other gripe that we hear is the size of this watch being only 41 mm. Not sure why Google did not offer another size as well. I would imagine they're taking a lot of feedback on this and will offer two sizes next time. For me it still is fine with the 41 mm they do a good job with not showing the bezel with certain watch faces. Again overall very good experience so far and looking forward to the updates to come. For first effort they did a rather good job.

Hey there, JenniferL Thank you for posting your review on Google Pixel Watch. We're sorry to hear that your experience with the battery life of the watch has been less than ideal. A fully charged battery should last up to 24 hours with the Always-on Display feature turned off. We suggest turning on some of the settings to save power and extend the battery life of the device such as Battery saver, Full Doze mode and Bedtime mode. Pretty cool watch. I really like it. The battery last about a day and a half. I get messages through Facebook Messenger through the watch. And it connects to my phone via bluetooth. It's also cool that you can go to Amazon and upgrade the bands for pretty cheap. And there's a lot of different options. You can also download a few different apps to have pretty much any watch face on the front of it that you want. There's literally all kinds.

If you want the best experience of a Vanilla/Pure Android Watch, this is it. And also Fitbit integration included. With Fitbit, the Pixel Watch tracks your continuous heart rate, steps, floors climbed, sleep stages, distance with GPS, and active exercise minutes, as well as having 40 different exercise modes. With so many workout options to pick from, there’s a high chance that your usual exercise routine can be tracked with Pixel Watch. You also get an ECG app, which can help detect signs of atrial fibrillation (A-fib). Hopefully the SpO2 sensor gets turned on via update. Battery life could be better but it is holding up for 24hrs. All sensors on and always on display the battery is at 20% at 24hrs for me. I've owned other Android Wear watches but this one feels the best when navigating around the menus. I've never owned a smartwatch before I didn't go for the newer model as this was half off. I don't regret it, it's still a very solid watch, battery life seems fine for me. I get back home with 30-40% charge after a full day. Very comfy to wear and so great when paired with my Pixel phone. So seamless.

I enjoy using my Google Pixel Watch. It's a good pairing with the Pixel series of phone's. It does everything advertised which isn't much and that's ok. Battery life isn't the best but it gets me through a day and a half. It takes a while to sync your data with the Fitbit app. Step tracking could be better but it isn't horrible. I expect a few feature drops from Google to improve the Watch where it is lacking. Hopefully the 2nd generation offers a larger screen size. It's an overall good 1st attempt from Google.

This was a decent watch at first. Beautiful to look at, impresssive display, comfortable, and integrated with Fitbit which I've been a member of for many years. I thought it was a sensible transition from my Versa 4 to the Pixel Watch. Well, I was very wrong. The battery life is terrible; lasts just over 24 hrs, with everything turned off (always on display, wrist turn, etc). Fitbit Versa lasted 4 days. Then, about 8 months after i purchased it, the back of the Pixel watch spontaneously cracked. I sent an email and picture to Pixel Watch support and that was utterly useless. They will not back their warranty, even though a quick internet search shows many other people have had this issue. When asked directly several times why they wouldn't repair or replace my watch, they gave me a vague answer. And they even tried to pin the blame on Best Buy, who only sold me the watch and nothing else. So i guess i will just wait until this wearable completely stops working and then I will either go with Samsung or Garmin. I don't want to go back to Fitbit since Google purchased them and will most likely ruin them too.
