    Great laptop, even better performance

The Pixelbook is a great alternative to high end laptops (Microsoft Surface line, the new Macbook). Google really took a new approach to their Chromebook line and I think it is a great product. You have to keep in mind that this is at heart, a chromebook. You won't get a traditional OS and limited offline experience, but I am finding that I could realistically move away from Windows and not be angry about it. Battery life is a realistic 6-8 hours of heavy use. I haven't had the chance to use it lightly yet, but the 10 hours isn't a stretch. The included 45W USB-C charger does charge quite quickly as well. Let's talk about a few of the pros. Build quality is exceptional! The hinges feel very sturdy, no screen wobble at all, and no flex in the keyboard. The trackpad is made of glass and has a really nice click and great touch support. The key travel is definitely less than a Macbook or Surface, but I really like it. A few little features that are much appreciated are: unlocking Pixelbook with phone, instant tethering, and android app support all work great. Wouldn't be fair if I didn't address some of the cons. Being a Chromebook, the offline use is limited. Android/Chrome Apps don't all support offline use. Apps like Adobe Lightroom, Google Keep, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint all have syncing abilities, and will let you "catch up" when you come back online, which helps. I did notice that if you squeeze the Pixelbook when closed, you do click the trackpad. Not a huge issue as you don't usually grab it there, but be warned. I think the i7 is a good option for someone who wants to edit photos/videos or heavy multitasking. Perhaps for enterprise use, but it is a little harder sell for the average consumer, but the other chipset/storage solutions can easily work for you. I would highly recommend this as a companion device and potentially your daily driver. Good luck! *I have not yet used the Pixelbook Pen, but I will update this review after I have.

    Great piece of hardware

The guy who reviewed this before must be on something. Seriously my first thought when I powered the Pixelbook up was Wow, that screen is bright! Yes, it is expensive. Don't buy it if you don't want to. I bought the i7 because I wanted the longevity. Works very well in Chrome OS. Still needs to improve on the Android app side though. The apps work great, but the Pixelbook gets hot when using apps. It feels pretty hot, but when I used a temperature gun-thing, it wasn't as hot as I expected... still warmer than I would like though. That is about my only complaint so far. The Pen is a good tool for handwriting notes and whatnot, but like I said, it gets hot when using Android apps and that's when you'll be using the stylus... Unless you use it for Google Assistant-- which works well. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but if you don't like Chrome OS I wouldn't get one. Offline use is perfectly fine. Chrome backs it all up for you once you get connected... but some people just don't like the OS. I've been using Chomebooks for the last several years-- I love it.

Does NOT work with G Suite / Google Apps Accounts

Great piece of hardware but you cannot use the Google App Store if you have a corporate / business / G Suite / Google Apps account. Put another way, you CANNOT use Android apps and the tablet functionality becomes somewhat useless. And Google Customer Support does not know how to support this yet --- you get passed around to different groups depending on if the issue is hardware, software, android or Chromes OS. Horrible ownership experience. I cannot understand why they would only want to restrict sales of this superlative hardware to individuals consumers that are using personal gmail accounts. Major fail.

Chromebooks are not what they once were. I went into buying the Pixelbook with doubts of spending almost 1700 on a Chromebook. Let me tell you, Chromebooks are no longer for Mom and Grandpa. With recent support of linux apps, and being able to run native Android apps, this feels like a dream. Great web browser with Chrome, any app from the Play Store and I can fall back to running linux. Linux support is real, I was able to even install FireFox! In love with this so much that i might become my daily driver soon!

The Pixelbook is awesome. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard is excellent, and performance is zippy. The only issue with this device is ChromeOS. ChromeOS is great for low end devices; but for a device with excellent specs, it might be be not enough. The ability to run Android apps is good, but not perfect. There is talk of being able to run Linux applications in future versions of ChromeOS. When that occurs, this device becomes much more useful.

What can I say that hasn't been said in a million other reviews? It's one of the best Chromebooks money can buy. The keyboard is fantastic. I bought the top-of-the-line model, which is probably way overkill, but I am hoping to use it to run Linux apps, and I'm hoping to get into creating some art with the pen. I got mine on a good sale.

I love my pixelbook. it's lightweight, fast, and allows me to be able to take notes in my grad school classes directly on the screen, as well as highlighting pdf readings for classes. plus I can email and play games when I have time! it's exactly what I wanted and was looking for to make my life easier at work and grad school.

The size of the Chromebook is so convenient. Easy to take wherever you go. Love having the choice to use touchscreen. Mainly use the device to design and create logos. Having the pen is also a must have!

The Google Pixelbook is the first Chromebook worthy of consideration alongside the most high-end Windows and Mac devices. From its excellent design to its massive software enhancements, this is the best Chromebook to date

I bought this, then returned it because although it is a powerful machine, the version of Office Apps available is not good if you're a power user; especially Excel.

It's allot more than the average Chromebook user needs. But this Chromebook is powerful enough and with enough storage and features that I have replaced my home computer with it.
