DO NOT buy a Google Play e-gift card from Best Buy, you might not be able to use it!! I bought a $200 google play e-gift card which cannot be redeemed. I bought it for Father’s Day so my dad could use it on his YouTube Premium subscription. The card was emailed directly from Bestbuy.com. My dad has not been able to redeem the gift card since June - it’s Halloween tomorrow. When attempting to redeem, an error comes up that states “more information is needed”. We went to a Best Buy store and the associate confirmed the receipt, and that it was activated and it has an unused $200 balance. They said we needed to contact google. Google only has an online support function, you have to submit a ticket where they ask for an image of the purchase receipt and the code of the gift card. After you send the info, there’s no answer or follow-up after. I bought this gift card from Best Buy thinking that it’s a reputable seller of gift cards. I’m not sure if this is a Best Buy issue or a Google issue, regardless - they both took my money and there’s basically support from either vendor. I am shocked because I basically got a fraudulent/in-genuine e-gift card directly from bestbuy.com. What was meant to be a gift turned out to be an enormous frustration. What makes this even more hilarious is that writing this review enters me in a chance to win a $400 google play e-gift card LOL what a joke. I sincerely hope no one else buys this and goes through this
