I bought the camera the night before we left on vacation to the carribean, so I did not have ample time to set the camera up with my iPhone. It was pretty nerve wracking taking the photos and videos on the trip without being sure of the quality and location of the shots without the viewfinder. Much to my surprise when I got back and downloaded the photos and videos, to say I was pleased is an understatement, they are truly amazing! Super happy with the camera, and did not have to plead forgiveness from the wife, because I did not tell her until we were on the trip, in the pool that I had bought it! Even the photos in the ocean are spectacular!!

With all the different models of gopros I choose this one. For what I'm going to use it for, (mountain biking, motorcycles, jet ski) It works just fine. The audio and video quality at this price range is nice. Also you don't need to buy an expensive memory card like the $400 and $500 dollar models. The mounts do get expensive quick. Gopro studio software is easy to use, has cool effects, and let's you add music to the background. The most disappointing thing about the camera is the cell phone app. You should see on your cell phone screen what the camera is recording. The app takes a long time for that feature to work. Sometimes it just doesn't work.

Great camera for the price and easy to use. The protective case could stand to be a bit more durable and the battery life could be vastly improved. It's light and portable - a plus for using it in a range of applications. The user interface is simple and easy to understand. Sound quality is great. Video quality is superb and still shot quality is OK.

My girlfriend bought this GoPro to use when she went to the Philippines. She found it so easy to use and took some awesome ziplining and snorkeling footage while she was there. This camera is simple to use and the quality is really good! I would have liked to get the black edition, but I didn't want to spend the extra money.

I bought the gopro for my so. Since he loves to make skate videos. He loves the camera and it is easy to use. The battery life is short so it is worth buying the bigger extra battery pack. There is every accessory imaginable mDe for the gopro including apps.

I bought a GoPro2 in 2012. I purchased it for durability and video quality. Most of the time, it is mounted to one of my Australian Shepherds while playing Frisbee or swimming. I purchased a GoPro3 at the beginning of September of 2014. GoPro has improved the quality of the video greatly while maintaining the durability.

After having it about a month I've recorded about 20 videos. Primarily, I use it for getting footage of my vehicles in action and also my friends. The quality of the video is great and the features using the wifi and smartphone app is awesome. I'm so glad I went with a Hero 3 rather then the Hero 2. I hope to use it on vacation and while snorkeling and wish I would have had it the last 10 years. I also purchased the gopro suction cup mount. It has worked as indicated with no issues. Holds firm with no fear of it letting go as long as it's mounted properly. The micro SD card has been great, writing all video quickly and efficiently. I haven't had any problems with any products I've purchased.

Bought the camera to use on road trips. The picture quality was as expected and was pretty good. However the sound quality was not good and requires an external mic. Also, I was expecting longer battery life or an easier way to use an 12v power source. This was more likely from my expectations and less of an issue with the actual camera. Still a good purchase.

We are learning to use our GoPro HeroIII. Very light weight, small too. The video/picture is amazing made our setting vibrant and lively with realistic light. Settings are simple, menus could be shorter, haven't found a backup button. Works great when on, needs a battery back pack or something, holds little life. GoPro memory card is a have to buy. Overall I would buy again.

To preface this review I am a long time user of camcorders. Had this camera before gave it away as a gift bought another one. That's how much we love it. This camera is a great action cam but its durability and easy to use make it great for travel also. The video quality is great the photos are not bad. This has a wide angle lens. It seems to do well for close up or distance shots. Where this differs from a camcorder is there is no zoom. Wide angle lens is a nice alternative. Its more for action shots but works well for other filming. In some respects it may give you a more dynamic exiting perspective to your videos. It comes with everything you need. In addition, would recommend to get the LCD Bacpac to use it like a camcorder. Also, there is a cheap adapter for tripod or monopod or whatever mounting you want to do. Lastly, ,there is a huge community of users that have all kinds of tips and information to share (YouTube it). I wont say it replaces the digital camera or the camcorder.. This camera will not be for everyone. For me, If I can only take one device on a trip I would grab the GoPro.

This is a great camera for beginners. My biggest complaint is the fact it doesn't come with a memory card which you need in order to operate it. Really? GoPro you make yourself look cheap by not including an inexpensive card to at least get the person started. And your product is not a bargin, I paid this for the compact portability nothing more.

Bought this camera instead of the more expensive 4. We went to Hawaii and the quality was more than what I expected. Highly recommended to anyone with limited experience with this type of cameras. After looking at the footage I give it a 8/10 for the specs this camera has.

Good camera. You can mount it anywhere... literally. Only complaint is that the menu is odd. Very non descript. Also the little instruction sheet it comes with lacks depth into what the features actually do. You chouldn't have to go online to download a full user manual. I will say that once you get the presets down to where you want them... you get amazing video. Aftermarket is finally catching up... telescoping poles, bobbers (for you divers). Look out for new stuff for these cameras. They are here to stay.

I really like this camera. It is easy to use and very versatile with all the different accessories. I love the playback on a phone feature. The accessories are expensive and the lighting is a somewhat poor, otherwise a great camera.

I haven't had a chance to use this snorkeling yet. I've just been practicing around the house with it. The fish eye lens is very evident in my pictures. Unless it is bright outside the pictures are somewhat muddy. The pictures are more distant and less sharp than I am used to. i bought an iPad to use with the go Pro app. The iPad is much easier to use than the go Pro camera is. The tiny LCD screen is difficult for me to navigate and I often forget which button to push to select and which to push to scroll.

I bought this camera before I drive to the west coast for a vacation. I need something to record the beautiful scenery on the trip when driving. Its picture quality is nice. But I think the color was not so bright. So the video will not dazzling you. I think it will be better after some video processing. White edition is enough for me. The silver and black edition were so expensive for me even though they have better picture quality. The last thing I want to mention is that its accesseries are also expensive. This camera dont have a dispaly. so you have to buy a backpac, which will cost too much, if you need it.

This camera is one of the greatest things that I own. Since you can take it to the water and other adventures (I also have the chest harness to clip it on) without worrying about it breaking, the memories I captured with it could not have been captured by any other camera and these memories are going to stick around for much longer. However some things are not so great. The price is a little steep, it is difficult to use, and it doesn't have many settings. It can only film and take pictures in fisheye mode. Overall though, this camera has been amazing to own.

Purchased to take out fly fishing. Could not have been more simple to use or more unnoticeable. I will say that the battery life isn't too terribly long so if you intend to leave it on for extended videos I'd look at either buying a spare battery or the battery bacpac. Also worth mentioning that my use is extremely nontechnical (i.e. no cool editing or tricky angles) so I didn't need all the gadgets the higher priced ones have like a remote, etc.
