We took our new cam to Alaska and took video from a seaplane, helicopter and speed boat, and while mushing on a dog sled. Our hope was to capture memories because we will probably never go there again (too many other places to try). Bottom line, it worked great. The aerial videos were excellent. I held the camera in my hand and panned out the windows. Even the helicopter was steady and video was crystal clear. The ride on the dog sled was great too. I opened the back of the cover to get good sound and it captured the howling dogs and whooshing through snow on a glacier.

Loved being able to take it scuba diving and wearing it on my head meant that my hands and arms were free.

It's been used in extreme conditions and for prom pictures. Works great and easy to use with great quality!!

GoPro cameras capture excellent picture and are a great way to document things that happen in your life. Really easy to use and easy to recommend.

I actually have not used the camera. I bought it for my 12 year old son for Christmas. He has been asking for one for awhile and he has big plans for it. I think the size is fantastic for someone his age, the price is great for the all the camera offers and it seems like its going to be a great camera for a beginner.

The video quality on this camera is excellent. Since it is the base unit don't expect smart phone integration. You will have to learn how to aim since you will not have the option of previewing the angle on your phone. An excellent entry-level unit. Only con is that the tiny settings screen is hard to see sometimes. Note: I would purchase a 32GB card with it.

Even though the price is half that of its predecessors there has been no skimping on the quality of this camera. The picture quality is excellent which has come to be the hallmark of GoPro, it opens the possibilities of the small budget vlogger from limited to endless. The ability to add high quality video to my websites has opened new doors and brought new clients to my home based business. Thank you GoPro.

I really wanted to get my 12 year old a nice camera but didn't want to spend a fortune. The GoPro Hero is affordably priced and delivers impressive results. My daughter loves it and I'm not sure she would even appreciate the differences of the higher priced models at her age. The images are crystal clear and the video is so fun to watch. To top it off, we had a casing issue, went straight to GoPro, and the sent her a brand new item...with proof of the problem. Great product, great customer service.

This was a gift for my 27 year old son. He is a avid hunter and fisherman and likes to record videos of hunting and fishing with his friends. I bought this and the head and chest mount. He said he could not believe how clear the video is and the sound. He says it is the best gift and he looks forward to underwater spear fishing.

Shoots full 1080p is almost indestructible and compact enough to hide in a backpack.

This is my first go pro. I bought a dud of a video camera back in the day and chose to stick with iPhone videos after that. But this is a big advance over iPhone videos. Easy to use. Buying from Best Buy meant if I purchased a dud this time, I would have a reputable company to make things right. Thanks, Best Buy. It is NO dud!

Good way to get into gopro cameras and accessories without the big price. No bluetooth but I have a 3 Silver for main shots.

It's a reasonable camera for entry level. Price point is good for what it offers.

Wonderful underwater clarity and sound as well and the price is very affordable. Will definitely upgrade to a better one.

The GoPro Hero is missing built in WiFi and interchangeable batteries. However, it records 1080p 30fps video while being waterproof and rugged. It's hard to beat this camera for it being only $129. This is the perfect Christmas gift for active children, or anyone new to these cameras.
