If I could give 0 starts I would. We bought this the day before our sons Make-A-Wish trip. Didn't open the box until we made it to Hawaii the next day, to get it out to charge. In the box was a 10 not a 12, AND it was also damaged! We couldn't use it for this once in a lifetime trip. When we got back home I went to return this to the store we purchased it from and they refused to return it saying they couldn't accept the return since we opened the box. So not only was receiving a wrong and damaged item awful the experience with the management at the store was horrible and Best Buy has lost all of respect and I will never purchase another item from Best Buy,

GoPro - HERO12 Black Action Camera Bundle - Black Included- GoPro12, 2 rechargeble batteries, handler, head strap, camera case, USB-C charging cord It does NOT include memory cards This is the best GoPro bundle ever! Not only do you get the latest and greatest GoPro 12, it comes with accessories that you would most likely run out to buy separately and cost more if you did. And this way you have a nice storage/carrying case to have it all packed neatly and safely inside. The GoPro12 is a 27 megapixel camera with a 5K video resolution. It has digital stabilization, 2x zoom, low light high sensitivity capabilities, and LCD display, two memory card slots, and Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity. It is waterproof up to 33ft, has voice control, 8x slo-mo and has wind noise reduction. The GoPro is super easy to use- kids and adults can do it. It works great for any outdoor activities like swimming, skiing and snowboarding, 4-wheeling, biking and hiking, rollercoasters, swings and anything else in between. The camera is super small, compact and lightweight. It won't feel cumbersome to wear or carry around while taking pictures and videos. Changing the camera between accessories is also very easy and all the connecting pieces are included. The quality of everything is amazing. The accessories don't feel cheap and the pictures and videos are clear and vivid. I highly recommend buying the bundle if you don't have the other accessories and you're getting the GoPro12.

Nearly Identical To Hero 11 But Way More Expensive

This camera is nearly identical to the HERO11, the specs are all the same, except the HERO12 has a 4K resolution option in addition to the 5K and 2.7K that the 11 has. That's it? This feature isn't worth the huge difference in price. The same bundle with a HERO11 went on sale today for $299, just a few days after the return window on my purchase expired. Of course. I'm annoyed. But I should have looked into what I was buying better instead of rushing it for Christmas.

How old is GoPro now? As it turns out, they're 21 years old. The most astonishing thing about any brand is never how long they last for, but how recognized their name becomes. GoPro has been the de-facto small camera for content creators, athletes, and probably any activity that might involve the word "Extreme". In this review, we're diving into what sets the GoPro Hero 12 Bundle apart in the world of compact, high-performance cameras. Let's see if we find any new tricks in this familiar companion. Kicking it off from the top, after opening up the hard-fabric carrying case, you're greeted with quite a few pamphlets and some neatly wrapped items. Starting from top-left and moving to the right, we have the Head Strap 2.0 headband, which is rather comfortable, soft, and easily adjustable. Then we have the GoPro Hero12 itself, we'll come back to that. Next to the camera is our GoPro mounting hardware for The Handler+, 2 Enduro Batteries, and a curved adhesive mount, which fits soundly on most helmets. 2 bolts are included for fastening the GoPro Hero12 to its various mounting attachments. The accessories themselves feel solid, you'll be hard pressed to break The Handler or the Head Strap 2.0 unless you're really trying. Both accessories are comfortable to mount/hold and easy to use, so you'll find them enjoyable to use. Albeit, I couldn't imagine a more simple accessory than The Handler, since it's just a bit of foam wrapped around a plastic handle. For anyone whose curious, GoPro does offer a more fully featured battery grip accessory available for the Hero12, along with a whole bunch of other options for anyone looking to get the most out of their GoPro. As you'd expect, the GoPro's camera mounting process is as simple as ever. Just open the tabs on the bottom of the Hero12, slide the Hero12 into the accessory, and tighten the bolt. Quick and simple. So, what are we working with hardware-wise? The Hero12 is equipped with 1/1.9″ image sensor and an f/2.5 aperture lens. Compared to the Hero11, the aspect ratio was changed from 4:3 to 8:7 – and with good reason! 8:7 enables the "Full Frame" view, which makes this GoPro pretty darn versatile. No matter what content you plan to post online, you can get high quality 5.3K video footage and downscale as needed. This enables high quality vertical video for all the best social media formats, including TikTok, Instagram Stories, and YouTube Shorts. For those who don't work with vertical content, they'll appreciate being able to take a wide-view 5.3K shot, crop it, and get beautiful 4K footage. The Hero 12 is capable of shooting HDR (High Dynamic Range) video in various formats: it can record in 4K with an 8:7 aspect ratio at up to 30 fps, in 5.3K with a 16:9 aspect ratio also at up to 30 fps, and in 4K with a 16:9 aspect ratio at up to 60 fps. The dimensions of the GoPro Hero 12 Black are 2.79 inches in width, 2.16 inches in height, and 1.32 inches in depth, with a weight of 153 grams. Turning our heads over to the screens on this unit, the rear LCD screen measures 2.27 inches diagonally, and the front LCD screen is 1.4 inches diagonally. While the Hero12 does not include any internal storage for storing pictures and footage, it does support microSD cards up to 1TB in size. Be sure to use a modern and fast microSD card – the minimum requirements are V30 with a UHS 3 rating. Not to be forgotten, the Enduro lithium-ion batteries are pretty strong as well, boasting 1720 mAh of battery life. This is an important detail – not just because having more recording time is nice, but because cold weather can sap battery life from a device like this rapidly. While numerous electronic gadgets might offer an optional software upgrade for newer models, the Hero 12 makes this update mandatory before initial use. There's a prominent label and a card on the camera stating, "Your camera must be updated before you can use it." After updating, the tactile, rubberized surface of the Hero 12 is immediately noticeable, giving a feeling of quality and heftiness. Flipping through the settings, a few features made themselves apparent right away. There's the addition of wireless timecode synchronization, which allows for the simultaneous use of multiple GoPros. Bluetooth audio support is a bonus as well, enabling audio recording from earbuds and voice commands to the Hero12 via Bluetooth headset mics. Be sure to try this out, it's definitely an underrated feature. Once you start using the device, its performance is consistently outstanding. I've only recorded 4K+ footage in cooler environments so far, without encountering any issues with choppy playback or device overheating. However, I anticipate that in warmer climates, the performance might differ. High-performance cameras typically require a cooldown period after extensive use. The Hero12's video stabilization is remarkable, featuring the advanced HyperSmooth 6.0. At this stage in GoPro's evolution, their stabilization technology is hard to fault, being both impressive and fluid. The camera's wide-angle lens options extend to a 122° horizontal (151° diagonal) field of view in 16:9 format. The array of resolutions, aspect ratios, and features like time-lapse, slow-motion, horizon-lock, and exceptional stabilization lead to stunning video output. Remember to consider your lighting conditions, as the Hero12, despite its f2.5 aperture, performs best in well-lit settings. You'll want to provide it a little more than a single lone light at night, which I learned while recording some test footage in my garage. The "Easy" mode is a delight for users of all skill levels, simplifying the process of creating high-quality videos. Just select your desired aspect ratio and resolution, and start recording. For those who prefer more control, the "Pro" mode offers comprehensive customization options, including HDR/Standard video selection, aspect ratios, resolutions, frame rates, lens views, and much more. The GoPro Hero 12 Bundle stands out as a versatile and high-performing option in the compact camera market. Its impressive features like the advanced HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization, wide-angle lens, and various shooting modes make it an excellent choice for creators of all levels. Whether you're capturing fast-paced action or crafting carefully framed shots, the Hero 12 offers quality and ease of use that's hard to beat. I recommend the GoPro Hero 12 Bundle for anyone seeking a reliable, feature-rich camera that excels in a variety of settings and applications. It's tools like this that bring creative ideas to life easily and that's pretty magical.

I've worked with GoPros for a VERY long time, mostly through work since I am not a daredevil, nor am I particularly good at sports. It is what every media department I have ever worked with has used to get footage in awkward places (like hanging off of a helicopter), or when it is impractical to station a camera person somewhere for long periods, or to film 'B-Roll' footage to help fill in the gaps in their prime footage. There is a reason for that and that is because GoPro makes great cameras that can go pretty much anywhere, take great video, and said video is very easy to work with. The HERO12 Black Action Camera Bundle is no exception to this rule, and if you don't already have a GoPro and need/want to take great video pretty much anywhere your heart desires, it's the one to get. If you already have a HERO10, I'd probably do the upgrade, if you have HERO11, I probably wouldn't. I've been playing with the HERO12 now for about a week and I have some thoughts both good and bad, and maybe a bit indifferent. Good: Phenomenal Video Quality In Bright Light: Daytime outdoor footage and well-lit indoor footage is top-notch. Grain is minimal and colors are bright using the standard set-up. 8:7 Sensor Format: I LOVE this format! While it takes a bit more forethought and imagination to ensure that you are framing things correctly, the versatility you have in post-production with this 'full-frame' image is outstanding. GP-Log: While I'm not great at color-grading, my colleagues wouldn't have it any other way, and being able to shoot video in 'Log' gives you the ability to maximize your colors and tweak them to fit whatever you are trying to create. Hypersmooth 6.0: In some ways this is actually better than a gimbal mounted camera since it also helps with the Z-axis. Yes, you lose some of you frame as the software adjusts things, but it does it so butter smooth and seamlessly, that it is worth it. Doing horizon lock is almost voodoo magic. Voice Control: Works flawlessly straight out of the box with no 'training'. Action Bundle: A very good value if you intend to be filming in rugged terrain or near water. The case is solid and holds everything nicely, and the extra battery is almost required. The Camera Itself: Solid build, responsive and bright screens both front and back. New Mounting System: Hallelujah, GoPro has finally loosened their grip on mounting accessories! Now you aren't forced to only use the GoPro 'finger' mount system and can now also use regular threaded mounts that are found pretty much everywhere else in the photo/videographer world. Indifferent: GoPro QUIK: Won't be using it much so I really don't care about it but it is enraging to find editing tools hidden behind a paywall and to be bombarded with upsell prompts. Charge Time: It took 90 and 91 minutes to charge the two batteries in this pack via the camera, a Thunderbolt 3 cable, and 100w charger. Now I understand that these are the Enduro batteries with 1720mAh capacity, but man did that feel like a long time. Supposedly the HERO12 is supposed to charge faster than ever before, but it seemed like forever to me. I'll probably get the dual battery charger just to make things a bit more seamless if not faster. Battery Capacity Indicator: This isn't so much indifferent as it is 'weird'. It might be a software glitch that will go away with the next firmware update but the capacity of the battery changes when I change modes. Now I would expect that the TIME left on the battery should change wildly when switching modes due to the different power requirements, but the absolute capacity of the battery as a percentage, should NOT change. I was getting fluctuations of almost 10%. No GPS: This is another thing I never used on previous GoPros so I won't miss it, but others might. Bluetooth Headphone/Mic: While appreciated that it is there, I'll never use it because I've yet to find a bluetooth headset that records audio/dialogue better than a dedicated microphone. Bad: GoPro Subscription Assault: Look, I get it. The HERO12 is sold at a pretty competitive price, and subscriptions are all the rage now from all kinds of manufacturers, but please quit asking me to pay for an annual subscription once I say no the first time! I'm not saying the subscription isn't worth it because for a lot of people it will be, especially at the 50% off they are offering right now. If you plan to do all your editing in QUIK, want your video in the cloud, and plan on buying a lot of accessories, it's a great value. But once I say no, please stop asking. Low Light Filming: Other than doing star/automobile trails, the GoPro is not the best out there for nighttime filming. That's my take on the GoPro HERO12. If you are looking for the best action camera out there and don't already have a recent edition GoPro, this is the one to get. If you have another recent GoPro, I'm not quite sure the upgrades, which are mostly on the software/firmware side, are worth it. Have fun filming, and be safe.

GoPro's Hero 12 Black - Peak of Perfection

GoPro hits it out of the park again with its Hero 12 action cam: boasting unparalleled recording ability in a compact package. Physically, Hero 12 features the same rugged construction as its predecessors. Yet, Hero 12 possesses specs of blue on its black exterior which is a subtle reflection of the recording power inside. A tripod thread on the base of the unit is a welcome addition as it allows the camera to mount to standard camera equipment, unlocking even more limitless possibilities. A small, front facing screen enables the GoPro to be used for selfies and vlogging. USB-C charging is icing on the cake. The 27-megapixel camera can shoot at 5.3k60, 4k120, or 2.7k240. Also, the Hero 12 can record in 10-bit HDR and Log. However, framerates are cut in half when recording in HDR. 8:7 aspect ratio sensor allows for both widescreen and vertical recording, no matter the orientation of the camera. The fisheye lens has numerous Field of View settings, including a linear setting which removes the fisheye effect and a horizon lock which stabilizes the video up to 27 degrees of tilt. The fidelity and specs of the Hero 12 are impressive to say the least, especially considering its compact formfactor. In practice, the video quality is crisp and colorful no matter the recording mode. The user interface of the camera is intuitive with its familiar touchscreen. Large, tactile rubberized buttons for power/mode, and recording is a notable feature. Swiping left and right effortlessly transitions the camera from timelapse, video, and picture modes. Dragging up from the bottom exposes the gallery/media player where all locally stored videos/pictures can be viewed. Functions like basic editing, aided by the integrated speaker, can be achieved through the media player as well. Pulling down from the top of the screen reveals a familiar dropdown menu akin to modern smartphones. It is in this menu where options such as orientation lock, storage, and full settings can be accessed. Camera has 2 distinct UI modes. “Easy and Pro”. The easy mode is suitable for most use cases with 3 preset recording qualities from 1080p, 4k, and 5.3k. However, the Pro mode unlocks the full functionality and tweakability of the camera as each recording parameter can be adjusted to the heart’s content. In this mode, users can create and save recording presets for different scenarios. This camera was designed both for the adventurer who wants effortless plug-and-play action, and the experienced cinematographer who enjoys the full controls of the camera. The accessory bundle comes equipped with a carrying case, headstrap, floating hand grip, adhesive mount, and two batteries. The headstrap is comfortable, well-padded, and easy to adjust. With the action cam weighing in at only 4.5 oz it sits firmly on the wearer’s head, even for long periods of time. The floating hand grip has a large, comfortable foam handle and a flame orange end cap in case it gets dropped in the water. As an aside, the Hero 12 is waterproof up to 33 feet. The included quick release mount was simple to install and works with many GoPro accessories. If the included accessories aren’t enough, GoPro supplies many more accessories to suit almost every need. From numerous camera cases, mounts, and even a wide-angle lens, the possibilities and truly endless. Accompanying the Hero 12 is the GoPro Quik app. App connects and syncs with the GoPro during setup. It allows you to view, download, and edit GoPro footage on the fly. Upon initial setup, it enabled me to update camera firmware as well. App is easy to navigate and understand. A subscription service unlocks more premium features and perks like unlimited cloud storage, GoPro auto upload to cloud, discounts on the GoPro store, and a guaranteed camera replacement among others. Normally, am not a big fan of subscription services as nowadays core features are blocked behind paywalls. However, all core features and functionality of the GoPro and app are available for free, and the low cost of the subscription ($4.99 per month or $24.99 annually at the time of review) makes it worthwhile for those who desire the extra perks. Personally, I have used this camera and accessories to timelapse car trips and record POV videos working on my car. Have been thrilled at the ease of use of the camera and am excited for the weather to warm up to record fishing videos on my kayak! Overall, the GoPro Hero 12 is the no-compromise solution for effortless, quality clips for the true adventurer and content creator.

The GoPro 12 Black doesn’t disappoint at all. This is the second GoPro I have owned and the quality of the videos and photos just blows me away. This GoPro bundle comes with everything you need to get started recording. At about $400 bucks you get a lot. This bundle comes with a handheld holder, head strap, an extra battery, and last but not least it’s a carrying case. The setup was straightforward. The app is definitely something you need to keep your camera up to date and is loaded with a lot of information on how to use the GoPro. There is also an option to buy the subscription for additional features but I don’t think it is really needed unless you are constantly recording footage, then you would really benefit from the subscription. The GoPro has 27 megapixels, a beautiful LCD touchscreen, a digital stabilizer, and a 5k Video resolution. The touch screen is exact. You can easily change the settings. The GoPro goes above and beyond to help you maximize its capabilities, which I really liked. I accidentally bought the wrong micro SD card and GoPro did a Nice job reminding me that because you need a V30 or higher SD card for better performance. The microphone does a phenomenal job of capturing sounds and also has noise reduction. It's water resistant up to 33 ft, I didn’t try that but for 33ft that’s deep enough to get some cool pictures or videos. The camera is wrapped in like a rubbery material, feels nice to the touch. Not sure how well it will hold in case you drop it, since there is not guard around the edges of the front or back camera. For an action camera like this one, I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart once it hits the ground. I really enjoyed the quality of this GoPro. The video and pictures are so clear and crisp. Definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking to get awesome footage while doing outdoor/indoor activities.

Before I go into how great this GoPro is. The only negative for me and those who want to know issues up front. Its the first thing you deal with on this camera. The battery door is troublesome. And sadly, you will have to use it frequently. It's a pain to get open, but since the battery, SD card, and charge port are behind the door. You will need to fiddle with this nail breaking design often. Follow the pictorial card in the case, because both sides of this camera look to have a trap door. Only one side opens, careful not to pull too hard on the correct side or you could break it. Closing it is much easier. Beyond the battery door hiccup. This camera is very good for fast high quality video and surprisingly decent photos. I'm only a few video clips in and do notice my camera does get a bit warm after awhile of recording 4K. It has not quit on me yet and video is excellent. Short clips had zero noticeable temp and love the near instant on with one press of the shutter button. I had hoped to get some action with a short kayak or bike trip to see how things looked while rocking down a trail or paddling across the nearby lake. Sadly, weather dipped too cold and wet to get out this past week here in Ohio. Instead, I took it with me when a few friends and I went to Cleveland Westside Market. I never thought to use my old GoPro 5 for photos, but with 27mp photos. Gave it a try and it works well, but using the phone to remotely initialize shutter was better than pushing the weather sealed button. Overall it looks like a few options are behind the pay wall of the app, much like any affordable camera nowadays. But, with 50% off the first year ($25 in the quik app). I think there may be enough tools with editing and features to at least try it for the first year. Happy with the purchase so far. The GoPro 12 has very clean and stable video. Photo functions are also very usable to include in videos to show the story you want to share. Short of a bundle that gives a third battery. This kit is the way to go, plus it was on sale during the holidays on Best Buy. It is massive leap forward from my old GoPro 5. Menus and shortcuts can make settings pretty quick to change once initial setups are locked in. And it is much safer to fling around where my phone would likely get a cracked screen.

I was thrilled to receive my GoPro - Hero12 Action Camera Bundle. I have had two other GoPros and have really liked them and the Hero12 doesn't disappoint! The package comes with the camera itself, two batteries, a mounting stick, a travel case, and a headband. There are a TON of other accessories that are compatible with the Hero12 and it is backwards-compatible with other GoPro series cameras - a huge plus if you are looking to upgrade but still want to use the accessories you have. Setting up the GoPro is really easy - once you connect and add it to the app on your phone, you're in business. The GoPro Hero12 package does NOT come with a memory card and I purchased a newer card that my current GoPro as the speed requirements are a bit different - they suggest v30 or UHS-3 rating. The camera will tell you if the card you insert isn't sufficient - I learned that by experience. So, I purchased a v30 512gb and, aside from being really challenging to actually get it installed in the GoPro, it formatted itself and works beautifully. I use my GoPros for a variety of reasons - this one I have mounted in my vehicle sort of as a dash cam that is really easily removable if needed. I have a 4x4 Wrangler I often take on adventures and the GoPro captures video and images with spectacular clarity. I have not used the headband mount other than just trying it on and it's very comfortable once you get used to it. Overall - I would give this 10 stars if I could. Absolutely 100% recommend.

The GoPro Hero 12 Black takes action cameras to the next level. With stunning 5.3K video at 60fps, upgraded HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization, and HDR video, it’s perfect for capturing everything from extreme sports to casual adventures. The Enduro Battery impresses with longer life, and features like Bluetooth audio support and night effects add creative versatility. While the touchscreen can feel a bit laggy, and the price is steep, the Hero 12’s rugged design, incredible performance, and user-friendly features make it worth the splurge. Only drawback is the inability to connect to an external microphone without additional accessory. Verdict: A top-notch action cam for creators and adventurers alike.

As an avid adventurer and nature enthusiast, I've always sought cameras that could capture the breathtaking landscapes and awe-inspiring moments I encounter. The GoPro HERO12 has undoubtedly surpassed my expectations, proving to be an exceptional companion for my underwater escapades, coastal explorations, and mountain expeditions. My first plunge into the underwater world with the HERO12 was nothing short of mesmerizing. The camera's exceptional 5.3K resolution and enhanced Horizon Leveling effortlessly captured the vibrancy and intricate details of marine life, transforming my underwater footage into cinematic masterpieces. The HERO12's incredible HyperSmooth stabilization kept my shots steady even amidst the swirling currents, ensuring that every movement appeared fluid and graceful. Venturing along the sun-kissed shores, the HERO12's wide-angle lens perfectly framed the picturesque beachfront scenes. The camera's vivid colors and dynamic range accurately portrayed the interplay of light and shadow, capturing the essence of the tranquil coastal panorama. I was particularly impressed by the HERO12's ability to handle challenging lighting conditions, preserving the details of both sun-drenched sands and shaded beach houses. Ascending to the heights of majestic mountains, the HERO12 revealed a new dimension of natural beauty. The camera's remarkable video quality translated the vast expanse of the mountain ranges into awe-inspiring visuals, while the Horizon Leveling feature ensured that my shots remained perfectly stabilized, even when traversing uneven terrain. The HERO12's wide dynamic range captured the intricate details of both sun-drenched peaks and snow-capped summits, showcasing the mountain's grandeur in every frame. Perched atop a towering hotel overlooking the ocean, the HERO12 effortlessly captured the panoramic vistas that stretched before me. I’m new to using GoPro and found this kit of essentials to actually be essential! I added the double battery charger kit which is also essential. It is easy to start and looks like it has lots of fun options I need to explore. It is mind boggling to look back a few years and see now how the technology with such good quality is in so small and rugged of a case. I also bought the underwater housing which seems a good investment.

It delivers sharp video, clear photos, and smooth stabilization that helps reduce shakiness. It’s easy to carry, simple to use, and durable enough for everyday adventures. The waterproof housing lets you film underwater, making it great for swimming or beach trips. Battery life is decent, though having an extra battery is recommended for long sessions. Overall, it’s a solid and affordable option for anyone wanting action-camera features without paying premium prices.

The GoPro HERO12 Black steps up the flagship action-camera game by offering 5.3K video at up to 60 fps and an upgraded HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization system—delivering clearer, steadier footage even in hectic motion. Battery life sees a real improvement too, capable of around 70 minutes in its top video mode and over two hours at 1080p resolution. It supports advanced features such as 10-bit Log video and Bluetooth audio recording, making it well-suited for serious content creators. On the flip side, if you already own its predecessor you may not notice a huge visual leap, and some reviewers say the menu system feels a bit clunky compared to some rivals. Overall, it offers a strong mix of performance and functionality for adventure- or content-focused

I am amazed at how clear the video is and how easy it is to set up. There is a lot of information out there on YouTube to assist you with it. I love it came with all the accessors that were with it, especially the extra battery. The free version of the app that you download for it is also great and easy to use. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of these again alone or in a bundle like I did!

We got it with my husband for our travel adventures. It did not disappoint. We were able to capture most of our trip with exceptional detail and clarity. Very light, we had it with us all the time, and very easy to use. Very durable too. We used it at the beach, in the water, during extreme sports.
