This is an amazing camera. Absolutely incredible with the remote control, etc. It is waterproof and virtually indestructible.

I have used this camera while snorkeling in the Caribbean and attached it to a kite flown almost 1000' up (see pic). The images are very sharp and the colors are very true and vivid! Love this camera!

Purchased the 3+ Black Edition for my wife as a Christmas present. We are avid snowboarders and she used it during on annual snowboarding trip to Colorado. The video quality is awesome. Tried multiple settings and found we like the 960 setting the best. The 1080 super view is nice, but it has more "wide angle" perspective than what we like. The video was awesome from the mount on my wife's board. The first day we mounted the camera straight to the board. The second day we decided to use the 3-way mount to get the camera a little higher off the board. The camera had to be repositioned after every run. The mount would not hold the camera in place and half of the run only filmed the top of her snowboard. We only used that mount one day. The wi-fi remote and the GoPro app for our iPhones worked great to control the camera instead of having to kneel down and use the camera buttons. A suggestion -- if it is below 30 degrees and you want to use the remote or your smart phone....keep those devices in a pocket close to your body. One day the temp's on the mountain were single digit without wind chill...and my iPhone shut down because it was too cold. I have the "Life Proof" case and arm band and my iPhone lasted maybe one hour on my arm before it shut off. I put it in an inside pocket and about 15 minutes later it had warmed up and was back on. Overall my wife loves her camera and I am happy with it as well. We are looking forward to using it on many more trips.

The image quality of this camera is excellent. I have only used the video so far. The camera is so small that it can be placed or used in a great variety of places. I have used it for videos of birds at the feeders and put it in the snow with birdseed around it and the resulting videos are excellent. The angle of view is huge and there are no worries about focus or exposure. It came with a housing for underwater and bad weather use. The menu system is a bit difficult to use. You need to go through various screens (which are quite tiny) to get the settings you want. There is also a huge assortment of accessories which are mainly a la carte. Once you buy the camera, you aren't finished buying for the camera. All in all, I am very happy with the camera. There is also free downloads from GoPro for editing, etc. I plan to try it in all kinds of places and weather.

This GoPro black is what I've been looking for, all the features are pretty easy to use but need to learn and get used to. But very nice. Very good pic and movies.

I contemplated buying this camera after weeks of reviews and looking at other competitors. I finally settled on this as a backup to my Canon Rebel. Our last few weekend trips included visits to water & theme parks along with camping, and I barely used my Canon. While the quality is not as sharp as using an SLR with interchangeable lenses, the GoPro gives you more flexibility, is inconspicuous, and can deliver some pretty cool angles. Some have commented about not being able to see what you're recording. I find this to be a plus as you have more freedom to live in the moment and not behind a viewfinder. The editing software allows you to cut, splice, and edit your clips in an efficient manner, and provides some amazing results. The underwater features are great, and all of the various mounts that come with it our the perfect accessories to own. Be sure to purchase the rechargeable batteries as you'll find yourself needing spares when recording a lot of footage. My biggest recommendation is to record short clips and turn the camera off when not in use. Otherwise, buy it and have lots of fun!

As always GoPro pulls it off again. I love the picture quality and remote control that came with the Hero 3+. I replaced my original GoPro with the new Hero 3+ and it was well worth it. As always the battery life could be better but I just pick up several extra batteries off a well known online auction site for a good price - this is better and cheaper then just getting one extended battery pack.

I bought this camera with my Christmas money. My son and I have started hunting and I am going to use it to try and capture his first success. In the meantime, I have found it fun to strap it on my two boys and let them play. Sledding down a hill is fun to watch. The camera is very nice and the ability for me to watch the video real time (sort of) is too cool. The WiFi distance could be better as I don't feel it is anywhere near the range they claim. Still for me, it is adequate. I am glad I bought the one that includes the remote as it will make it easier to start and stop the recordings without messing with the camera. We will be taking it with us to Disney this summer and it should make some excellent videos.

The function upgrades from the 3 plus make this camera so much easier to use! No longer a million clicks to get to the camera function you want. The built in lcd screen takes the guess work out of framing!

This camera is a must have. It's not your daily kind of use but the videos it records is like you are looking thorough your own eyes. Its the right size and pretty much weightless. Def. buy one and take it with you for trips where you are planning to do tours. So there is no zoom or flash for obvious reasons so you have to carry your dlsr, srl or point to shoot with you. The best thing about this is that you can connect your phone with the it through wireless and see what all is being recorded or has been recorded. even to click an image you can see how it looks and click the pic from your phone. That is all done through the go pro app. It comes by default a water proof case and when they say water proff the mean water proof. i took the camera under water for 2 hours in a diving tour and completely dry. i wouldnt buy this camera if you are planning to do is just take pictures. It records videos at 4k also which is great. Remember to get a BIG sd card as 4k videos take a lot of space, the camera doesnt come with any card.

Love the quality of the pictures and the video's. It is not a real good still camera without the optional $90.- BacPaq screen. You need the screen for angling and seeing what you are recording. Also programming the camera is much easier with the screen. I find the accessories from GoPro very expensive, it pays to search online for cheaper (knock off) straps and mounting options.

So I've had this particular version of the GoPro on my mind, since I booked my vacation to Thailand back in November. It takes perfect, high-quality video and after a few minutes of getting used to it, is super user-friendly. Very easy to navigate through the device. Please be aware that the lens cover on the plastic casing seems to scratch easily. I managed to scratch it while elephant trekking in Chiang Mai. I used these for underwater footage as well! Superb!!! Do take advantage of the many accessories available, including the chest mount and head mount. Definitely came in handy during my adventures! Also, the GoPro app works beautifully. If you have an older computer, your footage may seem delayed or pixel-ly, but most likely it's your operating system. I found that out after a couple of return visits to Best Buy. Overall, great pictures and video!

I've been shooting video for over a dozen years, and it's taken me this long to break down and buy a GoPro Black3+ for myself. I have zero regrets. For the price, this camera is amazing. It's versatility and durability alone is worth the price, but the optics and options make this a camera worth its weight in gold. The remote, app, and batteries have limitations, but the limitations are minimal. Any criticism would be nitpicking because this camera really is the best AV purchase I've ever made for the price. I've already bought a few hundred dollars worth of accessories and extra batteries because I'm so excited about the possibilities. Highly recommend.

First let me say if you are trying to decide between the silver edition and black edition just buy the black edition. It will pay for itself. First, the remote is super handy however it does drain the battery down considerably more because the wi-fi must be on. The black edition will also have better low-light filming quality over the silver edition. If you are planning on using this at night then you will want the low-light ability the black edition has to offer. I primarily use this for time lapse videos as the GoPro makes it a hundred times easier than my old set up with was a DSLR, tripod, and TI-84+ calculator coded to be a time lapse controller.

The video quality is amazing! The battery does not last enough and it is not easy to go thru the menu. The remote control is very easy to use once it is connected blue tooth properly.

I am so pleased with my GoPro. I bought it mostly for scuba diving in the Caribbean and it delivered with ease of use and great video and photos. If diving, purchase underwater filters. Cheap to buy and your dive is a waste without them. Great camera!

my wife and i love this GoPro. we use it for everything, even home events. the picture quality is amazing and its great that we can use it in outdoor/beach settings without worry of it getting damaged from dirt/sand or even impact from the kids.

I think that the go Pro hero 3+ black edition is much better on battery life then the go Pro hero black. I think that is one of the biggest advantages for the 3+ is that it does last a lot longer. Also the quality for the video and four pictures are really pretty good for such a small little camera.

I got this for my family trip to the beach. I didn't feel like bringing a larger camera or a nice DSLR because of the sand. This worked perfectly. I love the fact that i could give it to my kids and they shot their own footage as well as my wife could see what they're shooting from her phone as she stayed on the beach while they were in the water. The GoPro App was amazing and made the set up so easy with changing features from 120fps to 24fps or anything else in between. Taking pictures with it was also just incredibly simple. The picture quality turned out amazing on them. I've used it a lot since then because of it's size and simplicity of it.

I have taken this everywhere with me. From fishing in the Gulf to the summit of Mt. Mckinley. I have been very happy with the camera. I would recommend buying several back-up batteries, especially if you plan on taking lots of videos and will not be able to recharge every night.
