Takes great video of me riding my mountain bike. Only gripe is the poor audio compared to previous models. Easy to use and works great with gopro apps on your phone.

My family and I are taking a trip overseas soon, and we wanted a waterproof camera that could film action footage. When I got the camera and the accessories, I attached it to the top of my son's bicycle helmet and let him ride around recording footage. It turned out wonderful. I know it is going to do well overseas!!!

The GoPro Hero5 Black is a great action camera that does everything it claims to do! That said it drains the battery a lot faster than I thought it would and it gets very hot around the lens. Some user reviews mentioned this issue while others didn’t. I thought the reviews that did mention it were being overly sensitive. It’s an electronic device so it’s going to get a little warm right? Well it gets hot not just warm. So I contacted GoPro's tech support. They gave great customer service but my experience was a little confusing. The tech confirmed I was using a memory card recommended by GoPro (which I am). Then he had me take the battery out then put it back in and do a complete reset. He also made sure the camera had the latest software (which it did). I turned the camera back on and in a few minutes it was hot again. After we went through all of these steps the tech finally told me it is normal for the camera to get hot around the lens. I asked why he had me go through all of those steps if what I was experiencing was normal. He said it was protocol. The tech offered to send me a replacement camera if it would make me feel better. Since its normal for the camera to get hot I decided to keep the one I had. I haven’t taken my GoPro Hero5 Black on a trip yet. I plan to use it scuba diving, snowboarding and while I explore new places. I have used it around town and at home and it works as intended. I’ll update if I experience any issues.

Great action camera that can be used for trips or adventure sports. great for use in water as long as you don't dive too deep with it ! 4 modes of still pics from very wide to regular and the touch screen is very efficient, would recommend purchasing a additional battery

I don't know why I have not got a GoPro I the past. Easy to use, water proof and durable. Battery life isn't as bad as people say. I've got some good time skating with it and ended the day with 40 percent. Sound quality is good. Video quality is beyond amazing.

Finally made the decision to purchase a Gopro after wanting one for a while. I felt that the Hero 5 had all the features to make it a good purchase. 4K recording, touch screen, voice control, water proof without needing a case. I'm happy about my purchase.

I bought this camera camera to record memorable events with my family and we've all enjoyed it, especially in the summer time at the river or in the pool! The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't upload or save any videos that were shot in 4k if they were any longer than 8.5 minutes so I basically lost a lot of footage before I called GoPro customer service and they explained to me that I wasn't able to upload or save the footage in 4K due to a memory issue so I've been recording longer video's in 1080p and I've really been enjoying it.

I have had multiple GoPros including the Hero 2, Hero 3+ Silver, Hero Session, and now this camera. I use them for everything from circle track racing to offroad racing and play time in a Polaris RZR. The camera overall feels good and looks good, the video is great. My only real complaint is the battery life. I have bought this camera for the replaceable batteries and it needs it. After a very short race I was at 68% of battery life. I disabled the wireless connections on the next run and still found myself in the 70% range. I would like to see GoPro increase battery size. I'm not a big fan of the doors they have a push button and then slide to maintain the integrity of waterproof seal, I much prefer the Hero Session door, also the doors are not accessible while in the mounting cage which is a pain. The touch screen is great once I got used to it, if you're mounting in a challenging place be sure to lock the screen before mounting it to avoid changing a setting. It uses USB-C to charge and connect which I was impressed with, if you haven't bought a USB-C to SD Card reader from GoPro it will cut your upload times to 1/10 of the time. Overall it's a great product other than some bad experiences with Best Buy getting it in my hands. Didn't ship when it was supposed to and had to buy a second one in store to have one before the race.

This is perfect for taking great outdoor photos and videos. It fits super well in my pocket when I go hiking. I love the built in waterproofing. Overall, it's a quality action camera and a big upgrade from my older Sony action cam.

The fact that it has 1 button start and waterproof to 33 feet is great. It is smaller and I took it diving to 170 feet with the dive case and got great video and shots. I have the 3 and 3+ GoPro cameras also, but I like the 5 so much better.

I bought this gopro for my summer vacations. beautiful camera picture, light, and fairly easy to use. The only bad con is the price. I wish I did more extreme thing but its handy when I need a camera where I don't want to take my phone.
