One noticeable difference is the wifi speed when viewing on a mobile device. With some older versions there would be a second or more delay from the GoPro to the mobile device, but the hero 5 is almost real time. The thought screen is really nice but I think that the menus are sometimes a little tough to navigate because it's such a small screen, I don't really let that bother me because it's so simple to connect tablet or phone to it navigating the menus on the mobile is very fast and easy to change. One point I should mention it this GoPro has a new charge port so your normal USB charge cable will not work, I would suggest buying a few extra charge cables, also I really like this case but I am so used to the older versions and the strength of the older waterproof cases. One of the best things they did was make the lens cover easily replaceable. So I suggest buying the extra case as well to have that extra piece of mind.... love my GoPro hero 5 if you are trying to decide between the 4 or 5 get the 5!

Bought this for our trip to Hawaii, and boy were we impressed. A great iPhone shot is one thing, but this GoPro video had great audio, stunning video, awesome stability, and it was waterproof, so we were able to get videos of fishies and turtles and everything! It really feels like you're making mini movies with this.

I own a Gopro Hero3+ and I though it was nice but compared to the Hero5, its the dark ages. Stop by Best Buy and pick up a Hero5, & you won't be disappointed!

I bought this camera about a month ago and have used it numerous times on my bike, kayak and paddle board. It takes great videos and pictures, is very easy to upload to my iPad or iPhone, and the GoPro and Quik apps are awesome. The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars was that the camera freezes a bit when trying to upload and the voice recognition range feels limited. Otherwise, I couldn't recommend this product more.

Amazing GoPro. Upgraded from the 3 silver. Must say not having a case is pretty awesome especially for underwater photography or any humid areas (no fogging!) And very easy to use interface. Voice control doesn't alwayd work perfectly but it definitely is a step towards the right direction with this product.

Amazing picture quality that perfectly meshes with Sony 4k tv to view. Much better than session with regards to setup and ease of use because you can actually see what you are doing much like a traditional camera. Very recommended for beginner to action cameras and with quality a pro could definitely use as well.

I have the go pro hero 3 black and had some breakdown issues so I was hesitant on buying another. I went with the 5 black version. The bike is sturdy and love that the camera can go underwater without the housing. The touch screen is awesome along with the setup features. Love this camera

I owned the hero 4 black prior from purchasing the new Hero 5 and I can honestly say it was worth upgrading. The fact that you no longer require a housing to protect the camera from water. Helps not only the audio but the picture. The voice command features are also great to have while recording on the go.

Amazing product.. good for any kind of vacation.. must for a road trip or hiking or underwater adventure

Bought the Hero 5 Black the week before I went on Scuba diving trip so I didn't have much time to get familiar with it. It was very easy to use and not a burden to carry between times of shooting video. The quality of the video was amazing when I reviewed it later. Would definitely recommend this camera.

I've had a few of the gopros throughout the years. They definitely get better each time. This one is the best yet. The voice command and touch screen are awesome. The quality of photos and videos are unreal. I love that you c and see what you are recording/just recorded. Everything about it is awesome.

I love this product. The only reason i did not give it a 5 is that i have to reconnect every time i want to view on my phone. I would like it to have an option to stay connected.

It's a great camera for my needs. Let me capture lives important moments. I am able to use it when I am on my paddleboard or kayak. I especially like using it when I am on my JetSki. It is great for going fast and capturing all everything and not having to stop and take out my phone to take pictures.
