Screen on the back makes settings changes much easier. Time lapse features are great. Exporting stills from video is straight forward with the new software. Granted I'm upgrading from a Hero 2, but what a huge difference!

All the things of Gopro5 are good and available. But there is a defect, the battery obviously was damaged. It's difficult to put the battery into the battery bay.

Totally worth the money! What surprised me was how easy it is to use the camera. The voice controls make it super convenient when first getting use to it, but the buttons work just as well for navigating. It’s really fun editing the videos which I do so on my phone using the various GoPro apps that are free. I have made about 10 videos now and I enjoy rewatching them as I relive my past adventures. You won’t regret getting a GoPro especially now that the prices are dropping. I would definitely get a GoPro that can be submerged in water without the need of adding an additional case as that would be super annoying to deal with! As for the 4K aspect, I rarely shoot 4K cause it drains the battery quickly, but a portable charger will fix that issue. I find that the 1080p footage is honestly beautiful and sometimes it’s tough to tell the difference which one I’m shooting in. That’s basically the main difference between the Hero 5 Black and the Hero 6 so if that’s a deciding factor, then I would go with the cheaper option being the Hero 5 Black.

Purchased this camera before a trip to Europe. Loved that the size was so light and easy to pack compared to my dslr camera. The shots we're great! For such a small camera it gets really wide angles! Super easy to use. Love the review screen to see what your recording as your doing it. Waterproofness came in handy as the rain hit us quite a lot in Ireland. Battery charges quick. Took about 30 minutes to go from 1% to 100% on the first charge. Battery lasts about 2 hours when recording consistently. Reccomend getting a second battery pack for long days out. Now that I've made this purchase I look at the world a little differently wondering, what movie could I make out of every experience?What angle would be best to capture this moment? It's been quite fun and look forward to our maybe new adventures together! Thanks GoPro!

I have wanted a GoPro since they first came out and I am so glad I waited for this model! It's the biggest change since out of the first four models. It's waterproof right out of the box. It records 4K video and has stablization. The settings for video formats are great. There are many options. The touch screen on the back is nice being able to see what you've recorded and what you're filming unlike the session models. Sometimes it's a bit unresponsive but I just give it a moment. I think the sound quality is bad honestly. I know it's an action cam and maybe most people won't even use the sound and just overlay music but I like taking this with me to festivals or on trips because it's tiny and discrete. I'm not shoving a giant DSLR in someone's face. I had to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to use a dremmel tool on the casing that comes with the GoPro to reveal all the microphones or else it'll sound like you're scuba diving. I took this with me to Groundhog's Day celebration and put it on iceinmyrice youtube channel. If I could get a mini external mic for this I would but otherwize, I recommend the HERO 5.

Nice that new system does not need waterproof housing. Smaller in my pocket. Super clear focus as expected. Awsome Video. But in Hawaii, I took it out for some body surfing - shore-break on the sand. Got some great pics and video. Also got pounded a few times. Camera worked great. Did not leak. But SAND stuck in ever small little crevice. When I opened to battery door, sand up against the gasket which I had to carefully clean. Probably no way to avoid this. I immediately purchase the waterproof housing. I'm off to the snow next. That should not be a problem. =============== Update: I took the camera on a Kauai Marathon run. I constantly turned it on-off-on-off using the shutter battery save feature as I clicked short video along the way. For some reason it killed my SanDisk SD card 64. (Not sure why) Maybe SD Card Problem. But before I hit the snow this year I immediately upgraded to the GoPro 6. This works every better... both are great cameras!

I really bought this thing so I could take underwater pictures and was happy that I didn't need a separate case as the unit itself is waterproof. The battery life could be longer but if you turn off Wi-fi and Bluetooth, the battery lasts way longer than if you had them on (reducing the unit's functionality of course). I recently bought an aftermarket chest harness and took video of me biking and playing tennis. The resolution of the pictures/videos is outstanding and even the underwater pictures come out crystal clear.

I love this GoPro! Pros: - Great photos! - Hands-free (with voice commands) - Can go in water without case (up to 30 ft) - Touch screen - Ease of use (settings are easy to change) Cons: - My biggest peeve about this GoPro is the battery life. It only lasts around and a little over an hour when shooting video. It lasts longer just using it to take photos. I would recommend investing in another battery if you purchase this GoPro.

Great little camera. Took a trip to Japan and this little baby went everywhere. Plenty of battery life as long as you turn it off when you aren't using it. Captured a lot of great photos and video. The built in voice control is also awesome. Of course I bought this a month before they came out with the new model but I'm happy with this one. Don't need 4K60 when a lot of things cant even process 4K30 yet. Everyone knows GoPro is pretty legit and I like the fact that you don't need the separate case for going underwater. All features and functions work just as advertised.
