This is an upgrade from a previous one I had. It has amazing quality and would recommend it. Easy to use.

Finally they include a built in screen and still the best out there. Just wish it recorded in 4K in 60 frames vs 30 but still a great cam and love that it's water proof without a case

Getting rid of housing significantly reduced noise when mounted on my ski backpack chest strap (Polar Pro). Battery life is fairly good as compared to my old GoPro 3. But, 2 batteries would not last whole day in cold winter day. Having back screen is totally awesome and built-in stabilizer seems to work pretty decent as I see less vibration on my video chasing down my kids while skiing. I am carrying my GoPro 5 to every trip now!!..

I bought this camera for my husband. He loved it. Easy to use also it makes great video and picture.

Only concern is battery life. Purchase additional batteries if planning on getting more than 15 minutes worth of video. Great that it's already waterproof. Wifi functionality is great.

My opinion on this camera is that it has great quality and it is easy to use and great for underwater.

great product, easy to use touch screen. overall happy with this. The only downer is the battery life, keep a car charger, or portable power back w ya, you get a few hours max.

This is a great camera and I'd like to think that this is a bang for your buck as of now (01/2019) I had bought this before knowing that GoPro was losing money. The price on this significantly dropped afterwards and I was bummed. But overall, I wouldn't even recommend looking at the HERO6 and on because the price jump is pretty high. The only thing this camera 'lacks', from what I hear and I'm not really to bothered about this, is the stabilization. It's not too bad unless you're taking it out for a swim or you're biking. I'm using the HERO5 more casually aka traveling or hiking.

Very easy to operate, takes excellent video. Just about foolproof. So much better then previous models.

Water proof and battery like North pole in South pole. Extremely uncomfortable , I can't imagine myself on the slope in aspen with gloves changing weak batteries, they are weak

Its not much different than the gopro 6. If youre really into framerate, then get the 6, but if you're okay with basic frame rates, this is perfect and $100 cheaper. They both use the same components so you can upgrade and not worry about the hassle of buying new accessories.

I previously had the Hero2 . I am a bass fisherman and like recording the moment the fish comes out of the water. Also when I am fishing alone and catch a nice fish I want to take a photo before releasing the fish. With the Hero 5 Black it is very easy to catch that moment when my fish leaps out of the water and taking a photo is as simple as saying "GoPro take photo" The voice command feature was the most important feature for my upgrade.

Small light rugged waterproof takes great HD movies and photographs. Great color photographs,!!!!!!!

Waited to buy my first GoPro and glad I did. Waterproof without all the cumbersome cases and back doors. I use it for a dash cam, auto security cam and many other uses I never was able to do with just my old camcorder.
