I bought this for gift for a friend. He uses it often on his outdoorsy activities. He use to use his old phone to record things and had a hard time trying to tell what was going on in the videos. But now that he has had this, I get some great videos and see everything he's recording. Mostly things like RC planes and helis where you need a good camera.

Bought this camera for my 17 year old daughter before we went on vacation in Cabo. She captured a lifetime of memories and had more fun with this camera. Camera footage looked professional ! Such a cool and easy to operate camera. Having this camera before vacation.... actually made the trip even better ! We were in Cabo over a month ago and still watch the footage from the trip !

I purchased for my husband after returning a dash cam (the installation seemed too complicated) and just used a go pro mount on his dashboard and it works perfectly as a dash cam and now we have the option to use the cameras elsewhere too. i was just so worried that a dash cam would attract people to break into the car so with his go pro he just takes it out when he's not driving.

The video quality is good but you need to have multiple batteries in order to keep recording or an external power source. It only last for 1 hour.

My last hero I had to buy the LCD screen for the back which also consumed battery life. this camera has it all built in! And the new remote with voice controlled options is great for filming on my motorcycle. I am more than happy with the upgrade and can't see any reason someone won't like having this camera!!! I might pick up the new session as well for my shop. Great stuff GoPro!!!

You really can't go wrong with a GoPro, especially this one!! My only complaint is that when you are using it in wet conditions (ex. at the beach), there is a lag on the touch screen when trying to navigate through settings. Other than that, it works perfectly, picture quality is great and video AND audio is excellent. I would recommend buying a large capacity micro sd card.

First time owning a GP camera. Bought it to take underwater footage of our scuba diving vacation. The camera takes outstanding underwater video as well as great still photos, both on land & underwater. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of an owner's manual with the camera. For those of us who are less tech-savvy, it would be nice to have a manual to study. The camera has so many features that it's difficult for less tech-savvy folks like me to figure out all the features by trial & error.

Overall, the GoPro hero 5 Black is an awesome everyday use camera. I utilized its feautures on a recent vacation to Florida and all the shots turned out beautiful. My only gripe with the GoPro is the stabilization. The highest resolution that’s available for the digital stabilization is 1080p 60fps, which is great, but stabilization for simply walking was a bit choppy. With that being said however the camera is extremely versatile in utilization and I thoroughly enjoyed the user interface including the voice commands. Overall, I rate it 4.5/5.

I love this camera! I almost bought the Hero 4 Black, but held out for the release of the Hero 5, and I am glad that I did. Loving the housing imrpovements! I plan to break this camera in properly this upcoming weekend during an obstacle course race, and again the following weekend for my very first Spartan Race. I love the voice command features on it, and it is very simple to operate.

MicroSD chips allow for saving videos and pictures without having to download nightly. Built-in screen allows easy framing and setup. Voice command makes operation easy
