First time purchasing an "action camera" and did so after researching the options after a week or so. I'm glad I bought the Hero 5 Black. The touch screen is easy to use and it takes great pictures. I haven't used the voice commands yet, because I don't need to. However the little extra features that come with the Hero Black versus the base camera are nice to have.

With several other ActionCam companies out of Asia debuting GoPro knockoffs every week, the American company had to take a major step forward with their flagship video camera. GoPro does make solid strides with the Hero5, but not enough IMO to create any significant distance from their competitors. The Hero5 does deliver a quality image, but is it worth the cost?

This is a fun device to mess around with and super easy to use. The fact that it is ready to go into the water without a housing is perfect. WiFi works well to pair with your phone across the room and view shots (minor lag, but expected). Four stars because of the cost of all the accessories GoPro has that are not necessary, but very useful to have around.

Everything about this camera is great. The video quality is just as good as the photos you take with this camera. It is very easy to use and there is plenty of videos online to show anything you want to know about the Go Pro Hero 5.

I didn't really understand the need for one of these things when we all have cameras within our smart phones.. but after purchasing this for my boyfriend as a gift I completely get it now! The picture first of all is stunning! But aside from that it's addicting to use! He attaches it to his helmet while riding moto! We have taken it to water parks because it's water proof! He flies helicopters and has caught some breathtaking shots from the sky! All of this can be done by voice control too! It's just an incredible little thing!!

This was our first GoPro. We purchased for a trip to the Caribbean and it surpassed our expectations. Great picture quality, compact design, easy to manipulate touch screen while snorkeling (once you got it out of the water).

I purchased a GoPro only because BestBuy has the best return policy. I decided my new lens for my canon camera was not going to be used much so why not give a GoPro a try. I took the hero5black simply because it has a screen on the back and that’s what I’m most comfortable with. Once I started using the GoPro I knew I would be a GoPro user for a long time. Since I am a travel agent and I travel very frequently with groups and alone I wanted something that could handle record continuously and not be a distraction or burden to carry and GoPro fits that. Now I can take lots of great video for my clients to see. It was easy to setup and start using immediately. He files easily transfer to my iPhone and Mac. And the Quik app makes some awesome videos.

The quality is amazing, easy menu. Voice command is very accurate. Night photos are amazing. It's great you can go underwater without case.

Superb for action video, especially recorded and displayed in 4K. Excellent in strong and dim late, although resolution drops off sharply. Unfortunately has poor battery life and the user interfaces - on the camera or using the iPhone app - are far from friendly.

I purchased this for a trip to Costa Rica and it worked as advertised. The sound and video are amazingly clear. My only complaint is that the Bluetooth connect to your phone kills the battery in a fraction of the time.

I purchased this for a music festival, and only wish I had done so a week in advance to get accustomed to its UI and features. It films flawlessly so far. I can only imagine it's uses for more concerts and festivals. Small enough to drop in a pocked and capture personal moments, or with all its accessories, and number of varied videography needs. Voice activation has already proven handy. Being waterproof on its own is a grand addition. I can't wait to become even more accustomed to its myriad features and uses. 10/10

This was my first Gopro (first camera all together besides cell phone) and it is so easy to use. The setup, downloading photos/videos to laptop, and changing the accessories are all very easy. The quality of picture is surreal. I definitely recommend the hero 5 because of the display. I like to see everything! The lids for the battery and charger are tough to get into. This is because this Gopro is now waterproof up to 20 something feet deep without a waterproof case. Yon won't be disappointed with this Gopro

The GoPro Hero 5 is the best yet. Phenomenal image quality. I love the simplicity of the design, as well as ease of use. Touch screen is always a plus is the modern world of today, and it comes in quite handy with this tiny yet powerful camera. The sound quality updates in video mode are very helpful and unique. Also nice that it comes in black, much sleeker style and very appealing.

All around incredible action camera. Voice controlls work way better than expected and I use them more than I thought I would. Also the sound quality when taking videos is amazing. 10/10 would buy again.

Well before to purchase I read reviews and blogs about Hero4 and Hero5. Both are 4K. The first thing I notice is battery loose charge easy and fast, higer resolution faster battery expires. You may get a Hero4 with basic acsesories for about $450. The Hero5 for about $400 this camera is already water proof, but does not comes with housing, so Lens can be scratch easy, or fingerprints, of course you can get the housing for Hero5 for $50, so why not include the housing and charge the $450... Camera fells solid and strong, not too many acsesories are available. Users frieds recommends me Hero5... I'm in my 40's and of course I dont perform skating, or extreme sports, so I just give 4 stars and lets see.....

My daughter received this has a gift from Santa. It is extremely easy to use and the perfect size. She has taken video while riding her bike and at the park. We uploaded the video to her phone and the clarity was amazing. The video was sharp and not staticky. I could not believe how amazing the video quality was on this. I would recommend this to anyone that asks. It is worth the money. I want to buy one for me next year.

The new go pro 5 is so much more than it's predecessor, in most scenarios a water proof case is not required so audio is improved where you no longer have to have volume at max in order to hear playback, the dual microphones is great since it detects wind noise and transfers to rear microphone to eliminates wind noise. We just took ours skiing and the picture quality was excellent, sound was excellent. Nothing negative could be said about the Go Pro 5.

I bought a GoPro 3 and then a Sliver 4. The picture quality greatly improved from 3 to 4. And it is event a bit more brilliant with the 5. But the other features are killer. The camera is already built into a housing to keep it water proof. You have a bigger wider shot. And it is all touch screen and voice command. But one of the best features is the stable shot. You need to try that it is really cool. Bought two of these and am staying busy with them.

My GoPro is very easy to use and comes with voice command, which came handy when I wanted to take selfies while floating through the underground rivers of the Riviera Maya region. Takes awesome pictures during the day when there is natural lighting. It’s easy to clean and water stays out. I would recommend others to bring this on their next scenic adventure; it’s lightweight and easy to find accessories to free up your hands.
