The best camera great picture in motion ,water proof and great size to use for all family members, easy .

Camera seems to work wonderfully, but I have some complaints. My instruction manual was only in spanish and another language, no english. So I had to look up the instructions online for how to take off the case (first GoPro). Along the way I tried to take the charging door off, and it snapped in the process! GoPro sells this as a replacement part, but its $20. I learned how to take the door off from a YouTube video, and followed the steps but it still snapped. This was probably my fault for not being careful enough, but I shouldn't have to worry about accidentally breaking my charging door off depending on which way I pull it off (especially when the camera as a whole is pretty darn strong). The charging cable is just a teeny 2-3 ft USB cable. Not the end of the world since you can just buy a longer USB cable for cheap, but its still an added expense. Another frustration is that their software can't be installed on Mac OSX < 10.10. I have 10.9.5... This is my fault for not checking, but NO other software I own or buy nowadays has this restriction as I only bought this iMac 2 or 3 years ago. I use Adobe Premier and After Effects, but I would have liked to have a Quik software to process videos straight from GoPro (pun totally intended).

I tried the hero session and session 5 before this and they are nice but the GP 5 Black has many more functional features, including a removable battery. The screen on the back works well, but tried a screen protector and it was difficult to use. Took off the screen protector and all was good. Only real issue is the pc software that is downloaded. It works sometimes but mostly I've resorted to a 3rd party that's flawless. The price is a little much but the fact I can take it in the pool without an extra casing is convenient. Took the hero session in the ocean with no issues. Great brand and worth the cost...mostly, it's still expensive

Best purchase I've ever made. Great quality photos and videos. Would recommend it to anyone only downfall would be battery life. Purchased an extra battery for traveling purposes.

I bought this camera specifically for a 10 day vacation to Hawaii. I used it constantly to capture everything from the ride to the airport, take-off and landing, driving around the island, and every sunrise and sunset. We took it zip-lining in though the rain forest, and out in the ocean paddle boarding. at first I was apprehensive because it doesn't appear to be very tough, but truth be told - This is a solid camera with great features. Awesome for capturing motion and up close stills. We were also taking pictures and videos with our iPhone's and after putting them all together its obvious which ones came from the Hero. Pun intended.

Video is amazing and audio is much better than what I expected. So clear and easy to use. Delete right on the camera - edit right on the camera. Amazing product and a great buy.

This was my first GoPro purchase. I had purchased a clone camera but was very disappointed. This camera has all the features I needed and more so. Waterproof without an additional case is great for snorkeling as I can pick up sounds underwater. Voice control makes operation quick and easy and the picture and sound quality is excellent. Add in stabilization, several capture options and good battery life and this is "the" camera to get.

I purchased my GoPro to use in a different way. I have a good friend who has MS and now must live in a nursing home at 55 years old. So that she can still feel that she's part of our activities and part of life we bought the GoPro. I often use the chest harness so that when we go on outings such as kayaking, biking, walks in the forest she can come alongin a way as if she's been there. It's been a great asset to her life, and we greatly enjoyed being able to bring her with us in this way.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas before a Holiday Trip to Mexico - saved all our memories and enjoy looking at the views! Easy to operate and amazing quality

I love my GoPro. It is still going, despite being an older model. I will eventually buy another one, newer model.

The new GoPro hero 5 is amazing. Not only is the quality top notch but all of the options are amazing. Voice commands removable battery and water proof without a case for 33 feet. It's a must have for everyone that enjoys being active.

Camera has crystal clear picture! The sound has cut in and out multiple times. Easy to use. Waterproof. Battery lasts only 1-2 hrs. Nice camera, fun apps to edit videos.

I will get the bad stuff out of the way first. The battery for this camera is awful. I fully charged 2 batteries 2 days before going on a snorkeling trip and when I start to get in the water both batteries were dead. ?? (2) Retrieving media was a lot more complex than advertised. The software would download photos without issue but required considerable effort to retrieve video. I finally had to pull the memory card and use a card reader to retrieve video. With the negative out of the way, this is a great little device..Beautiful shots with fabulous resolution. Fun to use and versatile for any situation.

This was purchased for our family vacation and was super easy to use and took amazing footage while snorkeling, swimming and sight seeing! We love this GoPro camera!!

This is my first GoPro purchase and it has met and exceeded my expectations. Not only did we get this item for ourselves but also to take videos of our kids while doing various things. It it small (obviously!) and light weight and easy to use. We also purchased an accessory pack and with that have been able to mount the GoPro almost anywhere. The video quality is great. Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed.

First off, let me say that I have owned every GoPro camera that has been made. From the antiquated original GoPro SD, moving on to the first Hero HD, then the Hero2, the Hero3, then the Hero3+, then the Hero4, and now the Hero5. I cannot say enough good things about the Hero5. Excellent picture quality, beautiful 4k video, stabilization, voice commands, waterproof up to 33 feet out of the box, and more features galore. One thing that some people are not aware of is that with GPS mode on, the Hero5 is recording all data, with that being said, when you edit the video in Quik (GoPro software), you can place the GPS information overlaid on the video. GPS information like the speed, direction, etc. CONS: Although the Hero5 is a great action camera and the fact that it is waterproof out of the box up to 33 feet is crazy cool BUT one thing that does bother me is that in order to take the Hero5 diving to depths up to 196 feet (I am a certified diver), you have to place the Hero5 into a case that you buy individually. I don't have an issue buying the case BUT (once again) in order for the Hero5 to be placed inside the case, you have to take off the front waterproof lens, which if the case accidentally gets flooded, your camera will suffer damage and quite possibly be destroyed. Why make a case that you can not just drop your Hero5 in just like you could with all the others ? Anyways, besides that major con, for divers mainly, this is a great camera.

The Hero5 is a great upgrade from my Hero3. It has a built in touch viewing screen and is much easier to use compared to the Hero3. The voice command function is especially useful while having the Hero5 mounted to the top of my motorcycle helmet. Just wish the Hero5 would have fit into my scuba water proof housing that I use with the Hero3. The Hero5 is waterproof to 33 ft.

I love that the new Hero 5 Black now has an integrated display, and that it is water proof - so now I can take it on a snorkeling trip without needing a case, which in turn prevents case fogging, and improves sound quality. I have not really used the voice commands but its a nice add on. I like the new, slimmer look, and it's cheaper than the Hero 4 I bought a year ago. You can't go wrong with that.
