The GoPro Hero5 black's new design is great. No more bulky waterproof housing that needs to be attached anymore. The whole unit is waterproof. Image quality is awesome with the option to change resolution and frame speed if needed. Battery cover and USB/HDMI access doors are a little tough to open, but that ensures me that the unit is waterproof. Mounts easy to my action cam bike attachments (computer mount, rear seat mount), and it doesn't look like I'm going to ride in the ocean with an underwater camera. Touch screen is a plus and menus are easy to navigate.

I purchased this camera to document some trips I will be taking on the mororcycle over the next year. I found the correct mounts from RAM Mounts to attach the camera securely to a motorcycle. It is a learning process to get what you need but with some practice and reviewing the online manual I believe this will do what I have intended. First it records very good video. The video is easy to transfer to a computer. I discovered initially it has a poor battery life but after disableing Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth I got the battery life up to about an hour. The next discovery was the recording of sound can only be conducted below 25 mph on a motorcycle. The wind noise overrides voice at higher speeds. So the next step is to aquire the cables and plugs so I will have power connected at all times to not worry about the battery going dead and next to hook up an external mic to capture narration at higher speeds. The quality of the camera is great and I beleive it will do the task I purchased it for. It is not as user friendly as I would have hoped, but I am a senior and not used to a lot of technology. I was a little disappointed with the short battery life but should be able to work around that with external power. It takes some time and practice to learn the features and to be sure you are recording what you are intending to record.

Great quality and easy to use. I like being able to view the pictures on the screen like a digital camera.

The camera is easy to use and provides good sound and video. It also seems pretty sturdy as it has been bumped around a little bit and shows no scars.

This camera was a replacement for one that was lost. We loved using the previous one so we just repurchased it. Great picture quality and easy to use.

I own a GoPro 3 blk and found it a little complicated to operate. GoPro hit the mark with this version. Much easier to operate with and without the app. The verbal cammand option is excellent. Battery power is better and the live video options in the app are much better. The touch screen is very good the menus are much more intuative. Having the livevideo screen on the camera now is a bonus.

The Hero 5 black is my first action camera. The lower price is what inspired me to finally purchase one. The newer features that stand out are: water proof with no case, voice control, and digital video stabilization. The biggest weakness I have found is low light footage. Second negative is terrible battery life. Expect less than an hour of video recording. Similar cameras can achieve closer to 2 hours so I'm not sure why GoPro can't make theirs better.

This camera was very easy to get setup and use. Only downside is the battery runs out pretty quickly so we bought a backup. We've loved it so far.

All my travel footage came out great with this camera! Sometimes the buttons are a bit tricky. It comes with voice command so you can program it to take a picture or video just with your voice. Like “Siri.” I love that’s its waterproof! No extra housing needed so it won’t fog up the lens. And my videos were not shaking thanks to the built in stabilization.

Works great just as advertised! I do have to say that it's not that great looking on its small touchscreen display it has but once you view your video/photo off the camera and on a computer or tv it much better looking. Just thought I should throw that out there cause it does do a great job at capturing at high frame rates. Also make sure you get a high quality memory card if your shooting 4k so it won't take hours on saving it and you get enough storage since file size on 4k become very large depending on how long you record for.

Its takes a while to get the idea how it works, but after working with it for a while it is very easy to use and takes very good pictures.

Got this for my 14 year old daughter and she had a great time taking pics and videos. Very easy to use and takes high quality pictures.

I own the hero 4 silver and I wanted another action cam that was just as small and shot well, now the issue was that all the other cameras from China etc that were great in their own right wouldn't go well when you're editing footage from other cameras as well which this go pro provided for me. It's simple to use great options and a nice upgrade from the 4. Go pro built a quality product no complaints from me except that the image stabilization is not what it's hyped up to be but needless to say that's what stabilizers are made for.

We purchase this mainly for our son to use when he is swimming indoors, he loves it. It's so easy to use, the quality is amazing!

I currently own the GoPro Hero 4 Black and the Hero 5 camera is a definite upgrade of features and abilities. With my Hero 4 I had to by an additional LCD screen to get the same functionality that the Hero 5 has. The Hero 4 requires a water proof housing if you want to put it in the water, the Hero 5 is water proof without any additional housing or cages. The Hero 5 is small and very easy to navigate between the functions and options for your specific needs. Navigating the LCD was a bit of a chore at first, but a firmware update addressed that. The quality of the 4k is really good for a camera of this size and it packs the right features for what I want. The timelapse video function works really well, as does the night lapse functions. Another thing that I like is the fact that the Hero 5 will take images in RAW format. This gives me the ability to use my post production tools to develop those images further. I just wish that the RAW option was available for all the cameras photo image options. There are many choices on the market for small action cams, but I think that GoPro has established a good reputation for building quality products and addressing issues they discover with their previous versions.

The camera takes pictures and videos in 4k quality. The audio is very good and the unit operates manually or by voice commands. No shaky picture or video as this is a quality camera. Only issue is the camera is hard to remove from its shell and the battery compartment is also very tight. Probably because it can be used underwater.

This is so awesome for family pictures and videos, easy to take anywhere no case needed for waterproof. Easy to use even hands free with app option. We wouldn't be without this
