Despite its realease time, this is one of the best go pros of all time. Bought it on 2021 and been recording off road videos, driving videos or day to day videos easily. I would recommend this camera for non professionals, but for people who just want to have fun

It was a gift for my husband and he loved it. The size is perfect for traveling and carrying it around. He loves wearing it with the head strap I also got him. It was easy to set up and figure out. Videos and pictures turned out perfect.

I bought this device to use as a 4k video recording device for my quadcopter drones. I've used it for so much more since then. This camera is waterproof up to 10ft, I think, I haven't tested that just yet but have had it in a pool. The video quality and stabilization are top notch.

The size and durability are a big plus for active shots and video. Very clean colors and stabalization. Time lapse feature works well. Big variety of accessories. The picture is great. There is nothing I do not like about this camera, and you can take pics and video underwater.

I was a Sony Action Cam guy - rebelling against all my buddies who used GoPro cameras. Finally caved-in after finding my Race Technolgy data acquisition system can automatically sync video to data. I love that it's a quick press of the button to start Recording and pressing the same button at the end of my race session turns the camera OFF saving battery life. It also has voice control - I can tell it to start Recording or to turn OFF. With so much going on before a race session starts, I like simple! Dislike the the 4GB chunks for a longer video... I have software to "stitch" it together - BUT - one of my GoPro buddies reminded me that it is for file integrity safety - you won't loose the whole video, just segements if there are any issues with your MicroSD card. Must say that I'm a fan now...

I’ve had this little guy now for about two years. It’s been so reliable. Did have to purchase new batteries about a year ago. Dropped a lot and from high areas. Durable. No problems with updating by software still as well.

Great Camera - Battery Door is Tricky

I am already the owner of a Hero7 Gray, but I wanted the ability to switch out the battery and have a waterproof camera. The battery compartment is a little tricky to use. When I was switching out the battery, the door came off. I was able to figure out how to re-attach it and was pleasantly surprised that the snafu didn't damage the waterproof capabilities of the camera. The camera takes great photos, but the interface always takes me some time to get used to it. There are only two buttons on the camera and a lot of the features are accessed through the touch screen. I would purchase this again even with the fact that opening and closing the battery door is a little tricky.

The GoPro Hero 8 is a good device. I liked it a lot the only negative thing I thing is the battery life, unless I'm doing something wrong which is possible. It has a great camera it has to be on of the steadiest cameras I've seen. Easy to use.

Exceeded expectations. I’m a firefighter that also trains for all types of search and rescue. Bought the GoPro Hero 8 to record footage of recent swift water rescue training in the rapids of West Virginia. Mounted the camera to my helmet with the adhesive mount that it comes with in the package. Spent an entire week operating in and out of the water, without placing the camera in a case, capturing all the moments in 4K at 60 frames/second! Put this product to the absolute test and was super impressed with the outcome. GoPro has an app that’s easy to use. You can upload all the footage/pictures through Bluetooth and edit all the moments you capture. Highly recommend if you’re in the market for a camera to capture all your adventures!

This is our first GoPro. The stability and picture quality is amazing! The app allows you to download media directly to your phone. The only thing that could be improved is the battery life. It runs out pretty quick.

The videos you get out of these gopros are great. I like that they are smaller then the 9. Only big complaint however is that GoPro made these 8’s not have removable lenses. If you crack it, whole camera is broke.

    Internal Stabilizer: Worth the Upgrade

I previously owned Gopro 6, and I loved it. Mostly used it for hiking, biking, and road trips. Rarely used settings above 1080 because social media often makes the quality choppy. Photos were great, always had fun experimenting with different angles. But the Gopro 8 internal stabilizer is a game changer. I had contemplated buying a stabilizer for my 6, but didn't want to commit because of the expense. Why buy a stabilizer when you can just buy a better camera for the same price.. With the 8, you don't need one! Ive taken amazing road trip vids (holding the gopro out the window with a $10 selfie stick) and the video is not shaky at all! Looks smooth. I've noticed I take more video now than I did with my previous Gopro 6.

Works great, great picture and easy to use, it does get hot while in use and kills batteries fast, that the only reason I didn’t give it five stars. Definitely recommend it but buy extra batteries and charger.

Great little camera for my purpose

Let me start by saying I did not buy this camera to use as a 4k video camera. I use the 1080p because it uses less memory and the upload time is shorter than if using 4k. The camera takes beautiful videos (in 1080p). I don't take photos so I don't know how good they are. About reviews that states that this camera shuts off all of a sudden. The video display on the back of the camera automatically shuts off after 1 minute. When first time using the camera this happened and I thought of the comments about the camera shutting down. I noticed that the " record " LED's were still blinking and the video counter was still working. Also the manual states that this camera is not recommended to use in temperatures above 95F. I think a lot of bad reviews were because people don't get to know this camera or read the manual. I've taken videos while up on a hot roof and the camera never missed a beat. If you want to use a external microphone you have to get the Media Mod for the camera that has an audio input port to plug in the microphone. I test my camera with the Media Mod and used a Rode Go wireless microphone, it worked great, One thing about this camera it has a lot of bells and whistles to it, so if you buy it be sure to read the manual and what everything does. About the Quick app that a lot of people say doesn't work. Once again, know you equipment (smartphone blue tooth setting etc. ) It took me one complete day to figure out how to pair my Hero 8 Black to the app. Once I figured it all out I could have done it in 5 minutes. The instructions for the app are bad and you have to figure most of it out yourself. However once you have it working, it works great controlling the camera. I also used it on my Hero 5 Sessions. One last thing, about the camera being " water proof " I wouldn't trust the camera being water proof as is, buy a water proof housing for it. With the poorly designed side access door on the camera the best I would expect is that it would be " water resistant " at best. Over all this is a great little camera for what I will be using it for, for others it may not suit their purposes. The record time for the 1080p, narrow setting is about 1 hour on a fully charged battery.
