    Extremely flexible and awesome video

Here is my experience having owned this while now with hundreds of flights. Before I start, I received the Hero 3+ as a gift years ago. At the time I thought it was that perfect present since it was a niche/cool thing in action cam I would have never bought myself, but shockingly this is now my primary video camera above my Sony Video Cam and 7D. At $1100 for the Karma, this is a very good deal and affords flexibility beyond the other drones you see on the shelf at Best Buy. The Hero5 with image stabilization (which is one of the best action cameras out there) is removable, so you are not limited to aerial video unlike DJI, but also add composition on land, water, even underwater to complete your video options. There is also a removable gimbal which when attached to the included Karma Grip, affords amazing image stabilization keeping you composition perfectly level with no bumps, even if you are running, on a bike whatever. The gimbal is the single piece of equipment that will provide the most dramatic change to your video, giving you Hollywood like cinematic shots on and off the drone. Putting a cost to this, you have a Hero 5 for $400, a gimbal for $300, which puts the drone cost with case at $400. It is not just this flexibility, but also the total cost that should be considered when comparing drones as most comparisons to the Karma are not apples to apples. How can it be, they are limited in capturing video in the air, with less quality optics than the Hero5... Regardless, for $400, this Karma will fly circles around any other drone even at twice the cost. To introduce a Mavic Pro into a true comparison would mean $1900 for the extra equipment already included in the Karma (I also added a 2nd Micro SD since you would not use the same one for both). BTW, if you already have a GoPro, even better as you have massive mounting options already. Speaking to my experience thus far, this drone has been pretty incredible. It is very easy to fly, so much so that my 10 year old takes over the reins when I need to be in the shot be it driving the boat, etc. It is very stable, even having a learning mode until you get acclimated with the sticks. It is more than impressive in the wind it handles; I would say I have flown it in 30MPH winds and it still provided very good video. This was testing, which BTW I recommend as well. If you view YouTube, you will see many crashes, even people blaming the Karma, but looking at the video's, 9 out of 10 are user error, irresponsibility or just not knowing the limits or how to fly; often many mistakes at once. So, they fly it behind a building or mountain, which you should not do and lose sight of the drone, the drone loses connection and when it attempts to return, it crashes because the pilot did not set a return flight, or even know what it was. Again, hundreds of flights here and I have had no issues, have not crashed it, or even been close once. Like a car, you pay attention, and you don't need a sensor to apply the brakes for you... Actual Video of the Karma is better than the Mavic and has more flexibility in composition in the air, not just on the ground. The point; this drone will take equal and better video than the Mavic will, and that is ultimately what it is for. I recommend that everyone research prior to buying any drone and be realistic in what you want, vs. options. The Karma does not have sensors, so there is no true "autonomous" flight, to which another drone, the Mavic Pro does have. These sensors afford the Mavic the ability to work with GPS to provide perfect hovering and obstacle avoidance. If you research, you find these sensor do not always work and will not avoid items like trees, bushes, power lines/poles, etc. To my point of testing, I take this to a very large open desert area to practice not just the auto path features, but also what could happen in a bad situation. I tested the loss of controller connection to the drone by powering it off while the drone was in flight. I also ignored the warnings and allowed the batter to drain where the drone forced an automatic return. Return to launch and return to you were tested and it always acted as designed bring it a few feet to my landing site. Keep in mind that even in these automatic return modes, you can take over control to get it on that pie plate if need be. I also tested distance; again to 2500' at a max of 400' high. Not once has the controller lost connectivity and doing this gave me immense confidence in the drone. I also continue to test autopaths and different manual composition, so just like the safety aspect, I know what to expect and won't freak out, but equally as important to ensure when I really want video, I know what to do and am quite efficient than just flying around and wasting battery. BTW, like any camera or electronic device, buy a backup battery. It will also help promote safe flying where you don't put yourself in the position of a drained battery after you have already ignored warnings. Back to research. There are drones that claim farther limits than the Karma, however the FAA restrictions affords a 400' ceiling, and line of sight. In distance, that translates to 3000' max since the drone is a black dot. This distance is well within the Karma's capability, but some like the spec of a 3 mile drone. BTW, you also have to register this drone with the FAA, so it's best to research your limitations there as well before you buy (Part 107).

First, let me clarify something. Best buy says the maximum range on the Karma drone is 3200 ish feet. Not completely true. There is a setting in the Karma remote that allows you to disable the "safe" distance option. I have personally flown the Karma successfully about 5600 feet (a mile is 5280 feet) before it decided to automatically return to the take-off point. And by the way, it was very cool to see it autopilot itself the entire way back to me. Once the drone is back in range of the remote touching any stick will allow you to resume control. So on to the main part of the review: The Karma drone package is by far the best deal for the majority of people. For $1100, you get the drone itself, battery, gopro hero 5 black camera ($399 value), gopro stabilizing stick (actually very cool in and of itself, $299 value), and a few other attachments. The camera of course can be used separate from the drone; and let me tell you, that camera is very cool. It is waterproof to 30 feet without a case, can be voice controlled, touch screen (with on screen editing functions), and of course video that rivals more expensive camera systems. The handheld stabilizer is much more useful than I thought it would be. It, along with the hero 5 internal antishake mechanism, result in a butter smooth picture even while hiking, mountain, biking, etc. Let me tell you, it makes a huge difference watching footage during mountain biking without and with the stabilizer. Without the stabilizer footage can be nausea inducing. WITH the stabilizer, it was like watching the star wars speeders flying between the trees. And guess what.... the Karma drone WORKS PERFECTLY! Yes, that's right, none have fallen out of the sky since re-release. I'm getting about 18 minutes of battery life. However, the Karma will return to you with about 2 minutes of battery remaining, so expect about 15 minutes of useful flying time. (Let's see, 18-2 = ... well you get the idea) The battery charges to full in an hour. I bought two extra batteries and will buy an extra charger once they become available. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. It's really the drone purchase that made the most sense for me. Hopefully this helped!

    Buyer Beware, Experienced Pilots Only

My preface is that this review has as much to do with warnings, instructions and customer service as it does the product itself. The Karma was my first drone purchase. Yes, I got sucked in by the GoPro brand (I like their cameras). I thought the entire package was tempting. If you are an experienced drone pilot, you can skip on past this review as a lot of what I have to say you'll likely chalk up to being commonsense. When opening the case and setting everything up, you are told to go through a simulated flight experience on the controller. After that, you are free to fly. That's it. That's essentially all of the warnings and dangers associated with the device. You are told to calibrate it for the first time, and that includes holding the drone and spinning in a circle to calibrate its compass. If you don't have a GPS signal, it will require that you place your finger on the controller's touch screen to fly in Expert Mode. Nothing tells you what Expert Mode entails. If you are in a designated no fly zone, you will be told on the screen (within certain distance to an airport). You can of course override this if you wish. You likely will since any remotely metropolitan area will give you this message. When you fly it the first time, it is truly awesome. When you look at the footage, footage you likely haven't seen before (i.e. my neighborhood from a 200 foot altitude) it's amazing. Let me take you to what happened to me. It's about my 50th flight. I'm on Lake Erie. I fly it twice in one day no problem. The third time, I'm told to go in Expert Mode. I was just taking some photos of the family with the drone over the water, not flying it great distances, and figured this will be quick and easy. I get the drone over the water and things went haywire. The drone seems to be flying on its own and then I get a warning on the controller "Thumbstick input not detected, Karma attempting to land in place." Well it was over the water. Luckily, I get it over land, but I lose the video feed, my controller goes black and then I get a 3 minute countdown timer. I can't see the drone, I run everywhere. At the end of the timer, i have a screenshot of the last image from the Karma. It says its 184 feet to the east. I end up searching the nearby area (about 184 feet away) for 5 hours to no avail. I call GoPro and tell them what happened. (I'll cut the story short) and they tell me the controller had connection with the Karma for 2 miles; implying it was two miles away. "Interference" likely caused my issues. I was never told what interference causes issues with the connection. I was told I didn't perform a pre-flight calibration (was never told I needed to do it each flight). I learned that the drone will only fly in place (hover in one spot) with GPS signal. I had NO idea. I just thought the GPS was for bringing it back to me at the push of the button. I learned that without GPS the drone will be extremely susceptible to wind (their website claims it can withstand some 22 MPH winds, well, that's only with GPS). So in essence, I flew it on Expert Mode and the breeze of the lake blew it away. I tell you all this because GoPro does not tell you this information before you fly it. I'm sure people who actually care to read this will tell me it's my fault because this is common knowledge, but GoPro has the burden of telling its consumers how to fly their drones safely. (Not only that, they're too expensive to just lose). GoPro customer service was responsive in that they talked to me, and I get it, they don't want to replace every drone that's ever lost and why should they believe me, but they do a poor poor job of teaching new users how to use their products which causes some of these problems. Bottom line, unless you are an experienced pilot (i.e. this isn't your first drone) DON'T BUY IT. Stick with another brand, such as DJI, which builds in additional safety features into its drones. But if you do buy it, please please do a lot of internet research so you can learn from others' mistakes. You cannot rely on GoPro to provide you with all of the information you need.

The only good thing about this deal is seem to be the package and modular approach. You get 3 things that you can use together and separately for $1100. But you get 3 things of bad quality. Drone. I'm heavily disappointed. It heavily drifts it's hard to catch it. If it suddenly looses gps it might accelerate in random direction quite fast you'll have to catch it. It has poor (if you compare to others) functionality. No "Follow me" feature, for example. It has "Orbit", but man, due to drifting it's really hard to make use of it. Open youtube and search for "gopro karma don't buy", you'll see it for yourself. I also don't like controls -- it's either not moving or moving too fast, it hurts video capturing experience. Another thing really upset me yesterday -- battery was low so I urged to land it. I did it, I landed it but then it decided to take over control and ascended (!!!) and only then landed. Why?????? It was already on the ground!!!! Another stupid feature "Dronie" -- it works only from remote. Why it doesn't work from the point I specified? What if I don't want to be in a picture? Battery -- it says 20 minutes of flight. But it's not actually true. You'll spend 15 minutes trying to handle and catch it, so effectively you'll have about 5 minutes of useful flight. GoPro Hero5 Black seem to be the best piece of this set but it appears it's not as good as you might want it to be. Sound is just terrible or better say horrible. Camera has decent video features -- that is the only thing that I really like about it. So you'll have to have external microphone if you decide to use this camera. Grip. I don't like it because horizon drifts constantly. Worthwhile to say that it provides you with really good stabilization while horizon is even, if you standing still. If I'm recording while riding a bike (you can attach grip to a backpack) or sitting in a moving car -- horizon drifts. BUT STABILIZATION IS ALSO ABOUT KEEPING HORIZON EVEN. So at the end of the day it's not doing it's job. And by the way another thing upsets me - it's hard to turn the camera. I.e. if I turn 45 degrees left, camera will still be pointing at old spot. Non intuitive operation. And by the way -- how do I supposed to use external microphone with Grip? p.s. I'm blaming myself for not reading more reviews. I got too excited and now I'll have to return it and pay restocking fee..

I watched this package for almost 2 years to see it go down to a price that would not jeopardize my marriage! Many asked why I wanted this instead of a mavic pro or spark or phantom or other drone. I watched all the videos comparing them. I read all of the reviews. I wanted this because of the package. You get a $300 camera, $250 stabilizer, and basically a drone for free! All the others have mounted cameras that are not useful unless you are flying the drone. You can take this one anywhere do to it’s ability to detach and use as a regular go pro camera! The only issue that I have had is that it would. It locate the gps location and so I had to fly and land without the guidance, but it is so easy to fly that it was not hard. It would be nice to have object avoidance, especially when returning to you to To land whenever the battery is low, and if it would follow you, but those are not make or break points to me. A few tips.. 1-make sure that it is updated before you fly it! 2- it will not work with google Wifi (I had to use my neighbors) 3- use the flight simulator to practice before use! It is very easy to fly 4- get an extra battery (flight time is only 18 minutes) If you’re like me and are relatively new to the drone world, it is so easy to fly and so cool! I love that I can use the go pro camera and stabilizer separately! I would recommend it to anyone!

If I could give it less then a star I would. GoPro used to be the gold standard for action camera, never had a bad thing to say about them. The Karma system came out, super new GoPro camera, amazing gimbal, and a drone, sounds great, it's not. The camera is great, the gimbal works as good or better then you could expect, the drone is an absolute mess. Had some minor issues with it at first, figured it was just new drone user. A few months ago I was flying it in a lightly populated rural area in Southern Florida, it came up with a GPS loss error well after it had taken off. It was in the open air, no trees, radio towers, etc. And that drone flew away as fast as it could with the lovely camera and gimbal, never to be seen again. GoPro's technical support while polite basically blamed me for the drones inability to maintain a GPS signal and the fact that once to does loose GPS it will fly away from your position at what seems like beyond full speed. Not only am I out a drone, but the camera and gimbal are gone as well, and there is nothing GoPro seems to be willing to do to try and make it right. This has been a terrible experience from GoPro, they need to stick to the action camera's and get out of the drone business, and I know they have lost at least one customer after this and I would suggest that you look elsewhere for certainly your drone needs but probably your action cam needs. For the premium they charge for at least there camera's, you'd think they would at least replace my camera after it flew away, unfortunately they did not.

Where to start! This is the only drone you'll ever need for the adventurist enthusiast. It's a complete package. Although there is no obstacle avoidance like other drones its very easy to fly. The beginner mode which limits the speed at which the drone flies and the altitude limiter is a great way to get started flying. When switched off you can get the touchy the controls and no more sluggish maneuvers. Battery life is a good 15 minutes but getting a spare battery is a must for more flying time. With the other 3 minutes getting your karma back safely. Battery charges with in an 50 minutes. (hour at the most) I've personally flew the karma to about 4500 feet, and about a 3/4 of a mile away from me and video gets kinda choppy. Line of sight of the drone will get you farther. 4K video is GREAT but getting a Micro SD card that is capable of the storage needed. The Karma grip with removable gimble is the best when getting great stable footage. GoPro camera charges whenever it is connect to drone of karma grip. So you'll never be left with a dead camera when you need it the most. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. It's the only drone that made the most sense with the what's included. Happy Flying!

I purchased this drone about a month ago. First, let me say that this is the first drone I have purchased or flown, but according to GoPro this drone was made for folks like me. I am new to drones, new to GoPro and they claim I am their target audience. So I bought in and ponied up $1200 (kit plus a battery). I was enjoying using the Karma but on three separate occasions while trying to land the Karma it would take off just a few feet from the ground while landing. It shot straight up in the air, I let go of the joysticks (manual and videos says it sould stop and hover) and it rose like a bullet and flew straight off. I had GPS and the battery was about 3-4 minutes left and was landing per the controller instructions. The first time I was able to get the Karma to respond and land safely, the second time it took off and almost flew into electrical wires. I was also able to finally (and just before it almost hit the wires) get Karma to come back down and land. Again, GPS was on and trying to land before the battery low warning came on. And now the third and sadly final time it took off on its own. I was again trying to land Karma and it shot straight up in the air and took off forward lodging itself 60 feet in the air in a top branch of a tree. A few moments later the battery fell out of the Karma. And there it sits in a tree until I can A) pay a tree guy/gal to go up and retrieve it or B) try and shoot it down which will probably end up destroying the drone, camera and gimble. Since, I spent all of my money on the drone and extra batteries and props I cannot afford to pay someone to retrieve it. If you are thinking about buying this, DON'T. Wait until GoPro can get this thing fixed properly. Otherwise, be prepared to have $1200 stuck in a tree mocking you all while you fight the urge to throw up. I am gutted that I foolishly spent this money and stupid enough to believe the hype.

I'm an amateur drone pilot getting his feet wet on this topic, so please take this review as such... I had previously bought a DJI Phantom 3 drone as my first unit to get into the drone world... Although I'm sure it's a great drone, it was really a hassle to turn it on, update the firmware, getting a phone/tablet handy to see what you're filming... so I ended up selling it without ever flying it. I just became aware of the existence of the GoPro Karma a couple of weeks back, and the second I saw it I became in love with it! This drone is extremely easy to use: just turn on the remote control (which btw looks gorgeous) and you're ready to go! Each step you have to follow before putting this thing in the air feels so much easier than on the Phantom 3! Don't get me wrong, this unit costs more than double of what the Phantom 3 costs... However, for this price you not only get an awesome (and foldable!) drone, but you're also getting the latest GoPro camera, the Karma Grip which is an awesome complement to the camera, and also a backpack! All in all, I absolutely love this drone. It's easy to fly, the camera is probably the best one out there, the controller is like a mini tablet, and it comes with a backpack and the grip!

I read several reviews on this and other drones prior to purchasing. I was a bit nervous about it, due to some negative press last fall...but have no worries after flying. I can say this drone is easy to fly right out of the box, and very fun. It provides a very smooth video. This is due to the included gimbal and the smooth flying and turning of the drone. While I find the speed adequate, it is not too fast or jerky for good video. The benefit of having a GoPro camera is an added bonus, planning on some adventures with this off the drone. Positives: Controller includes a screen, very easy controller. Smooth video. Complete kit with case, grab it and go. Detachable GoPro camera. Easy to use. Upload to cloud, then available to all devices. Full store of accessories on GoPro as well as third parties. Negatives: DOA charger on arrival, but GoPro had real support and handled very quickly. I sometimes have to look at the camera button on controller when starting video, wish it had a bit more pronounced feel. Overall, I think it deserves credit for five stars. (I have not heard any other issues of Doa charger, and it was serviced quickly)

As far as my experience with the drone. 1. Drone Wifi signal is not as strong as radio. I like flying manually and sometimes while making a camera movement and the signal breaks you get that sort of lagging in your shot. 2. Real battery life around 15 min, When fully charged it displays 18 min of flight but as the battery is coming around 3 min left the drone starts "return home" mode and even if you disable it, it would start landing slowly. You can control it, but its like if you're fighting with the drones automatic response. 3. This is great buy if you want to V-log with this you can cover Land, Sky and Underwater. Hero 5 Black is a great camera and now you can get Hero 7 Black which is even better. You get around 20ft deep without any additional underwater housing. That's the main reason I bought this product. And it comes with a nice backpack to store and carry your drone.

This is a solid drone that came with a GoPro Hero5 Black. The gimbal system is exceptional! There is absolutely no camera movement when stopping the drones flight whereas other drones don't keep the camera level when they pitch up to slow and stop. This drone is amazingly quiet. My dog is usually wary and keeps his distance from other drones. Karma was so much quieter he barely noticed it flying near him. It comes with a stick on which you can mount the gimbal for very nice hand held photos and video. I certainly can't argue with the GoPro Hero 5 Black video quality. I've been using it in 4K and the video is really nice! The Karma's controller has its own integrated screen so there is no messing around with pairing and syncing up a phone to the drone and controller. The only drawback with this drone is the flight time. I have averaged only 18 to 19 minutes per battery charge. While that is enough for my purposes most days (with an extra battery, of course) it would be nice to have the flight time of my 3DR Solo which gives me almost 30 minutes of flight on one charge. This is a solid drone aimed at GoPro enthusiasts but it certainly works for the typical hobbyist. I do wish they made prop guards for the Karma. I'm looking for a 3D print file to make my own if need be.

This whole Karma kit set is under-rated by professionals and hobbyist alike. First off you get a good 20 minutes out of the battery, which is plenty of time to execute a professional requirement for video or film. The Karma has some pre-programmed automatic modes that allows to set the proper mode for your artistic shot and this gives you the chance to focus on camera work. The modes are Dronie, Cable cam, reveal, and orbit. Included in this awesome package, which any professional will love, is the remote controller, with four hours of battery life! You never need your phone again unless you want to invite your friends to connect with their phones, just to checkout the flight! I have another drone from DJI, but i'm not going to compare. The GoPro Karma kit also comes with the hand held stabilizer which gives you the chance to switch from air to land and keep the whole professional production rolling! Imagine your family reunion or a birthday party that starts in the air, hits land with the Karma grip, and then ends in the air! If you are a professional, you must try this drone yourself. They nailed the "orbit mode" you can go low to the ground in orbit and rock out those awesome shots that circle your subject. Give it a shot, you will love it! The only reason I gave the whole system a 4 star instead of 5 is because the battery life is always shown at 18 minutes instead of 20. This thing would be perfect with that 25 - 30 minute battery life.

I bought this as a family camera for a lot of the active things we do. I realized in my research that there are better drones out there, but this is a system that allows so many different applications that you can't get at the same price with any of the other drones. This is our second GoPro camera we have owned and it is so much better than the Hero 2 that we replaced. They have done a lot of improvements since then. It is easy to learn how to fly and I was happy to find that replacement propellers are only $20 since I had a few learning accidents in the first week. When flying in windy conditions, be prepared that the horizon will tilt due to the drone's compensation for a crosswind. Like I said above if I was only looking for a drone with a camera, I might look at different model, but I have found a lot of different ways to use the drone, and the karma grip to get some great photos. From mountain biking with the grip mounted on my pack to holding the grip and chasing my kids on the beach skim-boarding and taking great photos that would only be possible in the past with a helicopter for hire. We have been loving it.

    Do not buy this drone

Do yourself a favor and do not buy this product! I did buy it from Best Buy and it is not Best Buy's fault. Gopro is great for their cameras not their drone. I recently had mine lose connection with the controller and took off sporadically into a far away cliff full of trees. I was not able to find it. I did everything I am supposed to do before launching the drone and made sure there were no advisories in the areas. Gopro said it was my fault and that they will not replace. Gopro customer services department is not very helpful and very difficult to get ahold of due to 3+ hour waits on hold. I will never understand how it is my fault other than the fact I should never have bought the drone in the first place. The drone loses control very easily and is not meant to be used unless in big open fields. They really need to have more warnings on their product and to fix these deficiencies. The karma does not have sensors on it to reframe from hitting buildings or trees. It does have a return to home feature which I attempted to use on my last flight and that failed as well as losing the ability to use the controller. It basically went off on its own far away. PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not buy the drone. The camera is great for people who love outdoors or sports. It's very unfortunate that I spent this amount of money and extra for batteries and lost all my photos from my vacation as well as my camera.

I am an experienced drone operator. First and second flight went okay. Third flight the battery died only two minutes into the flight causing the karma to enter "return to home" unfortunatkey it does not have obstacle avoidance so it went straight up as progranws, however tree branches high above were catastrophic. Not nearly as catasttophic as the car that ran over it after the drone crashed it fell on the street directly in front of a moving car. The car pulverized what would have been a fixable drone. Anyway, this was all caused by a faulty battery that should have had plenty of power for the expected 15 minuite flight time. Unfortunately the battery died only two and a half minuites after take off. Causing the Karma to hit a tree. I figure this was a big waste of money. I was expecting a quality drone with a quality battery inside it. Other than that I think the Drone woukd have been a great dron my best advice ise. I may never know. But I would not be as confident in another Karma. So think I will stick with DJI for now

I have owned this Drone for several months now and have logged about 30 flights in it. I have access to a DJI Mavic Pro as well and between the two I have come to terms that the higher price of the Mavic is worth the money. Here are the my pro's and con's Pros: Cheaper than DJI Mavic Comes with a carrying case Controller has built in display Easy to learn flight control Easy to replace camera if you break it Records Sound Comes with handheld stabilizer for camera Propellers are cheap and easy to replace (I've crashed mine 4 times and replaced all 4 propellers at $15 per set) Rugged, Durable. Cons: Larger and heavier than DJI Max 17 minutes of flight time (DJI is 25 mins) No zoom available (DJI Mavic Pro has digital zoom) No Sensors to help avoid obstacles EXTREMELY LIMITED RANGE, advertised at over 9,800 feet range but never gets over 2500 feet before it looses connection and automatically returns home (even in clear line of sight). Once you get good with your drone, the limited range becomes a real problem.

The first Karma Quadcopter with Hero5 Black I purchased, I had to exchange for a new one. This one may have been a return. The battery would not seat all the way in the Quadcopter. When I went to finally use the Quadcopter, I had to go through a sync process between the Quadcopter, and the controller. It took a few tries, but finally everything was synced. The reason I forewarn everyone about downloading the full set of instructions from the GoPro website, is that the "Let's Get Started" booklet doesn't warn you, that if you lose GPS connection between the controller, and the Quadcopter, the Quadcopter may act erratically. I pushed the auto takeoff. The Quadcopter flew straight up, and then lunged at me. I quickly pushed the auto land, and it crashed. I was using this the first time at a park by my house. Unfortunately I live in Northern Nevada where the state is quite mountainous. As an owner of a drone you must register it with the FAA, and comply with all the regulations. It may also help to have an experienced drone pilot show you the ropes in piloting your own drone. This would be a great first drone to gain a lot of practice with, and again, with someone experienced to show you the ropes. I love the Karma Grip which also comes with the drone.

First, make sure your microSD card can handle this payload of the massive amounts of sick video footage and pix you're gonna be taking (also, higher quality higher storage but you should know that). The charger can charge the battery pack for Karma and the controller, the stick or the Hero5. That was pretty rocking. The blades are color coded and only need hand tightening. The FAA registration fee is $5 and can be done online. You get a code which you can pen or engrave on the drone per regs. Not sure if it has a follow mode yet but it can hover in place, easy to navigate. Kids are gonna love seeing it, and I learned my lesson the hard way, don't fly indoors until you're really good. Smacked into a door frame. A pack of 4 blades is $20 so that wasn't too bad! Excellent product!

I am the owner of both DJI Mavic and 3DR Solo advanced Quadcopter Drones. I decided to purchase the GP Karma because the bundle value. I had been wanting the Karma Grip and a Hero Black so a few hundred extra for drone really made sense to me because my love for aerial videography. The Karma is amazing in its simplicity and design. My VERY favorite part of the drone setup is the controller, its super convenient and very nice. You can literally get your drone unpacked and in the air in less than two minutes. That cannot be said for my other two drones. Flying performance is really good and on par with 3DR but not as good as Mavic. I also wish the Karma had a few more autonomous modes for cinematic shots. Maybe in a future firmware update? HERE IS MY ONLY NEGATIVE and main reason for not rating 5 stars.... The battery life is really bad for a Quad of this quality. It is literally 12-14 minutes --- THATS IT! So get two, three or more if you want extended flying. The Karma Grip ia AMAZING and the Backpack is awesome. This is one of the best deals on the market in my opinion for capturing great moments on video!
