This was my first 3D camera. It was very intuitive to use and it has very good quality. Since its an action cam, you can use it anywhere. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid 3D camera.

This is my first, and only, 360 camera. It was very novel at first. I used it for a few hours, taking quite a few videos and photos. The HERO mode is great for some really large panoramic photos.
However, the novelty wore off pretty fast and it's been in the bag a lot ever since. Maybe would use it more while traveling it more open spaces (hiking trails, city streets.). Nothing wrong with the camera, it's great at what it does, just seems difficult to choose this over another action camera in the bag.
The 360 video / photos are outstanding though. Would definitely recommend this if you think that's something you'll be doing often.

The camera and the software that you use with it are very well made and easy to use, with the 360 functionality being a game changer with recording video, making the possibilities endlessly fun and interesting. My only gripe with the camera is that dropping the camera without a protective cover will almost definitely scratch one of the two lenses or dent it, rendering the camera useless as the entire camera must be replaced. Despite it being my own fault, this was very disheartening, but thanks to gopro support I was able to acquire a new one for free. I would recommend you purchasing this product with a warranty, as it may be very easy to break but the $500 is irreplaceable.

Its a good product. I use it on my motorcycle when I go for longer rides. The only down side is that when you use the 360 mode the battery only really lasts about 2 hours for me. Not sure if I just have the settings done incorrectly but I love the quality. I wish they have cases for this product like other go pro but I guess since this is still new, Amazon and other retailers don't have a case for it yet. It comes with lens protection that I use all the time and it gives a glare but its still nice to have. The app is a little slow on my android but all in all I like it. I think its a little too expensive but 360 cameras are still new so I get it.

The 360 video is amazing, being able to see everything after the fact is great. But here's the problem, if you are using a Windows computer the app is buggy and pretty much a beta app at this point. This camera Came out in Oct of 2019, the App was just released a few weeks ago. Almost a year without a proper Windows App, although the package says it had one. The Android app works good enough, but if you are using Macs or iPhones then the experience is 1000 times better. Apple apps have options the the Windows and Android app do not. It's also just a much better workflow. Lotsa of potential but if you are a Windows and Android user you will be a bit frustrated.

I originally owned the fusion, used the fusion once tried to edit with it and never used it again it was garbage.
The MAX came out a few months afterwards and it took me a while to trust go pro but after viewing how it work I made the decision to purchase and it was great. This thing is easy to use battery life is good. I purchased 2 additional batteries and was able to film all day. My only complaint is that they don’t include the grip so I had to purchase it separate

As a Dad, having a camera to capture important family moments and my kid's activities is very important. From baseball, surfing, skating, horse riding, ATVs in the dunes to birthdays, vacations, and just hanging out, this is the perfect camera to capture it all.
I also purchased the HERO8, and yes, it is great, but WOW, the MAX is just so much fun. 360 recording offers so much versatility. You literally just hit record and just go out and enjoy your activity. No more being concerned about which way the camera is facing or if you have frames the subject correctly. It captures it all. The GoPro app is fast, easy, and seriously fun to use.
The HERO mode is incredible. I've seen people express concern about the 1440p/1080p limitation. I can tell you from doing side by side against 4K footage, the MAX looks virtually identical. The best part, beyond the truly "unbreakable" stabilization, is there is no fiddling around with extra modules or camera pieces to carry around. You literally press one icon on the incredible vibrant LCD screen and you can change from 360 mode to HERO (traditional camera) mode and back again.
Audio is great. There are different modes to the microphones, so take any video reviews you see with a grain of salt. There is Stereo, front mic, back mic, and 360 ambisonics sound. Additionally you have the option for Stereo Only, WInd Reduction, or to allow the camera to Automatically make the adjustments for you as conditions change.
Low light is better than any GoPro I've ever used before and performs much better than I had anticipated.
The camera is small, light weight, and easy to mount with the folding mounting fingers. With the included protective lens covers, it's the camera I grab for all of our adventures.

I originally bought the Max because I though it would be better due to being top of the brand. But later exchanged it for the black due to a few reasons. Main one bring that the black picture quality was way better. Not to mention other in my opinion smaller reasons such as more accessories available, lighter (Max sucked on a selfie stick, due to being to heavy), and just easier to store. The 8 black paired with the tripod and remote is a must have. So, if you trying like me to decide between max and black? I say save the extra 100 and get the black it is better to me.

I love how the videos came out in super HD and you can use ur long favorite clips into short video with all the highlights using the GoPro app! Unfortunately, I thought this GoPro max would top all the go pros but I still love my go pro hero 7. With GoPro Max, it's hard to adjust on ur head or on ur chest because of the 360 with both cameras on each side. And I didn't like how the pictures came out when you take a picture from the GoPro Max. I rather go back to GoPro Hero 7 or the 8, much easier and less hassle as well. Everyone's opinion is different and this is my overall opinion.

Ok. It’s a 360 camera. It takes amazing footage in 360 degrees. You wanna share it with others though right?!?! You better have a new MacBook or computer running an expensive version of Adobe premiere to do it. Software is expensive in order to edit videos. Otherwise most media platforms do not support 360 degree video in ultra high resolution. Are the videos cool and super clear? Yes. Good luck sharing them with anyone. I returned it and went to the DJI Osmo Action camera. It may not be 360, but it’s a whole lot cheaper.

I like this camera a lot and it's easy to use. It is great to switch between 360 or just using the front or the back camera whenever you like even though you can't switch between them while recording. The app works great you just have to keep in mind you need a fast smartphone that can handle the 360 files and plenty of onboard storage to edit with. I've been very happy with the GoPro Max. The final thing I must say about it is keep the iso minimum at 100 and a maximum at 400 to get the best quality out of the camera.
