    …the fact that its pretty sensitive to scratches, which reduces the utility of my GoPro by a lot. I don’t do crazy stuff, I video cars and stuff, but managed to scratch it on our first time out. Still use it outside, but under indoor lights the scratch kills the shot.

    Some people say that this lens mod is a gimmick, that one should be able to achieve stabilization effects with the existing firmware, that the extra firmware features are locked until this lens mod is attached. It's an interesting upgrade but the convex shaped lens makes it difficult to apply protective film to the lens. One pit or scratch and this add-on will become a $99.99 paperweight. GoPro should release a glass or plastic lens protector for this mod like those for their other convex lenses. Meh. I may add more stars later when I have more time to experiment with it. The build quality is excellent.

    Bought this for my recent overlanding trip to Colorado. It definitely served it’s purpose capturing the beautiful landscape of those old mining trails. My only gripe is that it defaulted to 4:3 screen instead of the 16:9 almost every device defaults to.

    I thought it was okay it's a bit thicc of a lens attachment. The picture quality did get reduced a bit which is a trade off if you want better image stabilization.

    Go pro need to fix the installation. They need to repair the lens does not fit very well in the base of the camera. I thought it was a problem with the first lens I bought. I returned it but it is a factory problem. fulfills the functions of the lens.

    Really good - had a look at a few YouTube instructional videos to see how to get the best out of this in different situations. Maybe a little pricy, but it has the usual high quality GoPro build.
