I grabbed the Media Mod to boost audio quality, and it makes a noticeable difference compared to the built-in mic. Directional audio pickup cuts down on wind noise in outdoor settings, and having ports for external mics and HDMI is a big plus. Downsides: it adds bulk, and once attached, you lose some of that ultra-compact GoPro feel. Also, not waterproof, so you’ll need to swap it off if you’re doing water shots. Bottom line: For creators and vloggers, this is a must-have to unlock pro-level audio and connectivity. Just plan around the added size and lack of waterproofing.

Excellent feature to have. Besides a little bit more protection, sound quaility is much better and the easy access to the ports are totally worth the cost. It's nice to have the ability to add attachments. Though I think they cheaped out by not adding metal connections for a stick or stand, you have to use the ones on the gopro itself.

The mic mod is very clear. Sound allows you to use external mics and has a better sound quality than the grow pro. Itself, the downfall, is it's not waterproof as the gopro is

Using my GoPro 10 without this was cumbersome at best, but this add-on makes it so much easier to use. The charging and microphone ports are especially helpful, and the inbuilt mic works great. Considering how bad the battery life is, the charging port is a must-have for long recording sessions.

It does the job it's suppose to. You need this if you are going to get full audio (remote) function. Pretty decent directional mic on it, but you are buying this for the 3.5mm port to use with your Hollyland Lark M1 wireless mics.

My GoPro Hero 10 fits easily, easy to handle, provides extra protection to camera for accidents. Microphone works pretty well. I'm happy to buy it. Especially when you put your GoPro to wind screen of the car, it is fantastic to plug for charging without opening a lid or cover.

I am happy with the unit so far it served my purpose. One critique that I can mention on the unit is that neither the forward facing microphone or the reverse facing microphone are much better than the original go pro microphone at most a 10% improvement over the GoPro original Mic. I would not have mind paying $20-$30 more for a better set of mics. The main reason for the purchase was to be able to connect an external microphone. Other than that the unit is sturdy enough the mounting ears are also sturdy enough and I like that I can record while powering the unit and it does not interfere with the microphone connection. The GoPro fits perfectly inside of it and the latch is well built to keep it inside. I have read other people criticize you need to remove it in order to remove the Sim card I find the process very easy and it does not bother me. I could’ve gone with three stars to be honest but I went into it knowing that the mics for this unit were not that great so for that reason four-star.

The GoPro Media Mod is a game changer! It instantly improved my audio quality and gave me more flexibility for lights and mics. The design is sleek, easy to use, and perfect for vlogging or professional content. Definitely a must-have accessory if you want to get the most out of your GoPro. THis is a solid product with room for improvement. First, this gives your Hero9 or 10 an external microphone-- but the audio on the 9/10 is pretty good, so this doesn't really improve the quality that much. But the windscreen helps. WHat really helps this is the shoe mounts and the audio in plug. This enabled me to use my professional wireless microphone, mount the wireless receiver on the shoe mount and have some wireless freedom while getting superb audio. THe case is solid enough. Probably what stops me from giving this a five star instead of the four, is the accessibility design: You have to unscrew the gopro from whatever mount you're using to access the battery or the card. Also, wish they had married this with an external battery solution to give longer life.

This little device is amazing. Not only does it serve as a semi-protective sleeve for the GoPro, it also has the ability to HDMI out, which is great for connecting to computers or directly to displays. It feels a little fragile when taking off the GoPro door and loading into the frame, but it is well built and holds up extremely well. I don't like having to take the camera in and out to switch batteries and sd cards, but so far, I've seen no ware and tare and each transition is as seamless at the previous one.

Refurbished Media Mod works great! Used it around NYC and the audio sounds great.

Excellent product. I use the Media Mod multiple times a week. Solid build quality and plenty of mounting options. The only downside is swapping batteries in the camera can be a pain because you have to remove it from the Media Mod. Other than that, I recommend it to anyone needing the two cold shoe mount options as well as the ability to connect an external microphone and other accessories.

Media mod works really well main reason for buying it was the mini hdmi hookup and the microphone Jack!! Only downside is that it’s a hassle to remove battery from GoPro with mod attached especially if you have it on a tripod or stick. The battery gets hot over extended use of GoPro and sometimes the GoPro will freeze or won’t cut off or come one, to fix you have to remove battery for hard reset, and with the mod on you have a tough time detaching tripod or stick and opening the mod door to pull GoPro out and pull battery out.

The media mod is an absolute must have for anyone with a go pro. Totally takes things to the next level.

A must-have if you want to use HDMI out, and the new little light on top. The GoPro 9 fits quickly and easily in it. I also use an external power bank with the usb out. I’d give it 5 stars, but If you use a battery, then you’ll need to completely remove this housing. Kind of a pain. Use a power bank if you can and remove the battery to keep the GoPro from overheating. I haven’t noticed any increased audio with the front mic and windscreen, but I don’t use any GoPro for good audio anyways.

Great product for connecting mics, personally I used my DJI mic mini with it and loved the quality!

Its a cool case that adds some much needed IO on the back, not to mention the microphone. This fit perfectly for my Hero 10. I did have to get a new glass screen protector for the back screen as the one I had on was too big once this case wraps around the camera. Keep in mind that it also requires you to take off the battery door and thus no longer waterproof.
