Tell me what is the difference between the light and this mod? Im giving it a four because i think this is pricey but useful . I went with this mod and a cheaper light from amazon to complete it. I still use a dji mic because this mic is too low for just talking when using at certain distances. Picks up alot of my refrigerator running or my ac roaring. I do live in arizona. Lol. Great for vlogging outside in peaceful settings, quality material but how long does the foam last and how much does it cost for just the foam.? So what is your level of excitement when it comes to the fragility of these accessories. I would hope a light sprinkle wouldn't take me out. Not with the camera but with the accessory. Is gopro replacing gear for free too? Can i get an extended warranty on this mic? I don't think they do. So four stars for the unknown cost of using this mic without a plastc bag around it or worse another expensive accessory.

While the mod provides accessible connections (three ports), it does not charge two batteries at the same time. The BestBuy description is very misleading. There is a noticeable improvement in the audio when you select the correct mic from the settings. Overall, it is a good product but seems overpriced, especially if you expected that it would charge two batteries at the same time. BTW, the manual does not even mention this, so I don't know why BestBuy would have that description.

Very nice and easy to use casing for a GoPro. Sound quality is excellent in my opinion and looks good on a GoPro. Highly recommend this to all GoPro enthusiasts.

Seems very well-made gives you options to plug-in microphones or even when charging

Sadly a must-have if you want to record any type of media. I use it for when I go on motorcycle rides paired with a mic to get my voice. Other than it being a cash grab if you need this it works and doesn't cause problems.

If you are wondering what you need to get that go pro light to attach to the camera, this is the thing. NO IT IS NOT WATERPROOF I made sure to look into that just to make sure. This really sucks because sometimes you may want to take some underwater video at night... and this is no good for that. Honestly it amazes me that go pro didn't make an attachment for the light on that case that lets you go deeper with the camera... but there is a reason for that. It's because the light for this thing can only go about 30 feet deep, which is less than the case that allows the camera to go much deeper. Other than that, this thing will improve your sound to a noticeable amount. But that is only if you make videos back to back and compare them. That's what I did to see the difference. It's not amazing or anything, but you will get some better sound and a spot for that camera attachment for night shots. So not the worst, but definitely not the best. They should have just had a separate attachment that came with the light that allowed for a waterproof attachment. Both the light and camera are almost identical in depth tolerance. Be weary of this attachment if you do water stuff. It is not for that. Maybe shop around for off brands when going that route.

This is an excellent product for occasional use as a source for your TV over HDMI. However, when tasked to monitor camera w/Media Mod over HDMI, and Power to keep it running all the time, the camera and batteries seem to get confused. Will try a different cable, but I think this thing just isn't designed to be powered on all of the time.

I recommend the product, and it seemed to be of very good quality, but to charge the GoPro battery I have to remove it.

It’s a must! The audio is way better and the attachment capabilities are nice. Only thing that sucks is having to remove it to change SD cards or a diffraction battery

This Media Mod snapped right on to the HERO9 with no problems.The wind shield is effective on the microphone. Allows for easy mounting of accessories. My only issue is you must completely remove it to access the battery.

Got this to record my motovlogs and anything else i needed. Very easy to set up and use, no problems so far!

Sturdy and practical, I use it with my go pro all the time. Great if you just want overall better audio quality to to use an external mic.

I don't know if this was something I needed. Sure, the sound is improved, but something about how this mod communicates between the Gopro and the Volta keeps turning the camera on without my input. This causes both the battery in the Gopro and the Votla (Which has the capacity of 2 or 3 batteries to drain to nothing. Parasitic draw is what I think it's called.
