This eBike is a lot of fun! Quite an amazing value at this price point. The compact and folding aspect is a welcome feature and makes it portable and great for throwing it in a truck bed or moderate car trunk.
After having been away from the biking scene for 20 years, this is this is a great way to transition back into recreational biking.
Initial Impression:
This item took quite some time to arrive. I have suspected that there were some supply chain issues that resulted in the long delivery time. Upon arrival, assembly was straight forward, however I could not find any assembly instructions. This should have thrown up a red flag, but kept trucking along with assembling. When the time came to add the battery into the frame, I realized that there was no battery or charger. Red flag number 2. After working with Best Buy support, it was determined that I had been sent an in-store display floor model. Which for what it is worth is fully functional with the exception being the motor, screen and headlight. The bike folds up and pedals just as a regular bike would. Fast forward to a little more than a week later and the actual bike arrived.
Set-up:
Assembly was straight forward. Granted I had the opportunity to do it once before, but it really simple and the bike comes mostly assembled. It would be much easier having an extra set of hands putting the wheels and tires on the bike. Also, someone to straddle the bike and hold it while attaching the fenders and other accessories.
One aspect that was a very nice attention to detail was surrounding these little plastic inserts that shipped in the brake calipers. A very nice touch -- that way the calipers were adjusted nicely and there was a proper gap for the caliper to go over the brake rotor.
Remember to check the tire pressure. Check the tire sidewall for recommended pressure. If memory serves 20 pounds per square inch sounds accurate.
The battery does take quite some time to charge. I let my first charge go over night, 8-9 hours, but I believe the manual notes 5.5 hours for a full charge to occur.
General Impression:
With this being a first experience on both an ebike and folding bike front, not sure I’d own anything else. The build quality is first rate. The welds are stacked dimes! The seat is super comfortable, despite not having much padding in the fanny. The seat height is adjustable and allows the bike to fit a variety of body types and dimensions. The fender/mud guard cover does a good job of keeping road grime to a minimum so that you do not end up wearing it.
The display is a good size and provides access to a good bit of information. Text is quite large and with a very bright backlight. Unfortunately, the backlight does not seem that it can be dimmed and it is too bright. It interferes with the headlight for not the most confidence when riding in low light/ night conditions. Almost ran into a golf cart.
The bike has an incredibly robust kick stand. It is very strong and supports the weight of the bike and rider (assuming the ground conditions are not soft). The handle bars are a bit narrow compared to most other bikes, but likely necessary to keep the bike compact and within good geometry for folding. They are comfortable and sturdy. The throttle is on the left hand side, which took a little adjusting to for someone familiar with motorcycles and 4 wheelers and their associated mechanics of operation.
There is a rear rack as well, which serves a practical purpose for attaching saddlebags, cooler etc. I have considered doing grocery runs on it to get some extra exercise.
The bike has a good bit of torque and took a little bit of time to get mastered. But once mastered it is quite pleasurable! The pedal assist is also quite a nice feature to help with climbing hills while keeping the battery range somewhat reasonable.
One thing that you will not find is turn signals, nor a brake light or rear marker light(s). Would be a nice feature/value add for future models and/or enhancements to this model. Bottom line that would be a welcomed safety feature.
Battery:
Nothing really to add here, however there are a few things that would be nice to see changed. One: The battery locks into the frame, which is a great security feature, however, if the key slot could be moved from the bottom side to the top or side, this would be a welcomed improvement. Two: the battery cannot be locked into the frame and set into the on position AND allow the the key to be removed. Would like to see if the key position could remain locked and on but not have to have the key present. Three: The key is quite large and likely larger than it really needs to be. Would love to see the size truncated to something that would not take up so much space on a key ring with other every day carry keys/items.
Final thoughts/considerations:
Such a tremendous value. I have had half a dozen friends or so, ride it and not a single one has come back without a huge grin on their face and then uttering “I have got to get me one of these!” This would be a perfect means of transportation for a college student living on or off campus, someone who does not want to own a vehicle and lives within the city limits, or someone with a moderately sized trunk and wants to go one adventures. The range has been surprising and can be extended even further by staying out of the throttle and using your human power and the pedal assist function. Be safe out there scouts, Safety Third!

Would only buy when on sale. Good beginner e-bike. Not a fan of the brand. Poor instruction manual and guideline. Skeptical of its durability.

Delivery:
I lost some time from working waiting for this delivery and I’m glad I did for some reasons.
-I wasn’t sure how the delivery driver would handle the delivery, so I wanted to be there.
-The value of the electric bike was high so I didn’t want to risk leaving it outside my door.
Delivery was not on time. UPS had a 2:45p-4:45p delivery window, I received it at 7pm. The delivery box was not conspicuously packaged. It had the picture of the bike, style name information on the box. It’s heavy enough to handle as a team lift.
Now the good part of the review.
The company (GoTrax) shipped the electric bike packed with so many zip ties and foam padding to keep the Z4 pro damage. It was a success because I received everything in great condition. The zip ties I recommend removing them with a scissor.
The instructions were printed in color and easy to read. Every tool that was needed to but the bike together were placed in a separate small box labeled “Toolkit”. I spent about 2 hours to put it together and I took my time. Going forward, folding and unfolding the bike should be quick since everything is installed.
Charging The Z4 Pro:
The bike is shipped with one battery, charging block and plug for an outlet. I charged the battery while it was on the bike. The instructions do say you can take the battery out to charge but I haven’t tried that yet. I charged it for the recommended 5.5 hours the first time and I will most likely continue charging it for 5.5 hours because I didn’t see anything else about charging.
Z4 Pro Ride:
While I was pushing the bike outside I heard the front wheel disc rubbing on the brakes. I checked and everything was installed correctly. I think it is a minor flaw with the manufacturer but I’ll keep checking to see if it gets better or worse. Before riding there’s a key to enable the battery, it’s a good add on security.
Riding feels different and I will need to get used to it. The bike is comfortable but to me it feels bulky. The tires are too big for my liking and I don’t think I could maneuver it the way I would normally with my mountain bike. At least now I have a different option for bike riding. The pedal assist is my favorite because I can get some pedaling exercise and not kill my legs. Overall my ride experiences are good and comfortable.
Fold and Unfold:
This is a fantastic feature and I needed to include this in it’s own section. I can store it easier and have more room. I think it should easily fit in my car but I don’t want to risk ripping my leather seats. I plan on possibly using my bike rack if the frame fits it.
My Wrap Up Opinion:
The Z4 pro is not like the pictures shown on the website but it’s close. I would have like the cellphone mount shown but since it’s not included I’ll add something similar later. I think if the wheels were not as thick would have made the bike look better and it’s just my preference. Please include an extra battery or make it easier and affordable to get one. GPS and a compatible app would be a great addition for security. This is my first e bike that I will enjoy the more I ride it.
I think this will be enjoyed by many people.

Purchased this bike for my son at the end of March, by the end of May the throttle wouldn't respond, the pedal assist stopped working and the headlight won't turn on. To get any warranty service the bike must be shipped to Texas, not the individual parts, but the whole bike. They will sell you a discounted label for $150 and good luck getting this into a box. This should be repairable with replacement parts not having to ship the bike across the country
