Loses a star because these are just standard WS2811 bulbs - meaning you can only control every three lights, and their hard coded sizing means you cant cut the strips easily. The good part is that they will work with anything supporting WS2811 like WLED, which is smart enough to make cutting them work. And by default the lights are nice and bright with good color and the default controller works fine as long as you are fine with Govee's badly translated app.

Honestly, I absolutely love Govee products. I have one of these in my living room and another in my bedroom as well as the light bars in my living room. They work very well, especially considering the price. The Philips Hue will obviously provide a superior experience but Govee has done something amazing at this price point. $80 or so compared to $400+ for the Hue setup? Plus, even this little setup impresses 100% of people who come over and see my tv. Big fan.

Great product but if your tv is really thin, the camera thing has a hard time staying on.

This isn’t a good set up for a cable hidden entertainment center. This was a bit difficult setting up on my entertainment center, all my cables run through my wall. The TV is flush mounted, at first I didn’t realize how difficult it would be to get the lighting system connected. One of the reasons I didn’t buy the the light system with the light bars was because of a review that stated how it wouldn’t work with a hidden cable system. I thought this would be a bit easier, but it wasn’t. The light connection cables themselves where almost to short. The LED light strips are perfectly sized for a 55 inch. It’s been conveniently divided into 4 strips to cover both sides and top and bottom of your TV, but the cable that connects each strip to one another is a bit too long, and finding a way of tucking them in so they are not visible was also a bit tricky. The camera the system includes isn’t enough of a low profile to say that it doesn’t stick out like a eye sore. I have a OLED TV with extremely thin bezels, the top bottom of the camera clip cut into my picture just enough to be visible while the TV is on. I moved it to the bottom, but it then cover my TVs power button since the TV has all its controls placed in the middle. I had to sort of suspend it just below my TV to get it to work. The system it self it great and I love all the features it brings to enhance your viewing experience. Overall I am happy with the lights but the difficulty of connecting it in a hidden cable system is the main reason for 3 stars. I also wish the system drew its power from a USB source. In my case, I had to remove my TV to run the power cable through my wall and to the power box the powers the system. For me there was no other way of doing it. But this is definitely a great addition to any entertainment center.
