    Horrible reception, intermittent ring tones,

    I bought this for my Dad after he left my Verizon package. From the get go, there were problems. Intermittent ring tone :on the "ring ring" phone sound, a known issue I was told by call center person #3. Low volume on speaker Phone: caused by new program upgrade I was told by person number 4. Should be fixed in next upgrade. Went through 2 phones, sent back the third and demanded credit towards a Consumer Cellular phone which I was given, even after 30 days, so Best Buy did the right thing, but at my insistence. The final straw was poor signal standing in front of Bestbuy while my Verizon phone had 4 bars. Jitterbug is on the verizon network. Their phones must be really bad . As a former Firefighter of 20 years I would not trust this phone to help my 83 year old father if he needed it during an emergency.

    The problem with the jitterbug phone is the person on the other end of the phone cannot understand what you are saying. When I called Greatcall they know this is an issue for some of their phones. Asked why they are still selling the flip phone. Their response was only some of the phones need an update but they do not have a time frame of when the non working phones will be updated. Returned the phone to Best Buy within a week. No problem there but called Great Call again for a partial refund. They would not give a refund because we used to many minutes. I explained to her that people on the other end couldn't always understand what I was saying so I had to keep repeating myself. Never ever use this company. They are only out for the money not to help the customer.

    I ordered this f/my grandmother, who is 90. I was most excited about the 5 Star feature. My grandmother was here f/Christmas & the phone worked fine. It was simple & easy to use & understand. We took my grandmother home after Christmas & she had no service. Mind you I checked the coverage area before buying the phone. We were told coverage is available in her area but b/c she lives in a brick house w/a tin roof the phone won't work. Hmm.... Since moving her to a hut isn't an option, we canceled the service. I returned the phone to Best Buy w/no problem. The issue is definitely w/Great Call & not Best Buy.

    RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PHONE! This has to be the WORST PHONE on the planet!!! Bought this for an elderly person but it's far worse than what they had. The plans and box it comes in is VERY DECEIVING.....That red EMERGENCY 5* button they tout in their advertisements?......COSTS EXTRA!! EVERYTHING COSTS EXTRA! Phone (bluetooth) will NOT pair with car even though they said it would. Have tried and had many others try but to no avail. Also, cannot even use the phone in the house and when it has a "tinny" sound if/when it does work. Wish we had returned but it's too late so I think we'll just throw it in the lake!

    Bought this for my mom, who is a senior citizen. It quit working after only a few months. Was not as user friendly as hoped. One feature in particular was as soon as it was opened, a loud dial tone came on. This was very annoying especially if out in public. It was heavier than we thought. My mom wanted to keep it in her pocket but it would practically pull her pants down on that side. We tried the Jitterbug smart phone and it was very heavy and larger than expected, which is one reason we bought this phone. I will say the people who work at Great Call are some of the best. Always got a real person right away. Very willing to help and very easy to understand.

    Confusing, even for a techie

    I really thought this phone would be good for my Mom. I was wrong. You have these big 'YES" and 'NO' buttons that aren't even colored, meaning the simple green and red buttons for dial and end on most flip phones. If it can confuse my GIS software specialist wife it can't be that good. It confounded my mother. And the Great Call tracking software is horrible. Let me repeat that....HORRIBLE!!! It's a good concept, and they seem to think it still is a concept. There are about a dozen other apps out there that work 100 times better. I was seriously disappointed, and don't recommend it for any senior citizen.

    So far not thrilled with the Jitterbug GreatCall service, which you are required to have. Purchased the phone and now over 24 hours later and after being charged the activation fee I am still unable to activate my phone because their activation service is down and they are unable to tell me when it will be up again. Meanwhile, my father is without a phone to use. Not happy and they have offered no compensation for this huge inconvenience.

    The only information I could find about coverage was a map of the US. Had I been instructed to visit the provider's website (GreatCall.com) to check on coverage availability INSTEAD of looking at its printed service map (Kentucky was completely in red, indicating full coverage - or so I thought), I would have learned that Bowling Green is NOT in its service area. However, there was no information pointing me in that direction in the "From the Manufacturer" section of Best Buy's web site or anywhere else.

    Absolute garbage! Sound quality is horrible, speakerphone function might as well not exist as you cannot hear anything through it. Camera location makes it nearly unusable because when the flip is open, the camera is located on the BOTTOM of flip. Numerous other issues that just make you scratch your head and wonder what they were thinking when they designed this piece of garbage. Bottom line - do not waste your time with this phone.

    We bought this for elderly parent and have had issues. Main issue is that it goes dead at random even though it is fully charged. Took back phone for replacement figuring it was phone itself . No improvement. Called company and was told they were aware of issue and were working on bug fix. Never heard back. Called back and they reset phone over the phone. Still no improvement Parent getting very frustrated. Am going to return phone

    Bought this for my elderly mother the phone is full of glitches. The ringer isn’t very loud so she never hears it. Every few days it stops working so you have to take off the battery and restart it called great Call they said their techs were working on the problem and it wouldn’t help to buy a new phone as it would stop working too. Very disappointing as they advertise it as a great phone for the elderly it’s not a good phone. Save your money.

    Bought this for my mother as she has seen the ads and thought she’d like it better than her current phone. It took more than a week and several calls to get her number switched over. Sound quality is very poor. I thought it was just mom until someone else used her phone. It’s only been a few weeks that she has been able to use it, but at this point I can’t recommend the phone or the service.

    Got my Mom this phone and when she tried to call numerous times to activate they kept her waiting then passing her to someone else. After 2 1/2 hrs. She decided she had enough of this company that's suppose to be there for the elderly. Brought back the phone to Best Buy and went to the Cricket phone dealer which did everything she wanted within 30 minutes. Good luck with your jitterbug customer service!

    I wanted this for my 85 yo mother bc of the large display and mostly, bc of the "5Star" emergency button feature. It's advertised as being "as low as 14.99 a month" or something close to that. Upon trying to activate, it is revealed that there is a very very minimal number of minutes for 14.99 and it DOES NOT INCLUDE 5 Star!! With 5 star ... everything is an "add on" feature. Disappointed bc for the price, I am just going with Life Alert.

    This is NOT the phone to get. Like most, we were attracted to the look of this phone but soon came to realize that the "inner workings" are very poor. Lousy signal indoors, requires reboots to get going again, not aware of way to block the incessant robocalls which will eventually eat up my minutes. This phone is more hassle than its worth.

    This phone is so difficult to set up service and the plans are not cheap. I bought this phone for my husband who had had strokes and was so frustrated by their convoluted set up instructions I finally gave up. I couldn't use my t mobile plan and would be forced to pay more money for their plans. I can't imagine an elderly person trying to do this for themselves.

    A gift for my older brother. Bad phone speaker. Great Call sent a 2nd, not new, refurbished phone, that one was bad, too. Great Call charged him a full month, after he switched to AT&T. No refund yet he was only 3 days into their new billing cycle. Best Buy was no help. Don't buy this phone.

    Purchased for my Mother In Law. Great Call made activation very difficult, so I handled it for her. A senior would be very stressed and frustrated by the experience. Lyft ride service was not as easy or senior friendly as GreatCall lead us to believe. Would not recommend unless someone tech savvy gets involved with setup.

    Bought this for my dad and very disappointed. He is hard of hearing and the volume is terrible. It's even bad if you have great ears. Very muffled sounding. The ring tone isn't even loud. Twice I called customer service and was on hold 45 minutes before I could speak to anyone. Will be returning it

    I bought this Jitterbug telephone May 11th 201 9 I gave it to my mom for a Mother's Day present but the phone does not sound right when you talk out of it or you answering the phone either the service is no good or the phone so I would not recommend nobody buying this ph
