I purchased this phone for my grandmother, and I have to say, i’m Impressed. The numbers are large, the display is large & the text is displayed clearly. The menu options are easy to navigate. The phone feels durable, but not heavy. It even emits a “dial tone” when the phone is opened so it mimicks a land line phone. An unusual feature, but I can understand why it’s programmed that way. The 5star feature sounds promising. They are able to track the phone within 8 feet or so of the last signal. If there is an emergency situation, they will contact emergency services or even road side assistance to your location for help. I pressed the red button to test how it worked. The guy who answered was able to pinpoint almost the exact address. Being that my grandmother speaks mostly Spanish, he said they have translators available to help if needed. I was able to transfer the number she had with another carrier to this one with no trouble. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! They told me porting the number would take 3 days...it was done after 15 minutes. Just make sure you have all the required information before you call, and if you don’t have it, Great Call will give you the phone number to the correct department for your current carrier to get the information. The ONLY drawback is the phone does not have the ability to change the language. Spanish would’ve been nice, but it doesn’t get any easier than pressing “yes” or “no”.

Great phone for 90+ Aunt and Uncle

My 92 year old uncle moved to a care home and needed a cell phone to be able to call my aunt who stayed behind in their home. The phone is very easy to use and he is able to push the "yes" button twice to call my aunt. The first question to answer is "Phone Book?" and then "Mary?" my aunts name, to call her which I programmed as the first entry. He has even figured out occasionally how to push the down arrow to call other people I programmed into the phone book. The handset volume is very good and he can actually hear the person on the other end and has been able to communicate quite effectively. He is hard of hearing and has hearing aids. My 93 year old aunt liked it so much I got her one of these phones too. She is also hard of hearing. It was funny watching them talk to each other in the same room on their own cell phones. They talked quite awhile because they could actually hear each other. I don't think the actual speaker phone feature is great so I haven't shown them how to use it. It is very convenient to have the drop in charger so they don't have to try and figure out how to plug them in. This is a definite no frills phone for someone who is just looking for that. This was the simplest phone I found. The Doro 626 is the next easiest in my opinion. There is no contract but I do have them on auto pay for about $20 a month each.

Very good phone for seniors & others who may have vision problems or other disabilities. I wish this was available when my mom was alive because it would have been so easy for her. It's very simple to use and figure out even without the instruction book. I set mine up in the bedroom, very easy, my only negative is that the picture in the instruction book does not show which way to set the phone in the cradle & I can see some people being confused by that but it's easy to figure out. My favorite thing about the phone is the ease of overall use. It has simple yes/no buttons, you really don't have to remember any commands. Easy to take & send pictures as well. It's much simpler than other phones I have used. It also has a one touch emergency button that I think is also very good for seniors & others. The only drawback I see is that it's a bit too simple for me as I like to text & I don't see any way to use any punctuation or emoji, but again texting is simple to do even in places where it is hard to see.

I bought this for my mom who previously had the older version of the Jitterbug. She is now in an assisted living community and needs a phone but gets quickly confused with multiple option menus and such. This version of the Jitterbug is even more "goof-proof" than the previous one, and my mom had almost no learning curve placing/receiving calls and quickly grew confident using it. An added bonus is that when she tells me that she needs a new number in her phone's directory, I can load it in for her right from my location through the Great Call site. My mom likes it so much that she says it is the BEST thing she has gotten while adjusting to her new living environment. The phone comes with an easy charging stand, no small ports to "plug in" the phone to charge it. The numbers and all menu items are easy to read and kept to a logical minimum while the buttons are all large. Better still, if mom does get off track on the menu, all she needs to do is flip the phone closed, open iot back up and it returns to the default screen. This is the first cell phone that mom has yet to call me and ask me "How do I do...?"

Very clear sound. Loud enough for hearing impaired. Large clearly marked buttons & screen menu. A real "no brainer" for the non-tech user. Bought this for my hearing impaired husband who already had the original Jitterbug but needed an upgrade. It's so simple he can actually use the camera. Loves the magnifier & flashlight too. I don't think you can find a better phone suited for the elderly or totally non-tech person. Bluetooth is partially set up at the moment & sound is utterly fantastic in the car. Test call from car to home answering machine is clearer then any other phone used to call in & that's using a normal tone voice! This phone does take a bit to boot up. Battery will depend on how you use it. Charging stand is a bit finicky but found if you place phone in it & slightly push top of phone to front it'll find the connection & stay connected. You can also just plug phone directly into a usb wall adapter or computer usb. Phone is large but slim. Well worth the size for the functions.

    Excellent Phone for Seniors

The Jitterbug Flip Phone has been a pleasant surprise since I received the phone. The best feature of the phone for me has been the larger size of the of the buttons on the phones keyboard. I have cataracts and cannot read the keyboard buttons on a regular phone. I have no problem seeing what I am doing on the Jittergug Flip Phone. It is wonderful to be able to dial the phone myself. The phone has the same basic features as any cell phone. Reception is good. There has been no problem with calls fadeing in and out but that may be the quality of the network of the service provider. Over all I have found the Jitterbug Flip Phone to be an easy to use and reliable phone.

I find the Jitterbug Flip phone to be very easy to use, even when you are not proficient with technology. It has large yes and no buttons and arrows up and down for the different functions. It also has large buttons and display, is bright and clear to see everything and has volume controls for those who have difficulty hearing. I have never completely understood how to do everything on a cell phone until I started using the Jitterbug. Now I can do everything from making calls, sending texts, taking and sending photos, checking messages and more. It also is a safety device with a button to push in case of emergency to be instantly connected to a professional who can help you. I like the additional features of flashlight and magnifier. I highly recommend it, especially for seniors like myself who have trouble seeing or hearing well and are easily confused.

I purchased this phone as an upgrade to the previous basic Jitterbug that I'd ordered through their company three years ago. The old one stopped working with my vehicle Blue Tooth because of outdated software. The new one works great. The Best Buy sales associate helped me to ensure it would pair with my vehicle model. I mainly use Jitterbug because I wear hearing aids and the sound is amplified more than some other phones. Also the screen is easier to read. If you don't need a Smart Phone this is good workhorse phone. It also takes good photos which you can send via text message.

The Baldwin store was out of stock, I was told I could orde & pay for it & it would be sen via mail When it cam I called to activate it and the guy on the phone was giving us the wrong information as you had advertised. At no time did he tell us the price for the plan we wanted, got annoyed when we told him we did not want the plan he said. He told us we would only get 100 mins but in fact it was 200. He gave us a phone number that had been someone else's and we keep getting calls for that person. Also over $10 in extra fees is way too high, plus we were never told.

    BEST PHONE EVER!

The Jitterbug Flip is the answer for those not too tech savy. Its easy to follow instructions get you started in just a few minutes. Extra large keyboard makes it wonderful for the sight challenged. The Five Star feature is excellent . When I tested it , I was talking with a response operator within 15 seconds! The phone itself is pretty much automatically operating, just open it up and you are ready to either dial your number or you can tell the phone who you want to call using the voice call. The phone comes complete with an easy to use charging stand and the battery seems to last for several days on a single charge. If you are looking for a phone for a loved one who needs special care and ease of operation , I would highly recommend this phone!

I purchased the Jitterbug because 1) Big numbers, 2) 5star capability, 3) Frustration with "smart phones". I had a smart phone and it was so complicated (even though I got a great deal on it) that I was continually frustrated with being unable to find what I needed on it. I love the fact that this is a flip phone that does not accidentally dial someone, it has a simple camera that can shoot a photo to Facebook and talk and text are simple to use. The menu is easy to understand and it was very easy to set up. I am VERY pleased with this phone.

I refuse to allow my son to have a smartphone until he pays for his own with his own money and learns responsibility. He insists “everybody in my class has had one since SECOND GRADE, Mom!!!!!” But I won’t budge because learning to budget, manage your money and develop good logic is invaluable and something the world we live in today is NOT going to teach him. So be it. He feels safe with have a communicator and I look forward to him trying to cover his monthly bill, plus, I don’t have to worry about him running up an data bill every time I turn around!!

If you are looking for a simple uncomplicated phone this is the one you want. I left our original carrier of many years just to get this phone. I'm not sorry for doing that. The buttons are very large and easy to see and use. You can also get an add on service for an additional charge for an emergency button. No not just medical any type- get locked out of car, have car trouble, they will locate you by GPS and send help. For what the needs were this was a great choice.

The Jitterbug Flip phone is extremely easy to use right out of the box. The screen is easy to read, the functions menu is easy to navigate. There is a one-touch button called 5Star that connects to agents who can help you if you have an emergency. I have traveled with this phone and it has worked great in every state I traveled to. The phone receives texts well, you can reply quickly using standard phrases that are stored in the phone's memory, or use the keypad to send a specific text. Overall I would recommend this phone for someone who does not find texting important, but just primarily needs a phone for making phone calls.

A perfect product for someone who only wants a phone to use as a phone only with no need for email or internet! I love the large numbers and the large print screen, and the red alert button on the handset is an extra bonus in case of emergency situations. Another surprising extra was the magnifier for reading small print - and also the flashlight button which could come in handy! I am happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it. *** Oh yes, forgot to mention the EXCELLENT customer service I have received the few times I called GreatCall.

I love the Jitterbug Flip. I like the large buttons and the very large menu with a yes or no to select or deselect. It is a very beautiful phone and really fine quality. The volume is great. You can finally hear it in your pocket. Big plus. There is a button called 5Star for emergencies. They answer right away if you need help for anything. They are very friendly even on a test call. I highly recommend this phone for any age. If you were blind you could use it by touch.

I purchased the Jitterbug Flip for my dad who is 95 and had never owned a cell phone. I was impressed right away with the easy to ready screen, buttons and interface. 600 minutes for $20 plus fees is a great deal and calls to Canada are included! We were able to port his land line so he even kept the phone number he's had since 1970. He loves his Jitterbug and I only wish we had done it sooner.

I searched on the internet for cell phones with large buttons and a large character display for my 93 year old mother who can't see well any more and needed a real simple-to-operate phone. This one seemed the best and she is very happy with it. So is the family as we can now reach her and she can call us and her bill is half what we were paying for her landline. Customer service at GreatCall (service provider for this phone) has been great too. All USA based people and easy to understand and short wait times if any.

I ordered the Jitterbug Flip phone for my husband last year. Eventually, the phone stopped folding when I tried to close it, probably due to rough handling while flipping it. It also stopped working, so I called Best Buy after being told by WalMart and Rite Aid, they no longer carry the phone. I ordered from Best Buy and received the phone very quickly. I purchased a desktop computer from Best Buy six years ago and I've always been pleased with their products and service.

We bought this for my grandpa and finally he had a phone he could see. So easy to use. It would be nice if you could add contacts directly from the phone. Now you have to add them online. But other than that zero complaints. They also had the best customer service. When my grandpa passed away calling them wasn’t the first thing on our minds but when we did they were wonderful. They offered their condolences and didn’t charge us anything even though we probably owed something
