This 80 volt Greenworks chainsaw is a great alternative to much more efficient and powerful gas powered chainsaws that are being phased out in California. The 80 volt battery has enough juice to cut down a 25’ tall 10” diameter tree into fireplace sized logs. One thing to note, bar oil is not included, so be sure to purchase that separately to keep the chain properly lubricated. Also, I would recommend purchasing a second battery. When using the fast charger, it takes approximately 45 minutes to charge, which is just about how long a battery will last in this chainsaw. Overall, I would recommend this chainsaw for mid-level tasks around the ranch.

So far we are very impressed with the power and how long the battery lasted. Have been clearing out dead trees up to 10" in diameter and clearing brush along creek bank. Have had issues with the chain oiler. But seems to be working alright now.

Battery hungry beast of an electric saw. I use this weekly to buck logs, until the battery runs out and I fire up the 562XP, I really like the quiet operation, getting about twenty cuts thru 8-12” oak logs with a full chisel chain installed. Lightweight go-to saw for light chores, but a second battery for sure!

This chainsaw packs quite a bit of power! I only use a chainsaw for small projects around the yard, but my old 10" model would take forever to get through the smallest branches and would jam up and stop most times. This chainsaw cut through a 3" tree trunk in about 2 seconds! The cut was clean and took no effort on my part. The only down side- The battery is extremely heavy so for an older woman, the chainsaw is fairly heavy. It weighs just under 17 pounds which doesn't seem like much but if you are trying to hold it above your head to cut a branch, you need to use caution. This is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The battery charges fairly quickly and I have not had to recharge yet so I can't speak to how long it will last on one charge. I plan to cut up branches for the fire pit. It will make quick work of any size tree. There is a "chain brake" for safety. When it is pushed forward, you can not operate the saw. Be aware also that it needs chain oil. My older, smaller saw did not need oil so I had to run out to the store and grab some before I could use it. For some, this may be obvious but it was not for me!

For a battery chainsaw it works for my suburban lifestyle. I used this to cut down 2 trees that are 8 and 12” in diameter and it worked as expected and my neighbors liked that it was quieter than my gas Stihl. I added this to my Greenworks tools: Lawn mower, trimmer and blower that all use the same 80v battery and charger. I continuously adding to my Greenworks collection because I hate forgetting to winterize my gas powered equipment and then have to pay a shop to get it going again. Now when I store it over the winter and I put the battery in and it starts right up.

This thing rocks! All the power in the world. I like that it starts reliably and is much more quiet than gas powered. It does burn through batteries fairly quickly, but with just one extra you can easily get through an hour of cutting time.

Pleasantly surprised. 5 acres of land to maintain, use Stihl saws but wanted something I could use quickly when a limb would fall out whatever. Was not expecting much but exceeded those expectations. Used to cut down 2 45' trees and did so on 1 battery. Saw does not rival a good gas unit, but no need to lug gas around. The saw and some bar lube. This review is from someone that actually knows how to use a saw. Not professional, but not simplistic. Special buy triggered the purchase or I never would have considered.

A little nervous about buying a battery operated chain saw. This thing has amazing power. If you have the 80V system already (Mower, trimmer, leaf blower, etc.) the extra batteries will keep you sawing all day. The batter that comes with it is more than enough. I used it to remove a decent size tree and saw the limbs to a size they could be mulched.

Was very impressed with this saw. Lots of power and receiving a free battery was a huge plus. GreenWork puts out a really good product and Best Buy had it at the right price. I have two batteries now, time to add more tools.

Charged quickly, very sharp, very efficient. I haven't cut anything large yet, but it is light enough to trim branches with, but powerful enough to cut quickly and easily. Came with everything I needed to get started. Wish it came with a manual, but after several phone calls I was directed to a website where it could be downloaded ( not my preferance, but I guess thats the age of technology ).

After using a gas powered saw all my life I was surprised at the cutting ability of this saw. Much lighter than my gas saw and has good cutting power. Very pleased!

Love this chain saw, this was for me. My husbands gas one is too heavy for me to use. This is lighter weight and a larger size than my first chain saw. Would buy it again and have recommended it to another girlfriend.

Light weight, powerful and reasonably priced. First electric chainsaw to add to my collection of 3 gas ones. Like this one better.

The saw cuts very well. The battery lasts longer than I do.
