Very poor performance. Battery died after 16 min of using lawn mower. It doesn’t charge in full after an one hour as assures manufacturer. After hour an 20 min was charged only two dots of four.

Hello Janusz - Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower. The 4.0AH battery included with this kit will provide up to 45 minutes runtime with fully charged 4Ah battery. Using this same battery in another tool, such as the blower and string trimmer, the run time will vary as different tools require a different power demand from the battery. It is important to recognize that the run time when using the battery with a self-propelled lawn mower depends on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, operator technique, etc. - there are so many factors to consider.
Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.
      1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
      2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
      3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
      4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
      5) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS)or start a live chat on Greenworks Tools website. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information. GreenworksTools

Hello Mailbox1349 - Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with this battery. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. A green flashing light indicates that the battery is charging. A solid green light indicates that the battery is fully charged. Flashing red - fault. False Defect Note: When the battery is inserted into the charger, and the status LED flashes, remove the battery from the charger for 1 minute, then reinsert. If the status LED indicates normal than the battery pack is good. If the status LED is still blinking, remove the battery pack and unplug the charger. Wait 1 minute and plug the charger back in and reinsert the battery pack. If the status LED indicates normal than the battery pack is good. If the status LED is still blinking, then the battery pack may mean a faulty battery and needs to be replaced. Solid red means that the battery is at the wrong temperature to be charged (too hot or too cold). Bring the battery and charger indoors for about 15 minutes before trying to charge again. We hope this helps! Greenworks 80V batteries carry a 4-year warranty from the date of purchase.
