Powerful blower, flawed fuel option. The battery on lasts 10 minutes on a full charge. Great for small walkway or patio. The item was returned.

Hello GMan. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this blower. Blowers are considered a high-power draw application which means they do tend to drain the battery quite rapidly in comparison to some other tools. If using the tool at high speeds, higher speeds will drain your battery faster, think about your tasks and how you can vary your speed to conserve battery. It is unfortunate to hear that we did not get the chance to assist you and further investigate the runtime you were getting with the included battery. In the future or for other readers, if you ever experience an issue or have any concerns when using one of our products, please contact us at your earliest convenience to see how we can help. We can be reached through Live Chat on Greenworks Tools website (www.greenworkstools.com) or at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). We are here to help. GreenworksTools

I got this blower because my old gas powered blower needs some work and it was a pain dealing with the maintenance of it. I wanted a battery powered blower where all you have to worry about is having a charged battery. Out of the box, it comes with two nozzles, a battery and the charger. Setup is as simple as snapping it together and putting the battery in. It arrived with 1 bar of battery (out of 3). I charged it first and then started to use it. I expected it to last a while being an 80-volt battery, so I didn't pay attention to how long it ran. I blew the leaves off the grass at the top of the driveway and it died. Being a lithium-ion battery, it died instantly. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. It was such a short run time that I thought that there was a problem. I pushed the button on the battery to check it and no lights came on. I then went to charge the battery. I plugged the charger in and inserted the battery. The charger has a very loud fan. I charged it in the garage and went inside to the living room. My living room shares a wall with the garage. Sitting on the couch I could hear the charger fan running in the garage! Once it was done charging, I decided to do a timed run. I started my timer and set the cruise control to full power. I got through most of the driveway and the grass next to it and it died again. I checked the timer and it was exactly 10 minutes. I did this test again and once again it ran for 10 minutes and died. I got through half of the 4' wide patch of grass next to my driveway by the woods and I gave up. I wanted to blow the leaves out of my front yard, but I live on one acre. It would probably take me 50 charges to get it done. It's just not worth it. I have an 80-volt weed eater from a big box home improvement brand (think blue). I can use it at full throttle for 30 minutes per use for an entire season (about seven months where I live) before I need to charge that battery. That's about 14 uses between charges. I'm not saying this blower should last an entire season on one charge, but I should at least be able to blow off my driveway on one charge! If you have a very small area (1/4 acre or less), this might be perfect for you. Some pros are that it's not as loud as a gas-powered blower, although it's not incredibly quiet either. It has cruise control, which is nice that you don't have to continually hold the trigger. It is a fully variable trigger/cruise control. The different nozzles are easy to attach and remove. It breaks down to be fairly compact. It's powerful enough to get the job done, while it has power. As far as cons, for me, it's not worth pulling out and using. I'll probably just use it to blow out the garage. At least I can get that done on one charge! With the massive battery, it is fairly heavy. You'll be switching hands often. It has a loop for a strap, but that's a separate accessory that you have to buy. Something that simple and cheap should be included in my opinion. The battery life is absolutely terrible. Running for 10 minutes is pointless. Sure, the company will tell you to barely pull the trigger so that it's running at minimal power, but that's not enough to move the leaves. I cannot recommend this blower. Steer clear and find something else.

Hello 91preludesi. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad you had some pros and cons to share with us. We use information like this and work with the various teams within Greenworks to market, design, and sell the products are customers want or need. Higher speeds will drain your battery faster, think about your tasks and how you can vary your speed to conserve battery. To extend your run time, try using the blower setting on a lower speed when high speed is not a requirement, as blowers are considered a high-power draw application which means they do tend to drain the battery quite rapidly in comparison to some other tools. Alternatively additional batteries can be purchased to extend the run time, here are some 80V options. Greenworks Pro 80V 4.0Ah battery (SKU 2983802/MODEL# BAB742) and Greenworks 80V GEN 2.5Ah battery. This unit is compatible with Greenworks 80V batteries; please keep in mind, the higher the ampere-hour (AH) rating is, the longer the run time will be. We hope these suggestions provide a better user experience. If you would like us to investigate the runtime you are currently getting with a fully charged 80V 2.5Ah battery, please start a Live chat on Greenworks Tools website (www.greenworkstools.com) or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934 so that our experts can discuss your experience. Hello Shahizzle. We are sorry to hear of the issue you experience and that you decided to return the blower. The most common issue related to a unit not starting is the connection or battery charge. If the charge is full, please make sure the battery clicks into place. Intermittent function can occur when the battery has not been correctly seated into the compartment on the tool. We would also like to go over the starting procedure. To start the blower squeeze the trigger the speed is adjusted by the pressure applied to the trigger (please review the video below). In the future or for other readers, if you ever experience an issue or have any concerns when using one of our products, please contact us at your earliest convenience to see how we can help. We can be reached using the customer contact page on our website (www.greenworkstools.com) or at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). Thank you.

My previous blower gave up the ghost after about 20 years (it was pretty cheap so I wasn't too distraught), and I needed a new one obviously. I have a few other Greenworks tools and thought I might as well get their blower as well. This blower is just as good as my other Greenworks tools and is an outstanding tool just on its own. My only problem is that with the serious upgrade in power came a lot of weight and both the power/weight can make chores a tad awkward at times. TLDR: Awesome blower for yard work but the power and the weight can make things awkward and tiring at times. Could use a top handhold. I'll start out by stating that the Greenworks 80-volt 750 CFM blower is a heck of a lot more powerful than my previous blower (like several steps up the power chain), and with that comes a much bigger size and a much heavier blower. The weight doesn't bother me as much as the power/awkwardness. You could easily stand on a skateboard and use this as an 'outboard motor'! This thing is no joke. I would have appreciated it if the blower had a top handle like a gatling gun or some other yard tools to help keep things steady and to balance out the stress on my body. Granted, this is really only a problem for me when the blower is going full power which is perhaps half the time that I was using it, but still. My bigger issue is that I have lost my helper because this thing is too big/powerful for her. My wife isn't a huge fan of yard work but she did like following me around with the old blower and helping tidy as I go. Now she is on the petite side but is pretty strong (does a lot of yoga and hiking), but this Greenworks blower is a bit too much for her. She never even got it fired up to 100%. Heck, I'd probably still be looking for her if she had gotten there and flew off into the next county over. My only other gripe is the noise with the tapered nozzle (versus the flatter condenser nozzle that also comes with the blower). When you get this thing going with the tapered nozzle on, it sounds like one of the jet engines I was always around on the flightline in the Air Force. Heck, maybe that's what this thing really is! A handheld jet engine! Anyway, you should probably use ear protection if you are going to use this thing with that attachment. The noise wasn't as piercing with the flat nozzle, which is great because that is the one I prefer anyway. Oh, and before I forget, while the 80 volt battery that comes with this thing is huge, so is the charger, and it pumps that battery full of juice in no time. The much smaller batter from my old blower took WAY longer despite having less than half the capacity/power. All in all I'm happy with the Greenworks blower. The power and control options make it FAR better than my previous blower (or any other one I have ever used), but I might have to see about rigging up an extra handhold for better ease of use.

Fantastic, get bigger Ah battery to extended time

This is a fantastic leaf blower, easily as powerful as our old gas and wildly more powerful than our old corded electric. Get a higher Ah battery (same 80 voltage, just bigger storage/run time!) and you will be master of all leaves, grass clippings, and on high power, landscape gravel and garden mulch too. Whoa. Using the 2.5 Ah battery, run time will be short especially at full speed - maybe 15 minutes? I haven’t timed it, but for fall leaf cleanup under deck, bushes etc, I just use our 8Ah battery from our Greenworks lawnmower. Yes, the larger battery is heavier, but I’m a 120 lb woman and have no trouble “wearing” blower on my shoulder and swinging to aim jet. Speed adjust is a simple thumb push as you work. Easy peasy. No more fumes, brain numbing noise and heavy gas backpack for me. I love this blower.

This is one of the only battery powered blowers I have seen that actually gives a gas blower a run for its money. The max blowing speed is impressive. You will drain the battery pretty quickly on max which is engaged by using the turbo button. Moving leaves, cleaning my patio and drying my car haven't made that necessary anyway. Even without the turbo it's more than capable enough to deal with anything a gas powered one would be needed for. The build quality is good. It's mostly plastic but it has a sturdy feel to it. The ergonomics are good and it's comfortable to hold for long periods without fatigue but it's certainly not light because of the large battery needed. I especially like that it can be used at various power levels. I have been slowly phasing out our previous 40 volt line of products which are great but less powerful. The trigger lock feature is especially useful because you can lock in the exact power you need without having to hold the trigger and have much more control around mulch and other more delicate areas. Based on my use so far and my previous years of using their products for all my lawn care needs this is well worth the value.

Hello Kart. We are sorry to hear of this experience. The rate of degradation depends on how well the battery is maintained. In optimal conditions our 80V batteries should keep their charge for up to 2,000 full charging and discharging cycles (1,000 with a rapid charger). While we only work with the highest quality products, nothing is always perfect, but not to worry Greenworks 80V battery platform are offered with a 4-year (homeowner) limited warranty.
