Pros: Throws light to moderately heavy snow a good distance Cons: Snow is not thrown in any particular direction, just sort of sprays everywhere. As other comments have mentioned, it’s heavier and more cumbersome than it should be

Easily went through snow and ice all the way down to the pavement in a single pass. Not hard to push and battery lasted for over an hour maybe longer but i finished.

Used my snow shovel today in deep snow and where the city plowed me in. Worked perfect. Took me 30 minutes or so. The battery was still strong but just put in on charge anyway. Mine come with 2 batteries. Should of took video, maybe next time. Gonna buy on for my brothers

It is very powerful and cuts through most types of snow. Unfortunately, it is also very heavy and hard to maneuver, some of that is the battery and can only throw the snow in one direction. The battety does not last that long.

    Blows with the wind

It definitely blows the snow out of the way…however if there is any wind it will blow it right back onto you and your roof!! It is windy here in winter so trying to use this is futile. I Would NOT recommend this product it’s in need of several modifications. The direction in which it blows needs to be in more than only one direction also why can’t it be made with wheels so it could move on uneven ground? This item may work for a paved even driveway? Also I used it on my porch and the wind blew the snow onto my roof . ( if I could of moved the direction in which it blows it probably would of been a much better product) It works but needs improvement.

Hello DeborahM. Thank you for sharing your experience. Most snow shoves are not equipped with a chute, they are a light duty electric snow shovel for walkways, driveways and patios. Positioning matters, try standing slightly to the side of the shovel's path, not directly behind it, to avoid the snow blowing back at you. We do suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. We hope these tip helps provide a better user experience. This is a great alternative to hauling out the heavy snowblower. It's still hefty and as others have said, you need to pay attention to the direction you're going if there's wind, as there is no way to direct the snow being cleared. Still easier than a shovel or a snowblower.

This snow shovel is a powerful snow thrower for those smaller snowfalls. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because as a taller person I need a bent handle to push at the proper angle - this one requires me to stoop too much.

This unit has a start of an idea that goes in the right direction. However how it sits it needs much more work. Unit can be heavy to move around. My battery stuck in the box where the battery goes. All snow hit me back, did not throw snow out. If you adjust the unit it does not help. Had better luck with my regular shovel. It really is not any quicker to get the job done. Save your money. Not worth the over 200 plus dollars. More worth 50 dollars if its lucky. No chance for Recommendation

Hello LBDAPENGUIN. Thank you for sharing your experience with the 80V snow shovel. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear the unit did not meet your expectations.
This model uses fixed directional vanes rather than a chute, and snow should be directed forward when the auger is fully engaged, and the shovel is kept at the correct angle during operation. If snow is blowing back toward you, it may indicate the operating height or angle needs adjustment, or that the snow is too heavy, wet, or compacted for this style of snow shovel. We can also help troubleshoot the battery sticking in the compartment to ensure it inserts and releases smoothly.
We would like the chance to assist further and make sure your unit is functioning properly. Please reach out to our customer success team via Live Chat at www.greenworkstools.com or call 1-888-909-6757, and we would be glad to help. GreenworksTools

Hello jp49 - Electric snow shovels come in a variety of styles and sizes, but they all work on the same basic principle. As you move the electric snow shovel forward, a plastic auger scoops up snow and flings it forward – usually about fifteen or twenty feet forward. This gets rid of the need to bend over and scoop up snow yourself, let alone throw it. Clearing snow is practically as easy as vacuuming a rug with an electric snow shovel. Adjusting the handle can provide a better balance, this will help evenly distribute the weight between the battery and the base and should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. Too heavy and awkward to engage trigger and balance the weight too. A cushioned shoulder strap may have helped? A 12” wide swath is too small a cleaning area to do a driveway. Wheels on the unit would have allowed easier maneuvering of the unit. Quality workmanship but more like a “Prototype” the battery is between 4 to 4.5 lbs alone.

Hello RglennS. Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the weight, balance, and overall ergonomics of the 80V 12" Cordless Brushless Snow Shovel did not meet your expectations. We understand how challenging it can be to use a unit that feels awkward to handle, especially during extended snow-clearing tasks.
Your suggestions regarding a cushioned shoulder strap, added wheels for easier maneuverability, and a wider clearing path are thoughtful and constructive. While the unit is designed for lighter, targeted snow removal rather than full driveway clearing, we understand how that may not have been clear or suitable for your needs.
We appreciate your recognition of the build quality and thank you for providing such thorough, experience-based feedback.
