They appreciate its ease of use, especially for seniors, and find great value in its affordable price. Serious love hate relationship with this shovel. The battery charges to full incredibly fast as advertised. And the shovel shoots out beautifully! Buuuuuut…the one and only flaw I had with this shovel is in order to be able to push this along the path and get to dig into the snow, I had to bend over uncomfortably. If I stand straight (I’m 6’2”), the bottom edge of the shovel digs downward into the ground. If it had a sloped edge that you could just slide along the path, this shovel would be perfect. I watched the video of a man using this on his deck…had none of my problems. I didn’t try this on the deck. I used this on a dirt walkway and a gravel driveway.
I went ahead and spent an additional $100 for the battery operated snow blower. The wheels will make all the difference.

Hello mces. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sad to hear you are not happy with the Shovel. This unit ergonomic was designed to eliminates back strain, with an adjustable auxiliary for a more comfortable fit. To adjust the handle, loosen the bolts until the auxiliary handle is no longer secured. Move the auxiliary handle to the height you prefer, make sure the raised points on the auxiliary handle are aligned with the groove on one side of the handle shaft. Once the handle is set to desired setting, tighten the bolts with a Phillips screwdriver until auxiliary handle is secured. Lastly, We do not recommend the use of any Greenworks shovel or single-stage snow thrower on gravel or crushed rock surface. Hope this information helpful. If you require any additional support or have questions regarding product, we urge you to try our Q&A section on product's page. Hello Charles. Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with this unit’s weight and handling. Adjusting the handle can provide a better balance, this will help evenly distribute the weight between the battery and the base. This machine unit weighs approximately 16 lbs. (7.05 kg)(without a battery). We have a video that helps explaining how to operate your Greenworks snow shovel. You can check it out here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVR6izrGiE). Hello popag. Thank you for sharing your expereince. We are happy to hear the unit worked as expected. We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with this unit’s weight. This is our most powerful voltage line and operates similar to a gas unit without the inconvenience of a gas product such as maintenance and gas. As such the weight of the unit does take some getting used to, we do have a range of tools for a variety of household chore needs. Lighter units can be found in our 24V and 40V lines but of course, these products would come with reduced power. Our Designers and Product Developers will occasionally read these reviews, so we really appreciate it when customers tell us what they think and share their experience with us. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Works really well we finally got to test it out. Throws snow about 15-20 feet depending on how wet it is. The only way it could be improved is if it had a shute or a way to direct the snow to the side instead of throwing it straight in front of you.

This unit has a start of an idea that goes in the right direction. However how it sits it needs much more work. Unit can be heavy to move around. My battery stuck in the box where the battery goes. All snow hit me back, did not throw snow out. If you adjust the unit it does not help. Had better luck with my regular shovel. It really is not any quicker to get the job done. Save your money. Not worth the over 200 plus dollars. More worth 50 dollars if its lucky. No chance for Recommendation

Hello LBDAPENGUIN. Thank you for sharing your experience with the 80V snow shovel. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear the unit did not meet your expectations. This model uses fixed directional vanes rather than a chute, and snow should be directed forward when the auger is fully engaged, and the shovel is kept at the correct angle during operation. If snow is blowing back toward you, it may indicate the operating height or angle needs adjustment, or that the snow is too heavy, wet, or compacted for this style of snow shovel. We can also help troubleshoot the battery sticking in the compartment to ensure it inserts and releases smoothly. We would like the chance to assist further and make sure your unit is functioning properly. Please reach out to our customer success team via Live Chat at www.greenworkstools.com or call 1-888-909-6757, and we would be glad to help.

Hello Papo. We appreciate your feedback. Most electric snow shovels are designed to look and operate similarly to a traditional shovel, making them natural to use. To use an electric snow shovel effectively, you can, consider where you're shooting the snow and avoid people, cars, and houses. Adjust the angle of the shovel to avoid sending snow into the road or back toward your house If using the machine on wet and icy snow it can be heavier and harder to remove than light and powdery snow. If you expect more than 12 inches of snow, start with the first six inches while it's still snowing. Alternate your hand positions and the direction you're tossing the snow. Bend at the knees and lift with your legs to reduce back strain. We have a video that helps explaining how to Operate your Greenworks snow shovel. You can check it out here: (https://youtu.be/GVR6izrGiE0). We hope these tips and suggestions assist in a better user experience. Should you have any further questions or warranty needs, contact us through Live Chat on (www.greenworkstools.com) or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline 1-855-345-3934. We are here to help.

Too heavy and awkward to engage trigger and balance the weight too. A cushioned shoulder strap may have helped?
A 12” wide swath is too small a cleaning area to do a driveway.
Wheels on the unit would have allowed easier maneuvering of the unit. Quality workmanship but more like a “Prototype” the battery is between 4 to 4.5 lbs alone.

Hello RglennS. Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the weight, balance, and overall ergonomics of the 80V 12" Cordless Brushless Snow Shovel did not meet your expectations. We understand how challenging it can be to use a unit that feels awkward to handle, especially during extended snow-clearing tasks. Your suggestions regarding a cushioned shoulder strap, added wheels for easier maneuverability, and a wider clearing path are thoughtful and constructive. While the unit is designed for lighter, targeted snow removal rather than full driveway clearing, we understand how that may not have been clear or suitable for your needs. We appreciate your recognition of the build quality and thank you for providing such thorough, experience-based feedback. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Works great as long as you only go in one direction and the wind isn't blowing! No way to direct the snow that you're clearing so you're always spraying snow where you just cleared!

Hell Jamm - Thank you for taking the time to share you experience. We suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper, should hopefully assist in a more enjoyable user experience. If you have additional or specific questions, we'd be happy to answer them simply contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6867 or start a live chat on Greenworks website.
