On the plus side, the battery provides plenty of power. On the minus side, the device is heavy and throws the snow straight out so you can aim it off the side. Kind of useless for clearing a sidewalk if you don't want to cover your neighbor's sidewalk. Also be warned, Best Buy only gives you a 15 day return policy - my mistake for not noticing that. But they will happily give you 60 days if you pay them $50 a year.

Hello N405. Thank you for the feedback on Greenworks 80v 12" snow shovel. We are happy to hear you are pleased with the power the battery provides. Electric snow shovels come in a variety of styles and sizes, but they all work on the same basic principle. As you move the electric snow shovel forward, a plastic auger scoops up snow and flings it forward – usually about fifteen or twenty feet forward. This gets rid of the need to bend over and scoop up snow yourself, let alone throw it. To direct the angle at which an electric snow shovel throws snow, slightly tilt the shovel itself in the desired direction while operating it; essentially, by angling the shovel slightly left or right, you can control where the snow is ejected. A small tilt is usually enough to redirect the snow slightly to the side you want. Important considerations are the snow consistency and terrain. Snow consistency, different types of snow (powdery vs. wet) can affect how far it throws, so adjust your technique accordingly. Terrain, uneven surfaces might impact the throwing distance, so be mindful of your path. We hope these tips help provide a better user experience. Weighs about 20 lbs with battery. No directional louvers, throws straight ahead. Have to tip machine upside-down to remove battery. Battery lasts a long time. Throws snow well and for a good distance. Comes with a fast charger. Takes about 1/2 hr to completely charge a low battery. Very sturdily made. If keeping it inside between uses I suggest resting it in an empty cat liter box.

Greenworks cordless brush snow shovel was heavier and more difficult to work than my small snow blower. It really didn’t clear the snow well. At least 6 ft long it was unwieldy to manage. I’ll look for something more user friendly,

Hello MaryO. Thank you for your feedback. The 80V 12" Cordless Brushless Snow Shovel is designed as a compact, lightweight option for smaller areas, but we understand that for longer driveways or heavier snow, it can feel unwieldy and less efficient than a larger snow blower. For more extensive snow clearing, a wider snow blower with a higher-capacity battery may provide better performance and easier handling. We appreciate your input, as it helps others select the right tool for their needs. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Pros: Throws light to moderately heavy snow a good distance
Cons: Snow is not thrown in any particular direction, just sort of sprays everywhere.
As other comments have mentioned, it’s heavier and more cumbersome than it should be

Works really well we finally got to test it out. Throws snow about 15-20 feet depending on how wet it is. The only way it could be improved is if it had a shute or a way to direct the snow to the side instead of throwing it straight in front of you.

This is a great alternative to hauling out the heavy snowblower. It's still hefty and as others have said, you need to pay attention to the direction you're going if there's wind, as there is no way to direct the snow being cleared. Still easier than a shovel or a snowblower.

Used my snow shovel today in deep snow and where the city plowed me in. Worked perfect. Took me 30 minutes or so. The battery was still strong but just put in on charge anyway. Mine come with 2 batteries. Should of took video, maybe next time. Gonna buy on for my brothers

It definitely blows the snow out of the way…however if there is any wind it will blow it right back onto you and your roof!! It is windy here in winter so trying to use this is futile. I Would NOT recommend this product it’s in need of several modifications. The direction in which it blows needs to be in more than only one direction also why can’t it be made with wheels so it could move on uneven ground? This item may work for a paved even driveway? Also I used it on my porch and the wind blew the snow onto my roof . ( if I could of moved the direction in which it blows it probably would of been a much better product) It works but needs improvement.

Hello DeborahM. Thank you for sharing your experience. Most snow shoves are not equipped with a chute, they are a light duty electric snow shovel for walkways, driveways and patios. Positioning matters, try standing slightly to the side of the shovel's path, not directly behind it, to avoid the snow blowing back at you. We do suggest noting, the wind directions, if possible; and move in the same direction as the wind so that the snow is not pushed towards the wind. Directing the snow in front or to either side by pushing the snow shovel forward so that it rides on the scraper. We hope these tip helps provide a better user experience. If you ever have any Greenworks warranty needs or product questions, please feel free to give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or start a Live chat on Greenworks Tools website (www.greenworkstools.com). This snow shovel is a powerful snow thrower for those smaller snowfalls. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because as a taller person I need a bent handle to push at the proper angle - this one requires me to stoop too much.

My son cleared our sidewalk and parking spaces in about 15 minutes. Love this! I wish we could direct the snow to the side though.
