So great to go electric with snow removal!

I bought this battery-powered snow thrower because I hate breathing exhaust fumes from my gasoline-powered one. Assembly was simple, and the device is not too heavy for me to lift into my vehicle. As for usage, it's simple to operate. The handle for directing the chute is well designed. The battery charges fast, the charger is fan-cooled, and with green lights indicating a complete recharge. (See photo.) Installing the battery is simple, however, removing the battery is a little awkward lifting it out with just the fingertips. The motor noise level is much quieter than my gas powered one. I carry a 1x2 stick to clear the chute when the snow is wet and sticky. I have to be careful going over sections of broken or uneven concrete – it makes a loud bang when it hits an irregular chunk of pavement (which any snowthrower would do). However, the plastic rotor blade might chip or crack, and I'm considering purchasing a replacement rotor blade just in case it might break. Now, you do have to push this device, it is not self-propelled. And the two times I've used it so far, it left a thin layer of snow on the sidewalk, it didn't scrape all the way to the concrete. And it would be nice if the handles were slightly higher, as I am a six foot senior. But all in all, I am delighted to have gone electric with my snow removal. Just look at that styling – it's like a big toy! Be safe everyone – these machines must be respected and used with safe practices.

    Greenworks Snowblower = Great Value

The Greenworks 80v 20" snowblower is the perfect snowblower for my city lot. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put together, the handles snap into place and the shoot for the snow throw snaps into place. The heavy duty, 80v battery charged from 1 bar (out of 4) to full, in less than an hour. Operating is very easy. Buttons are clearly labeled, and the lights are another great feature. It is easy to adjust both the direction and height of the snow throw. The snowblower is very quiet and runs very smooth. The battery has more than enough power for me to do my sidewalks and driveway. All in all I am very pleased with my new Greenworks snowblower.

    Greenworks 80VSnowBlower Outperformed Expectations

I've always shoveled the snow for four plus decades and thought numerous times about getting a snow blower - trust me. I just didn't want to spend the money on something I may only use once a year and must deal with it taking up too much room when storing it. I was a little skeptical with ordering this small single stage electric snow blower, thinking it would not be able to perform and probably just get clogged up, but I got a chance to use it yesterday with about 5 in of wet snow and was really impressed with how well it performed. The unit arrived quickly and with no box issues, and the battery arrived almost fully charged and finished charging while I put the unit together. The handles and snow chute went together quickly and easily - no tools required. Outside it performed above my expectations and easily cleared my front sidewalk, 2-car wide by 2-car length driveway, and 50’ section of the street side for our other car and mailbox area and did so without clogging. Did it throw the wet snow 20’, no, but more like 10’, which was plenty. I’m it would even perform better with dry snow. Using this snow blower instead of just using a shovel greatly reduced the time and effort it normally takes. It makes me wish I had bought it years ago, and with its smaller size, I'm not too concerned with it taking up too much room when storing it. I would definitely recommend this item.

Light and powerful snowblower with decent battery life will do the job in many circumstances. Have easily gotten 30-40 minutes each time out of this battery in frigid temps and have never run it all the way down, plus it charges quickly. It has handled 5 inches of new snow fairly easily.

Product is (probably) fine, instructions abysmal

Looks like a decent machine so far, although it arrived 3 weeks after I bought it (thanks a lot, Best Buy) so it is doubtful I will get to try it on any ACTUAL snow for about 10 months. I gave it 4 stars, but only because I somehow survived the assembly process. Maybe everyone else who bought this thing moonlights as an engineer, but I found the instructions less clear than your average cave drawing scribbles. They were clearly designed by someone sadistic going through a bad breakup. There are, what, five parts? And yet, labeling them (either on the instructions or on the parts themselves) was apparently too much to ask. Explaining anything? Also a no. A helpful video? Dream on. The “instructions” consist of cryptic, picture-only diagrams that zoom in on the most useless fragments of each part—and oh, did I mention, the directions were printed on 3-inch panels so the only way to SEE them is to take a picture with your phone and zoom in on the picture? I am attaching a picture example. I mean, seriously, do they expect anyone to understand this at ALL? Fortunately, I was able to find a YouTube video (and only one!) of someone assembling a similar model so I was able to extrapolate what was supposed to be done here.

    Crappy machine, crappier customer service

Too early to determine if the machine is good or bad. But one thing for sure - their customer service is horrible. Look at the photos below - 1) the actual machine belt assembly 2) what the manual shows as belt assembly. The pulley in the middle is missing from the diagram. I reported to the agent (some Vincent, a piece of work!) that they are publishing bad schematic diagrams for a generally available product. He started getting irritated, told me he will pass up the chain. I asked politely if I should call back or do I expect to get a call back so I some expert can tell me if the belt will go over or under the pulley - he hung up. I will never buy one more product from these people, and take time off work to express my disappointment on every platform I have access to.

A strong competitor to gas snowblowers. No more gas to worry about. Charge lasts. It cleared my 2 car driveway and sidewalks perfectly and with battery charge left over. The headlights show perfect light at night to light the way. Very happy with this purchase. PLUS! The charger and battery are compatible with my Green works 80V lawnmower. Green works does it again! Thanks Best Buy!

    Good snow thrower

There are both good and needs improvement comments. The size of the driveway is about 20 ft wide by 25 ft long. The snow level has been between 1” to 5”. Mostly power with a little wet snow mixed in for good measure. Assembly was easy even with just the pictures. The battery does work at least 15 minutes since that is how long it takes to blow the driveway. When I check the battery charge, it’s either has 4 lights and once had 3 lights. The distance of the snow being thrown is greater when the snow depth is higher. The 5” snow didn’t brother the thrower in anyway. The auger even cut thru ice when I accidentally went over some. I would not recommend much ice since the auger is totally plastic. Maybe a metal edge would be nice. The machine doesn’t remove the snow down to the bare pavement, but it gets it within about 1/16” of an inch. Good enough for the sun to melt the snow quickly. (The larger gas powered two stage blowers do about the same.) No matter how I position the chute, snow blows back on the machine. I haven’t figured out about the lights, but it would be nice if I could shut off the lights. When the snow was wetter and less depth, the snow I’ll stick to the chute. The machine doesn’t come with with cleaning rod. The machine seems powerful enough for my small area. Thus I’d recommend this product overall. Only time will tell how it performs in the future since it’s mostly plastic.

I started by purchasing the greenworks shovel but had to return it because of the angle i had to hold it at to shovel was uncomfortable. I got this.,,and am soooooo happy. I put it together in my kitchen. (Easy assembley) i was anxious to take it out for a test run. I lifted it with one hand and carried it out the door. (Needed a second had to angle it). Popped the battery in and tried to start it….and it didnt start!!! (I took a deep breath…looked at the instructions….,my fault. Need to get the horder right. Pull the handle THEN push the button. It wont work if you do it in the other order. So i started it up beautifully. Now the real test. I had about two feet of piled snow from the snow plow along the road. Moving the snow blower was easy, when i hit the pile, had had to do a few pushes to get through. Even though it was heavy snow, it still tossed it in the air easily. It was a little more work then a gas powered blower, but definitely worth a few extra pushes. My walkway had about three inches of heavy snow. (Had mixed snow and rain a few hours earlier). No problem….no clog. When i was done, i was down to 1/4 of the battery. For heavy snow..,,it definitely got a workout! For my first run, this blower earned 5 stars easily.

Works well so far. It is all plastic so durability may reduce life of machine. Plenty of power with 80v to handle 3-4” depth. 4amp battery is sufficient to do my 3 car driveway. With the limited use, I would recommend for in town use.

I recently purchased the Greenworks Snow Blower, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This snow blower has become my go-to solution for effortlessly tackling even the heaviest snowfalls. Two standout features that deserve special mention are its robust battery performance and the incredibly easy setup process. One of the most impressive aspects of the Greenworks Snow Blower is its battery. The snow blower comes equipped with a strong and long-lasting battery that truly stands up to its promises. I was able to clear my entire driveway and walkway on a single charge, and there was still plenty of power left for more. This is a game-changer, especially for those in areas with heavy snowfall, as you won't have to worry about constantly recharging or refueling. The efficiency and power of the battery ensure that you can get your snow clearing done without interruption. Setting up the snow blower couldn't be easier. The assembly process was straightforward, and the included instructions were clear and concise. It took me less than 15 minutes from unboxing to having the snow blower ready for action. The design is intuitive, with minimal components that snap into place with ease. Even if you're not particularly mechanically inclined, you'll have no trouble getting this snow blower up and running quickly. The snow blower's ergonomic design and adjustable handles make it comfortable to use, even during extended snow clearing sessions. The chute rotation and deflector controls are easy to manipulate, allowing you to direct snow where you want it to go with precision. The build quality is top-notch, with durable materials that can withstand the harshest winter conditions. In conclusion, the Greenworks Snow Blower is a reliable, efficient, and user-friendly snow-clearing machine. Its strong battery and easy setup process make it a standout choice for anyone in need of a snow blower that gets the job done without the hassles. I wholeheartedly recommend this snow blower to anyone seeking a convenient and powerful snow-clearing solution that will save you time and effort during the winter months.

Hello ScottC. Thanks for your feedback! We are glad to hear the 80V snow blower is performing well on flat terrain and that you are seeing solid battery life. With 4–5 inches of snow, especially if it is wet or densely packed, the machine will naturally require more effort due to resistance and the lack of self-propulsion.

For optimal results in deeper snow, we recommend working in overlapping passes and ensuring the auger area is cleared regularly to prevent clogging. If you ever need usage tips or support, our team is here to help at 1-888-909-6757 or via Live Chat at greenworkstools.com. GreenworksTools

Greenworks 80V snow blower worked really well. Was able to clear my 35 ft long 2 car driveway and most of the street in front of my driveway with the 4 ah battery, after about 7 inches of snow fell. The machine did a great job. I would give it 5 stars if the blower actually let me shoot the snow 25 feet. It did not, more like 15 ft, I would recommend this machine.

We purchased this snow blower because we recently moved into the area, and we realized that if it snowed, we would need more than a shovel to get the job done. My issue with snowblowers was the need for gas and oil. I looked at battery powered devices and went with this snowblower. It turned out to be a great investment, because we recently had a snowstorm that dumped nearly a foot of snow in our area. The assembly was very quick, and we only needed about a half hour to charge the battery. Prior to the snowstorm, we had a smaller amount of snow fall, and we realized that it would be advisable to purchase an additional battery (This was simply because of the amount of area needed to shovel, and you may not need it.). For the price, I would recommend buying this product, and we plan to buy a lawnmower that uses the batteries.
