So far, so good. Only had one snowfall and the machine did a decent job handling the wet snow. The handheld blower is quite heavy with the battery. Hoping I will be able to use it. Delivery was earlier than expected.

I purchased this from bestbuy and left it in the garage because it didn’t snow. When spring came I opened the box and found the item was used. Packaging had been ripped and open. The blower also had specs of dirt on it. Customer service didn’t help as I was one week past the return period. This seems to be an ongoing practice to recycle returned items as new and not as open box.

Considering that the “retail” price of this item was supposedly $1200, it’s sad that its performance doesn’t justify the $500 I paid for it. Can’t handle well anything but light powder. Slips and slides very easily. Also, if the snow is wet, can’t throw it very far. Missing a knob upon delivery. Do not recommend.

Inside the box, you’ll find the handheld blower (disassembled), the snow blower (disassembled), 2 batteries, 1 charger, and a lot of documentation. The charger has an all plastic exterior. It features a single LED indicator, a 6’ permanently attached 2-prong cord, and integrated wall-mounting slots underneath. The batteries weigh over 4 lbs each and measure 6.75” x 4.75” x 3.25”. The exterior of the batteries are also all plastic and feature a LED charge meter on the end with a membrane button to activate. The power connections are recessed safely into the body. Looking next at the handheld blower, assembly is quick, straightforward, and toolless. The extension tube and concentrator nozzle both snap into place easily and securely. Construction is entirely plastic: The main body, the tubes, the fan, the internal motor housing and supports…everything. There is an anchor point up near the handle which I can only assume is meant for a strap, but that is sadly not included. Total weight, with the battery, is 10.2lb. The trigger of the handheld blower provides variable speed control, which is very nice. The “cruise control” lock is exceedingly stiff, on my unit at least. As far as performance, the handheld blower really can move some air. Its rated 730CFM is more than many other battery-powered handheld blowers and actually exceeds the performance of many consumer grade gas-powered blowers. I cleared a low lying part of my driveway and it was able to rip up chunks of matted down detritus leaving a nice, clean surface. Battery life is going to depend on how much you use the ‘Turbo’ mode. I was able to squeeze about 20 minutes out of a charge before the unit would not start up any longer. So, don’t expect to take it to a job site and have it last all day. One other thing; there were a couple of times where, when I would go to engage ‘Turbo’ that the blower would cut off. I’m still trying to understand if this was me doing something wrong or if something is wrong with my unit. Finally, the snow blower. Assembly is again quick and toolless. The handlebar comes together easily and feels very secure. Then the chute deflector snaps into place and the chute adjustment rod slides into place like a key. Construction is a mix of plastic and metal; The handlebar is metal, while the main body and deflector chute are plastic. Strikingly, the impeller is plastic, which is a bit worrisome. Activating the snow blower requires 2 hands: 1 to depress a safety button and 1 to pull down on the ‘bail switch’ (bar at the top of the handlebar). The headlights are always on when the unit is running; there is no separate switch for them. Dry operation volume level is pretty quiet compared to gas-powered units. But, with that said, I can’t really speak to its actual ability to move snow or its battery life as its only early November here. It should have no problem moving a powdery snow (10” or less, based on the User Manual), but with that plastic impeller I mentioned earlier, I would be very cautious to not clip a chuck of ice; the kind you find at the bottom of a driveway after the plow trucks have come through and buried you in. All in all, the Greenworks handheld blower and snow blower work find and have their place. I can see both of these units working well for folks living in a suburban neighborhood with limited acreage. But, with the plastic construction and limited battery life, calling them “Pro” might be a bit much.

    Prepared For Multiple Seasons

With twelve large trees on my property my backyard was inundated with falling leaves when the Greenworks 80V 20” Snow Blower and 730 CFM Handheld Blower 2-Piece Winter Combo Kit arrived. Just in time for fall and there was even snow in the forecast so I felt prepared for multiple seasons. The box is pretty hefty but manageable. Inside you find the blower, 2 80v 4.0 Ah batteries, a rapid charger, blower concentrator nozzle, the snowblower, and the manuals. The snowblower comes partially unassembled but assembly was a snap. No tools are required and it took about 10 minutes. The snowblower is solid and well made. It also looks sharp being mostly black with bright green accents. I’ve used gasoline powered leaf blowers and snow blowers for years and what a pain they can be with their weight, noise, exhaust fumes, and maintenance requirements. Plus no need to run to buy gas and no pull cord, instead just pop in a battery and you’re ready to roll. The batteries come charged but I quickly topped them off. The rapid charger lives up to its name, taking only about 40 minutes to charge an empty battery. The charger itself is surprisingly noisy since it has a cooling fan for the battery. You definitely won’t be taking a nap with this thing in the room. With leaves piling up I was ready to get the yard cleaned up. Insert a battery and a press of the trigger and the brushless motor kicks in with 730 CFM. Moving large quantities of leaves was effortless with 170 MPH of blowing power. I was impressed. I quickly learned to be careful since while blowing leaves from my landscaping the blower was strong enough to also easily blow away my mulch. This thing is relatively quiet compared to my gas blower but equally effective. Not too heavy, but I will add a shoulder strap for extended comfort. One battery lasted me the quoted 30 minutes of use. I still had work to do but this set conveniently comes with a second battery. I slapped the empty on the charger and off I went back to work knowing when I was empty again that the charging battery would be ready to roll. The amount of pressure on the trigger controls the power output and there is also a cruise control button that locks the trigger to the selected speed. Very handy. Need more power in some areas, just press the turbo mode button for an extra blast of power. I really like the overall power and effectiveness of this blower and was pleased with the end result on my yard. With snow in the forecast I found myself unusually excited and looking forward to cleaning up after the snowstorm so I could try the Greenworks snowblower. But alas it was not meant to be. I did power on and was again pleased with the power and yet lack of noise compared to my gas blower. No gas and no gagging exhaust. The padded handle is very comfortable and the LED lights appear to be bright enough for nighttime snow removal. Adjusting the direction and angle of the chute is a breeze. I am confident this blower will be adequate to clear my driveway, patio, and sidewalks with a few fully charged batteries. This blower and snowblower set is a great combination, plus you can add additional 80v tools. I already ordered the trimmer. Highly recommended.

Tornado in the Palm of Your Hand

This is a perfect winter combo. I'm in love with the handheld blower. I have a corded blower and a smaller battery operated one and they can just go in the trash now. The Greenworks blower has a crazy amount of power. Full throttle displaces a lot air but then it has a turbo button to turn it up to 11. However, with much power comes much weight. This really gives my forearm a workout holding it with one hand. There is a loop to attach a strap to shoulder some of the weight. I think that something as small as a strap could have been added to the bundle. This cleared my backyard with 1 battery charge. I easily moved wet leaves, old leaves in rocks, and long pine needles. It's nice that the trigger allows for variable speed because you can easily clear munch and even rocks. There's a handy lever to lock the trigger engaged to help with hand fatigue. Greenworks claims this is quieter than gas but it's far from quiet. I can't hear a thing running this. The only benefit is it's immediately quiet when you release the trigger. As for the snow blower I unfortunately didn't have a chance to try it on snow. When I ordered it there was a lot of snow. By the time it came it all melted and the next snow storm turned into rain. I have a gas snow blower that I was trying to compare it to. This blower feels strong and sturdy. Engaging it, the turbine seems very powerful. I really can't wait to try it out. It's cool that it comes with lights on the handle but they only turn on when it's engaged. This is pretty frustrating if you need to be able to see to move something out of the way of the blower or clean out some snow pack. This unit runs significantly quieter than my gas blower. I think the neighborhood will appreciate that on early mornings. Battery power shouldn't be an issue. It's advertised to clear 4 driveways on one charge and comes with two batteries. I like that you can control the chute from the handle, my other snow blower you have to move the chute manually. My last note is that charging the batteries is surprisingly noisy. There's a fan to keep the battery cool while it charges but it was unexpected. Nothing really intolerable, just not silent like all my other battery chargers. I would 100% recommend this bundle for anyone that has a lot of leaves and snow.

They sent me a taped up (not even the right way) box inside a UPS box. I didn’t dare open the inner Greenworks box but could see in it because it was torn in numerous places. Everything was tossled around in it. I am appalled that they would actually send this in this condition as “new”. I could tell you more about some more items from Best Buy recently but I’m tired of wasting my time on them.

    Great fall and winter combo

I got this set because I have never had a snow blower and have always wanted on. Plus, I was looking for a leaf blower with a little more power than the battery one I already had. This combo set looked like it would fit my needs perfectly and so far, I couldn't be more pleased. First things first. When you unbox everything, read the assembly instructions for the snow blower carefully before starting. They aren't the best in the world but taking the time to study them a little will make assembly a whole lot less stressful. Anyway, It took less than 15 minutes to get both blowers completely put together. The batteries come with very little charge, but each one took less than 30 minutes to fully charge thanks to the rapid charger. Charging is actually a little loud because there is a built-in fan to dissipate any excess heat generated. It's not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. The leaf blower is slightly on the heavy side, but mostly because of the massive battery. However, it is well-balanced and comfortable to use for extended periods. I tend to blow the leaves off my patio at least every other day and it usually takes about 15 minutes or so. Even with the weight, it isn't fatiguing to use. And one battery will handle that job several times before needing a recharge. The power is phenomenal on this thing! The continuously variable trigger gives you anything from a light breeze to a full-on windstorm. And if the top end isn't enough, there's a Turbo button that will ratchet up the speed to the next level...almost so much that it wants to blow out of your hand if you're not ready for it. Nothing stands a chance to lay around where it's not wanted. We haven't had snow since I got this set so I haven't been able to really put the snow blower to the test just yet. But in my preliminary tests, it spooled up and sounded like it's going to be just as much of a beast as the leaf blower. The built-in LED headlights are a nice touch since it tends to get dark early and stay that way a long time in winter. I also like that you can adjust the direction of the snow throwing on the fly with a simple lever right below the push handle. I'm not necessarily looking for a blizzard, but I really can't wait for a decent snow to get out with this thing!

I grew up in Maine and knew of 20 inch snowfalls and how beefy snowblowers had to be to go through such winter storms. Where I live here, snows are considerably less but as I age into my 60's, clearing snow becomes a bit of a chore - not back breaking, but tiring. It was thus I wanted something to clear my apartment's sidewalks. Where I live, the apartment management is often clearing snow only when it gets so deep and often well after the snow has stopped falling. I often volunteer to shovel the sidewalk in front of my building and from the lot to the building on the sidewalk there out of respect for my neighbors. The notion of having a small, lighter weight snowblower and hand held blower was just what the doctor ordered. With the late winter, it took some time to deploy this unit but it sure came in handy. This is no high powered machine but it gobbled the three inches of power with ease. I went up and down a larger area than usual to help more of my neighbors and even pulled my car out of its space and used the wheeled blower to remove as much of the snow around my spot as possible and used the hand held unit to blow the snow off the car prior to moving it. Thankfully there was no ice. Don't expect this machine to be all powerful, but it sure beats shoveling snow! I used my machine for about 45 minutes and the unit worked just fine lasting through that. Having the unit on charge at the first hint of snow had a fresh battery ready to go for both units and these truly were a blessing. I could adjust the direction the snow was blown onto the grass off the sidewalk. My neighbors appreciated this as well. In a day and age where battery devices are now actually GOOD and make sense to own, this is handy - a pleasant surprise. And since I live in an apartment, this folds up to minimize how much space it takes to store and is easy to clean off with the hand held blower as well!
