Sturdy Cable, Weak Casing on Connectors

I got this cable because it looked beefy and sturdy, not like the typical, flimsy-looking standard cables. The cable itself is wrapped in a thick later of silicone that makes it 2-3 times thicker than normal. The ends have a large, hard casing, making it easier to grip. I mainly use it in my SUV to hook my smartphone to the car's AUX audio to listen to music, so I wanted something that might better withstand temperature changes in the car. (My car is not epic enough to have Bluetooth.) The cable itself has held up well the past 5 months, but the hard-plastic casing on the connector ends have detached. They weren't glued on well, or the adhesive glue used was cheap and deteriorated. If you plan to use these on a regular basis, be sure to have some super glue handy. The cable still works, but one end is partly exposed now since I lost the outer casing. I don't have an epic audio system, just whatever came with my car, so something between this cable and a standard one would have probably sufficed for me in terms of audio quality.

The prongs aren’t gold, but there’s no noticeable loss of sound. It’s braided so it won’t shred, but it’s also cased in plastic so it doesn’t hang well and becomes cumbersome. Not a huge issue just minor inconvenience... speaking of, the ends are capped with clunky guards to prevent more wear and tear, but that can make connecting to certain devices more difficult if the cases aren’t shallow, not to mention storage. Whatevs, it otherwise gets the job done and should last. The only “major” issue is the cold makes it crackle in sound, but that corrected itself unlike other cables which were ruined after unexpected cold snaps while left in a vehicle. I wouldn’t want to risk it again, so you’ll want to carry it on your person.

If you are a full time or part-time Uber driver like me, then you will notice that we have a tendency to break aux, iphone and micro usb cables more often due to the extra heavy duty use that they get. I had some crazy nut job passenger yank my last aux cable breaking it because he thought it would stretch like a bungee cord breaking it at the point where the cable meets the jack. I had already gone through 3-4 cheap cables and decided to spend a few more dollars to get a good one. The Best Buy rep recommended this cable to me and so far, it has held up. Sound quality is good as well. I gave it 4 stars because the metal jack should be stronger to match the strength of the rest of the cords design which seems to be heavy duty. Only time will tell if the jack is as strong as the rest of the cable.

I almost never write product reviews, but this little 4' cable is a well-designed product that deserves 5 Stars. I rent cars frequently and, when the car doesn't have bluetooth or a USB port, I like to plug my iPhone into the car's AUX jack so I can listen to the music on my phone. I'm clumsy and have dropped my iPhone more times than I can remember. So I always have a case on my phone. Most aux cables don't work unless you take the case off the phone, but the Griffin Survivor AUX Cable does. The plastic at the base of the jack plug is narrow enough to fit inside the opening in phone cases, so the jack plug can be fully-inserted into the AUX jack on my phone without having to remove the case. Also, the cable is extremely durable and the bright blue color stands out, so I don't forget to take it with me.

I've purchased a griffin aux cord before and it lasted about 2 years before scumbbing the tragic fate that occurs with apples lightning cables. I decided to purchase this one knowing that a griffin would last at least 2 years but upon taking it out of the package I noticed that they have completely remodeled their aux cords and have designed it to insure it does not fail, I believe I also saw that it does come with a manufactor warranty should it still become unresponsive. So far I can say it's great and honestly it's by far one of the best designed cords I have seen that is made to prevent from failure. I HIGHLY recommend this product for those in search for a auxiliary cord that will actually last!

It feels nice coming out of the packaging. When taking it out of the box the quality of material covering the cord is a satisfying rubbery feeling. The ends of the cord are covered in a metal casing which feels pretty solid. Plugging this product into my phone was easy and have plenty of clearance. The jack of the cord seems a little longer than a normal aux cord which is good because it gives more space to work with. I was able to fit it in the space meant for my headphone jack on my otterbox case. Seems to be slightly pricey but for me its worth paying a few extra bucks just to have the product last quite a bit longer. I use it every day and no problem it was purchased on june 4 and its now oct 7 and still going strong.

Oddly it seems that the best Aux cables are those cheap ones you find at a gas station. After finally wearing mine out after 6 months, and getting tired of fiddling with the strain relief on the stereo side I decided to upgrade to what I thought was a durable product. Failed within 2 weeks by showing signs of bad connection/wires pulling out of the male jack. Reversed it to troubleshoot whether or not it was my car stereo. It followed to my phones end. Cable confirmed failed. 1 star because Best Buy honored the products manufacturers warranty without me having to deal with the manufacturer. Otherwise I would have given it Zero stars (if possible).

I bought this cable because I have a bad habit of braking things and I needed something that could stand up to my cluzy lifestyle. It didn't. After the 8 hour flight I had bought the cable for I realized that cable head that was attached to my phone was now at a 30 degree angle. I guess I put it in my pocket incorrectly. The cable still works but it definitely didn't live up to its "survivor" name and was not worth the extra 10 dollars for a fancy and bulky cable.

I wrecked a few other cables fairly quickly but this cable is much better than ordinary audio cables. The reinforced sheath keeps the cable from kinking in your pocket and I have not had the same issues, even after months of use. My last two cables didn’t last as long as thin one and it’s still working great. Sometimes you just gotta spend a bit more for superior product life.

the package itself says that it would be the "last aux cord you'll ever need" but I had to get 2 aux cords, the first one the wires got messed up and I went to Best Buy and they said they couldn't do anything about it. the 2nd time I gave it a second chance and bought another one, same thing, the wire messed up and then I went back to Best Buy and said they couldn't do anything. wasted my money, and The Best Buy in my town didn't help they basically said there's nothing they can do. waste of money and time to go to the store. so mad!

I've had a number of these types of aux cords in my car so I can listen to my audible books & podcasts, but inevitably after awhile the sound goes in and out and I have to place the cord undisturbed & in certain manner insider to have a chance at some consistency. This reinforced cord is such a breath of fresh air, and it works beautifully! From here on out, if it ever needs replacing or if anyone in my family needs one, this will be my first choice. I highly recommend this product.

When I purchased this item, there was something on the box that said there was a lifetime warranty for the product. Now I can see why. After about 1 to 2 weeks of regular use from an iPad to the aux of my vehicle, it already plays unclear/staticy music unless you have the cord in the exact right position. That is the reason you purchase this product in the first place… To prevent that. And they used design to try to make people think it would last. Extremely disappointed.

I purchased this aux cord at the black friday event. I was turned off initially by the price, but it was either that or the insignia 3' cables, and they don't hold up to frequent use and start to distort. Needless to say, these aux cords are worth the price. The cable length is long enough to not cause frustration, and the in/out ports are well constructed. I detected not attenuation or distortion on the cables, and sound was crystal clear. This was a good purchase.

I spent extra money on this aux chord because it seemed more durable and more quality than ones I had purchased previously that were under $10. I figured it would last longer, however in spite of my assumption, the cable didn't make it longer than a month and quickly shorted out and the metal casings around the ends fell off as well. I was extremely disappointed with this product and am now using a 5 dollar chord from walmart and have been using the same chord for 6 months. Don't waste your time or money.

Overall this aux cable does what it is meant to do -- plays your music. It's nothing fancy. I have only owned it for about a month so no problems yet. The over-the-top price can be attributed to the cable's durability. It is thick, which does make it less flexible than a normal aux cable. However, that hasn't bothered me much. The only thing that I don't like about this product is that the end caps are a bit big and bulky, but that's only an aesthetic flaw for the most part. All in all good cable though.

I like my audio books when I'm driving. I plug my phone into my car stereo and it's great. I was looking for a better cable and spied this one...VERY NICE. The entire length of cable is protected by clear vinyl tubing which makes it a little stiff but does protect the wires more. I opted to strip off the tubing and now a very flexible audio cable for my phone!

Two-layer cable protection is attractive and sturdy - great color, with a clear outer coating that makes it look and feel even better. Large plugs are easy to grip, but small enough at the tips to fit inside cell phone covers. I used this to connect my PC on the floor to my powered speakers on a variable-height desk - the 4' length works great for this, 3' standard cables were too short.

So, when purchasing this cable it said The last cable you will ever need. It talked about how sturdy it was. That caught my eye. I read the specs. 3 days after having it one of the grey prices fell off. It is so Annoying as it will not stay on. I take care of my products being a music lover. This felt cheap. However, I do like the blue chord, and it still functions. I just hate trying to find the grey piece in the car. It needed to have been more solid. I refuse to superglue it.

I am really pleased with this product. It seems very well-made and durable. It is a much heavier duty aux cable than the last one I had. The last one (different brand) only lasted a few months and the connector went bad. I am using this in my car. I wasn't sure about the blue at first, but, I like it because it is much more visible in my car (dark interior) and easier to find. The connectors seem really well-made as well. I would highly recommend this product!

I needed something durable to listen to my phone in the car. This cord definitely meets that criteria and I don't see it breaking or wearing out anytime soon, but I have noticed that if the inputs twist at all in the headphone jack of my phone I get a good bit of static. Most of the time it's not a problem, and I'm not completely sure if it's the cord or my phone (although it never happened with my previous aux cord). Overall pleased.
